ALOHA!
The breathtaking Waterfall Retreat at Reed’s Island is a spectacular 4 bedroom, 3 bath home in the exclusive area of Reed’s Island in Hilo. The home is only a few minutes from downtown Hilo but it feels like a private paradise retreat with a stunning river and falls right outside your window. The tropical rainforest views, Wailuku river and the falls natural beauty make this home a one-of-a-kind vacation destination.
This home has many luxury features: The living room has large windows and sliding doors that showcase the extraordinary rainforest with picturesque views of the waterfall and Wailuku river. You may enjoy your meals in front of waterfall out on the lanai, a relaxing area on the 700 sq ft pinewood deck.
While you are on the lanai, you may enjoy the view of the well-landscaped tropical garden, the colorful flowers and plants, feel the tender-green, soft Korean Grass, and listening to nature’s symphony: the tree-frog’s greeting, the waterfall flowing and the birds singing. We do have geckos that like to hang out on the lanai and will occasionally enter the home. We coexist happily with our gecko friends as they eat mosquitos and less desirable critters. Just know that they are part of the flora and fauna of the Big Island.
Kitchen is stocked with dishes and cookware for any cooking enthusiast. Coffee and herbal teas provided for guests. The bathrooms are furnished with clean linens, soap, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer.
Other amenities include flat screen tv, washer and dryer and parking for 3 cars.
Relax and stay here at the magical Waterfall Retreat at Reed’s island, an experience that you will treasure for the rest of your life.

All questions were answered in a timely manner. The view from the house and decks are gorgeous. The waterfalls and foliage made it feel like a tree house. We only had one day were we really missed having AC. We'd go back.

We enjoyed our stay at this spacious property, which was conveniently located a short drive away from downtown, beaches, botanical gardens, and ziplining. Beds were super comfortable! Property manager was extremely responsive to any needs. Listing states AC however only 1 room actually has a window unit. Regardless, there were fans in every room and windows could be opened, so we were comfortable.

The sound of the water running over rocks the rocks below provides an incredible backdrop for a stay in Hilo. It is Iike having a giant pink noise machine to lull you to sleep each evening. The owner was very responsive and thoughtful (they left a pound of Hawaiian coffee by the coffee maker). Would definitely stay here again!

The house was very nice and clean. The host was great to work with, responded quickly to my texts and even had a nice binder layed out with information about the house and things to do around the area. It was located in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown Hilo. Our whole group would stay there again.

Our stay was great until the morning we were living. I loaded two suitcases in the car and was in the process of loading a few others. When I came back the 2 suitcases were stolen. It was 5:00 AM in the morning and only took less than 10 minutes to happen.

A stunning location! Well equipped house. Lovely decor. Incredibly prompt and attentive service when we had a small plumbing issue. The sounds of the jungle and waterfall are your own relaxation soundtrack. And don't mention the beautiful geckos. Highly recommend it!

The house was amazing and we really enjoyed out time listening to the rush of the water. The driveway is steep, but manageable. This house was a great base for our stay in Hilo. We would stay here again in the future.

Our family of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hilo for New Year's week. Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots are nearby because it’s the same river flowing through the backyard Sitting on the lanai gave us a private version of those attractions.
The secluded spot allowed us to get to other areas of the Big Island, such as Volcano National Park and Mauna Kea, fairly quickly while avoiding the hustle and bustle of a large resort. We were also able to walk into Hilotown within 25 minutes, which made it extremely convenient to grab meals or a shave ice.
The only noise at night is the sound of Coqui frogs, which is a great alternative to the urban noises such as car alarms and garbage trucks that typically fill my home.
The garage also offered beach towels and coolers, which were helpful when we headed over to the heated pools at Isaac Hale park.
We look forward to returning soon.

The property was well maintained and clean. It is right on a cliff on rainbow waterfall, so the views were amazing. We happen to see the owner as we arrived about 20 minutes early and she was very nice and she explained each and every items and amenities of the home. Home had everything setup, towels , linens etc. kitchen was fully loaded with all the utensils.

This is a healing and restorative spot for us. It was the second time we had the pleasure to stay here. The house and kitchen are large and accommodating, Downtown is walkable if desired. The waterfall and surrounding foliage is meditative and worth the visit
