Every time we enter our condo, we are struck by how beautiful the view is. One wall of the living room is entirely made of glass, and the light fills the whole space. The lanai is over 16 feet wide and provides a great space to hang out, watch the waves and surfers, and enjoy the tropical weather.
We recently installed a $15k sliding glass door unit even though the old unit functioned fine. The update is just part of our commitment to make sure our guests have a great experience. I am so happy with this change. The difference the insulated, double pane glass made was huge. Very energy efficient and so quiet. There are only 12 units in all of the building with these doors. I wouldn't stay in a unit without them.
We have furnished our condo to be modern and comfortable. You will find full sized couch and chairs, two king sized beds, tons of storage, large closets. The kitchen is outfitted with a new whirlpool appliance suite including microwave, dishwasher, self cleaning glass topped range and refrigerator with ice maker. We even have special outlets that have USB chargers built into them. The kitchen is outfitted with top quality pans, knives and small appliances.
Free WiFi. A large flat screen TV in the living room and another flat screen in one bedroom.
Island Surf is in a great central location. Immediately to the north is a area the locals call 'The Triangle'. It has a lot of shops and scores of restaurants and night spots. Across the street is Kalama Park, offering playgrounds, roller hockey, volleyball, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and wide open spaces to play catch or just hang on the grass. You can watch your friends and family play in the surf right from the front room.
A short drive to the south puts you in the heart of Wailea with upscale dining, shopping and more wonderful beaches.
Island Surf houses many great businesses. Massage, small grocery store, sushi restaurant , Pacific Whale Foundation...many great businesses are directly downstairs.
There is a pool and BBQ area on the second floor, both with ocean views.

Island Surf Building is entirely NON SMOKING. Owners and guests are not allowed to smoke in units, on walkways, on Lanais or in common areas. There is one very small designated smoking area in a corner of the back parking lot. Quite honestly, if there is a smoker or vaper in your party, this is not a good fit for your vacation. My advice would be to seek other accommodations. Anyone found smoking in a restricted area is subject to a significant fine.

Also, this building is zoned business and resort use. You may have heard of some condos being rezoned and no longer available for tourist use...we are not impacted by that. We have always been zoned for resort use.
Beware of owners not providing their tax number, often they are scams or not licensed. If you are looking at a rental that does not provide their number, they are probably operating illegally. Please be careful, the state is enforcing these and you may find yourself without a place to stay when you arrive. Try googling 'nonpermitted vacation rentals target of enforcement' to see newest article on the issue.

Very nice condo and stocked well of kitchen supplies. Made it easy to go to Costco for food and eat home sometimes! Lots of food choices within walking distance too! Central to drive to different beaches and activities! Love looking out the window at the water and beginner surfers. Would stay here again!

Matt was great to work with, he gave some great recommendations for restaurants, things to do and places to visit. The condo was very clean, well equipped and a great location! Lots of restaurant choices in the area. The food trucks behind the condo was so cool! Beach across the street is a little rocky, but it was very cool, we swam with 2 turtles there and it is shallow for a long way so super easy to hang out! The Lanai has the best view of a beautiful park and sunset every night you won’t miss it. I will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Matt and Colleen's condo in Kihei. The location is fantastic- close to incredible beaches, parks, restaurants and shops. And the condo is full of resources about Maui and everything you need for living there and enjoying the place. Matt was responsive to any texts. This was a very special vacation for me, celebrating my 70th birthday and also remembering a family vacation in Kihei 51 years ago that brought that special vacation back to my mind and heart in wonderful ways. This apartment is in a central location; across from Kalama park beach. The apartment itself was clean and spacious. I rated it 4 stars due to the shower stopper in the hall bathroom being corroded in place. This prevented me from being able to use the bathtub. I had been looking forward to bath after our flight. Now, were we were given notification that the bathrooms were going to be given maintenance work the week after our stay so, this issue may no longer be valid. Otherwise, the place was immaculate. There are beach towels in both closets with umbrellas and chairs for 2 in the guest bedroom closet. We used one of the umbrellas on a beach excursion and it was fine for the both of us. There some grocery items in the refrigerator that were usable along with items like olive oil and some spices in the cupboard so, one could easily buy some basic groceries and be comfortable. There are 2 stair cases plus an elevator in this building which is good as this unit is up a few floors. There is a rinse off in the parking lot which is needed if you decide to walk the beach across the street. after we left here and got to Oahu, we missed this pace immediately and longed for a spacious apartment and lanai!

The condo had everything we could have asked for. It was clean and nicely furnished. We had a great view of the water and liked being able to walk to almost everything. There are so many beautiful beaches just a short drive away. Matt is ver responsive and had great tips on places to go.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Matt and Colleen’s condo in Kihei. The location was perfect. So easy to walk to many restaurants and shops and a nice ocean view on the shaded lanai. Great for watching the surfers in the morning when jet lag has you up at the crack of dawn. The condo is well-stocked with anything that you might need during your stay. Beach towels and chairs, coolers, boogie boards, and all the kitchen essentials. We really appreciated the sliding doors on the lanai that kept out most street noise. Parking was easy in the lot behind the building; we never had trouble getting a spot. The condo building itself is older but well-maintained. Elevators are quick and we almost never had to wait for one. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Matt and Colleen for sharing your Kihei home!
