The stay here was incredible! Absolutely serene. If you want to be in a beautiful quiet area, away from the highway and tourist centers, this is definitely the place! You won’t even mind the small drive out of town because it’s so gorgeous and scenic. The place itself is so cozy and cute! The back deck is 100% worth it. Waking up to the sound of rain each morning isn’t so bad in a place like this.
Perfect hideaway from all of the hustle and bustle on Kauai! The lanai surrounded by mountains is a tropical paradise! The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay convenient and complete!
Overall great place to stay. I would have given it a 5 star review except for the weevil bugs at night that gets attracted to any inside lights or anything white like the refrigerator. Also next time for more privacy I would choose a non-host home.(owner lives upstairs)

Wonderful, clean getaway. Beautiful view and can hear birds. There is no AC and fans work, however it can get humid. Beaches close by and close to a state park.
Loved staying here. Woke up every morning to the sound of the birds and the roosters. Would make breakfast and sit on the deck for a peaceful start to our day. The place had everything we needed. And even though there’s no air-conditioning with the doors open at night and the fans running in July, it stayed plenty cool and refreshing. Would definitely look for staying here again.
Cozy apartment with a terrific deck. We enjoyed our morning coffee listening to the birds out back. Perfect homebase for adventures throughout the island. East side is a bit less touristic with less busy beaches and near the town of Kaapa
We enjoyed staying here! Vrbo description was just as it is. Loved being on the back deck - peaceful and serene! Lots of wildlife to observe. Location was excellent. Close to shopping and eating establishments. David and Lynda were excellent to work with!
A lovely peaceful place, well stocked with essentials in the kitchen. Good distance to everything on the island. Back porch has a great view.
We feel so fortunate to have been able to spend 2 weeks on Kauai hosted by Lynda and David. The home is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully furnished. It is located in a quiet, tidy and safe neighborhood. The apartment is more upscale inside than you would expect, given the picture with a wood siding exterior and description of having a creek nearby. We cooked nearly all of our meals, the kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed and of good quality. The washer and dryer in a separate laundry room seemed new. Fresh tropical flowers set out in several places. And so so clean—that really stood out. The back of the apartment and deck face a beautifully landscaped tropical yard, with a creek down the hill with birds (wild and domestic) and bullfrogs. There are other homes to the side but not directly facing so it’s a nice private space to eat meals, write cards and plan the next day’s activities. The hosts David and Lynda are wonderful, seem to enjoy sharing their home and island life. We didn’t have any concerns but when we checked in about anything, David was the main contact and promptly and graciously responded. We hiked all over Kauai and were so happy to return at the end of each day to such a lovely, comfortable home.
We stayed here for 4 nights with our 1.5 year old. Easy check in, fully equipped unit, very aesthetically pleasing. Travel crib provided, but just to note, no high chair. We loved the lanai which provides protection for the frequent rain so you can still enjoy drinking your coffee outside. We thought central location for heading anywhere on the island was perfect as well.
We felt right at home in the Wailua hideaway. The apartment had everything we needed and more. We were able to cook, do some laundry, had extra towels when needed. Instructions were clear.The apartment is well located and allowed us to explore various parts of the island pretty easily. We'd happily stay there again! Thank you

The property is amazing. Waking up and seeing the beautiful backyard/stream was very enjoyable. We felt the Aloha spirit as soon as we got out of the car. The welcome sign, note, and fresh flowers were great. Dave and Max took great care of us and gave great recommendations.
Very comfortable first floor unit, with lovely deck and beautiful setting. Appliances and some kitchen supplies needed updating. Owner was responsive to minor issues.
This was the perfect place for our three-week stay. It was beautifully appointed, with a comfortable living room and sliding doors opening to the peaceful lanai, as well as a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. Beach towels and chairs and face masks were available for our use. The morning after our arrival the battery of our rental car was dead and the friendly host loaned us a battery charger so we could return to the airport to exchange the vehicle. Also, the location provided us with a convenient base for excursions to various parts of the island, and numerous books on the shelf gave touing information, hiking routes, and nature information.
My wife and I have traveled all over the world and this is one of the most beautiful spots we've stayed in. The spacious apartment is filled with light and has all the comforts of home. The king bed was super comfortable. Plenty of towels and blankets. The lanai in the rear overlooks a tropical forest complete with a lagoon. David and Lynda were super friendly and made us feel at home. The place is safe and secure and parking is easy. Great location, near everything. This truly was wonderful in every way. Mahalo!
Very nice place to relax with everything you need. Had thunderstorms one day and just laid around listening to all the animals by the creek.Absolutely recommend, would stay here again.
The location is wonderful! It’s so easy to get to the north and south beaches and attractions. It’s tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the island and feels so peaceful after a day exploring. If you love the beach you’ll really appreciate the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, and beach towels!!! 5 STARS!
Pulling in to the neighborhood is nothing special. But when you pull into the driveway you are surrounded by trees and greenery.The backyard is even more enclosed, with a vista across the creek to more greenery. Truly very private, quiet and welcoming. The whole space is well laid out and equipped with almost everything you might need.Kitchen was apportioned with all utensils you might need. We put it to good use for our 7 days. I highly recommend David and Lynda's place. Thanks!

David and Lynda’s space is a dream! After a stressful rental car checkout experience, arriving here to fresh flowers throughout the apartment, chocolate treats, and a welcome card were just what we needed to feel welcome on Kauai! The space—including the bed and couch—are beyond comfortable, the kitchen is spacious and thoroughly stocked, and the view and sounds from the lanai are heavenly. Centrally located, this apartment could not have suited us better. Thank you, David and Lynda!
The rental was on the lower floor of this 1970s home. It had all the amenities we needed, including a large fridge, oven, Keurig machine and even a washer and dryer! We could have used a cookie sheet, decaf coffee for evenings, and caffeinated black tea. Comfortable king bed, nice linens, lots of hefty beach towels, plus a beach umbrellas, 2 sand chairs, and a cooler were very appreciated. Great deck overlooking gorgeous garden backyard.
Host David was friendly, available, and knew the area well. Max the dog is adorable!
We enjoyed the proximity to north and south island beaches, restaurants, and even booked a 1-day birding trip to Waimea Canyon to see 2 of the 4 species that are critically endangered.

Aloha, the Wailua Hideaway was perfect for the way we like to travel: serene, private, away from the crowds, connected to the natural world – and with a good kitchen! Everything about the space is comfortable, practical, and attractive. Lots of great touches like flower arrangements, a rice cooker, and plenty of hangers in the closet. We unfortunately were not able to meet the hosts, as they were off-island, but their friend who filled in for them was friendly and helpful. I'm sure we will be staying there again! Mahalo ā nui loa!
This is the nicest place that I have ever stayed, anywhere in the world. The property is in an excellent location, and yet it feels very private. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The hosts, Lynda & David were happy to answer any questions that I had regarding sightseeing on the island. A visitor could easily spend weeks here. I highly recommend these accommodations.
We really enjoyed the location of this property. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood while being less than a 10 minute drive to Safeway. Friendly greetings by owner upon arrival then giving us space to quietly enjoy our visit with instructions to reach out if we are in need of anything. Great for 2 adults. Was a bit cramped with our 11 year grandson in tow.
