During whale season, January through April, you can see whales breaching from the sandy shores of Sugar Beach and keep a close eye out for turtles too. The property is just a short 5 minute beach walk to a farmer's market with local island fruits and vegetables or 10 minute walk to Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge.

This is an older property built in the 70s that is on the north end of Kihei nice pool complex, hot tub lawn area in front of the beach. Walking distance to ABC store and farmers market. Our unit was comfortable and perfect for us inside. Could use some updates and cleaned a little better. We really enjoyed our week here.

The resort is in a great location to travel easily to anywhere on Maui. The unit suited us perfectly and we enjoyed visits with others around the pool after our days exploring. Recommended for everyone!

This was a wonderful stay at a very well maintained, comfortable and clean unit. Being on the ground floor just steps from the pool and the ocean was very convenient. Lots of amenities on the property and the property staff were very friendly. We were well looked after by Theresa the manager, she is very good at her job and cares. This would be our first choice for another vacation.

Sugar Beach is a beautiful resort. We have stayed at this resort several times, but this was our first stay in this particular condo. We were disappointed in a number of things we think others would want to be aware of in this unit. Overall, this unit needs significant updating. There were only very basic kitchen items, with many in need of repair or replacement. The flooring, cupboards and wall paint is completely worn out. However the king bed is great…very comfortable. There were no beach chairs or flotation items which are almost standard in any other condo we have ever stayed at (we’ve been to Maui 30+ times). We asked the owner if she would reimburse us us if we purchased new beach chairs and left them for future guests. She would only offer payment of $50, which would not have covered the cost of the chairs. The unit is on the ground floor, which is great, but there is a constant indoor fly problem because of the proximity of the gardens (even with screen doors being consistently shut). We had to spray with insect killer (purchased by us) many times a day throughout our stay. The resort also unexpectedly closed down the pool for 48 hours during our stay. They were unable to finish whatever the issue was and kept it closed for a further two days. This was very frustrating for everyone. Finally, we found the front office service to be very inconsistent. They would frequently (3 times during our stay that we were aware of) leave and lockup the office during opening hours, with no notice of when they would be returning. While we still very much enjoyed the overall resort, we would not return to this unit. KG
