What a stunning and stunning condo! Woke up to the sunrise every day and fell asleep to the ocean waves nightly. The condo itself was clean, well equipped, and spacious. There were some beach chairs, beach umbrella, and a small cooler available in the closet. No A/C but ceiling fans and portable fans helped keep the air flowing. Loved it here!

We have enjoyed our vacation in this beautiful place very much. The apartment, the surroundings and especially the fantastic dreamlike view made it hard for us to say goodbye.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Kauai and the views from this unit were spectacular. Still on the fence as to whether we would stay here again.
Pros:
- Incredible views, sounds of the water
-Tastefully furnished with very comfortable beds
- Responsive property management when we had maintenance issues
- Lots of great beach gear - boards, chairs, umbrellas - made a huge difference for our stay.
Cons
- Basic maintenance has been deferred by the owners. We had issues with showers, freezer, microwave. I expected a lot better given the price tag.
- Needs upkeep - lots of rust on fixtures and doors; old and yellowed paint in many areas, carpet is OLD.
- Despite being gorgeous, the beach really isn’t swimmable for kids or even inexperienced adult swimmers. The rip tide is real.
This condo has arguably the best view on the island… looking across shipwreck beach at the breaking waves and cliff.
With that being said it needs some serious attention and updating. First and most importantly, the VRBO listing needs updating as it falsely says the guest bedroom king bed could be separated into two twins… which it cannot. The guest bedroom has a king wood framed bed that cannot be separated. It is totally unacceptable to falsely advertise the sleeping arrangements of a condo on VRBO.
Second, the unit does not have A/C. During my stay it was in the 80s and the unit was hot and generally uncomfortable. The unit does have supplemental fans… but they were very dirty with grime and needed cleaning. Because of the lack of A/C the windows needed to be constantly open… however the screens are old and not tight fitting. In the guest bedroom geckos we’re living in the room under the bed and lizard poop covered the base molding. It was disgusting. Ants also were rampant in the guest bedroom and after my daughter left an apple on her bedside stand it quickly was covered with 100 plus ants. that came right in the gaps in the screens . There are also lots of small things that need attention. The shower head in the hall bath needs to be replaced. The washing machine leaked water on the floor. The oven light did not work. The electrical outlets needed replaceconf. The unit needs to be tiled vs having carpeting. The unit needs new windows.

We loved it here! We are a family of 4 with kids who are 9 and 10 years old. We loved the view of the beach, the size and spaciousness of the rental, the nice pool and numerous grills available, and we had a great time in Poipu and around the area. Communication was quick and smooth, checkout was super easy, and the rental was a good experience. Poipu is close to Lahaina, and we drove to the north of the island easily too. Lost of nearby food options, and a nice beach to chill on in walking distance - Shipwreck's Beach. The rental has all the beach things you need, and it was very clean and breezy. A great time!

The price was high including all the fees but the view was fantastic. I’d call it a million dollar view. The unit is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It does need some work on items though. You can see what damage the salt air does to metal for sure. Also the kitchen needs some maintenance items on the faucet and microwave buttons. Overall, we were happy with the location and the unit. Had a wonderful time. Would come back again.

Property is right next to Grand Hyatt so we enjoyed cocktails and appetizers there every evening.
Definitely need a car if you want to explore, which we did not rent. We walked every place!
You might want to go to Costco or a big grocery store before going to unit if you plan on cooking. There is no grocery close by.

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed in this unit. Perfect location! Pretty warm in the summer and no A/C but being that it’s beachfront a fan or 2 gets you through the hotter days.

I would install security screens on the balcony to maximise the breeze.
Security screen off lounge room is not properly fitted.
We had a wonderful stay at Poipu Sands. This unit had a perfect view of Shipwreck Beach from every room except the bedroom at the rear of the unit.
Everything was clean.
Property management was great about checking in with us and working with us. We had problems with the freezer and maintenance was up immediately.
Our only “complaint” was there was literally nothing provided (other than great ground coffee—on salt, pepper, olive oil or even foil. To but these things gets pretty pricey if you plan to cook in. They did say in their description that there were no supplies. They meant it! I would definitely stay here again!
Our 2nd time staying here, and it was just as great as our 1st stay. Perfect location, clean, and well appointed. We’ll be back for sure!
Access to the beach, walking trails excellent, and view is gorgeous. Very large property and more than we needed. Shirt walk to village shops.
Lovely condo on lush property. Nice walking trails nearby. We wished for a bit more in the way of the pool area and there is no hot tub. Overall we were comfortable and the unit is nicely equipped.
