Overall a well worth visit with a house that had pretty much everything you needed for a garden isle relaxing vacation.
We loved our stay! The house was great and the view was amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better location! Perfect for our family. We will return!

We returned to Hale Nalu after renting it almost 20 years ago. It proved even better than we remembered. The home was spotless. The views were spectacular. And the sound of the ocean was transformative. Hale Nalu has everything we needed for the perfect, chill Kauai escape. Having plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards was bonus. On our last day, 2 monk seals came onshore at the baby beach right next door! We will return- and this time we won’t wait 20 years!
Perfect stay on Baby Beach. Easy access to the sand and shopping/dining. Home is beautiful. Kitchen could be a little better stocked for such a nice home. The upstairs master does have a steep set of stairs and could be difficult if you had guests with limited mobility. The feral cat that visits is very friendly and we fed her as suggested but she didn’t eat much. Only had one BIG issue - water started running down thru a can light in the kitchen when one of the guests was using the upstairs jacuzzi tub. We called and left voice/text messages and never heard from anyone until the following morning - 12 hours later. The water did eventually stop flowing but if that were my home, I would have been a little more attentive to something so disasterous!
fabulous property in a great location.Loved our 40th anniversary with family and friends. enjoyed snorkeling, bicycling, tubing, tours and great food.

Amazing location, Ocean front, beach access, amazing. Baby Beach next door visitors can be loud at times. For the price, furniture is very uncomfortable (but stylist in old Hawaiian way). Dining chairs inside amazingly uncomfortable. Kitchen not outfitted well. Arrived to very strong old mop smell. Turned out to be washing machine. cleaned washer trap and left it open at night with overhead fan running to dry out, never went fully away. Cleaners and rental company should have been more responsive to smell.
We asked if they could supply a second coffee maker for a couple friends that drink decaf. Granted, they only advertise coffee pot. But when you lag over 11k I would expect that they would be more willing to accommodate a 20 request. Overall, I would book the property again but had a bad taste in my liutb with their unwillingness to accommodate a minor request.

Everything about Hale Nalu was perfect for our three-generation family (the youngest gen comprising a preschooler and a toddler). The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The lawn is great for kids to safely play, and Baby Beach is right there. We also drove just a few minutes to the beaches at Kiahuna and Poipu, and a little farther to Lydgate. The location is quiet and private, but everything we needed was close by. Garden Island Rentals was responsive, and the house was spotless when we arrived. Gear included plenty of towels and beach chairs, a good beach umbrella, toys for the kids, and an old boogie board. We loved making friends with Kona, the homeless cat who stopped by morning and evening in hopes of a meal (the owners provide the food), and my husband and I joined Poipu Kai Tennis Club for a week to join in their drop-in doubles. Our favorite family-friendly restaurant was Kauai Island Brewing in Koloa—excellent pizzas, salads, and burgers—and we also liked Mucho Aloha, Brennecke’s, and the poke and açaí at the Kukuiula Market. Oh, and the Thai food truck is good, too. We very much hope to return!
This home is truly in a magical setting and is everything you could ask for! Grandparents, parents and grandchildren all had a joyful time and are sad to go home!! We enjoyed every day in our fully stocked home and couldn’t get enough of that gorgeous view! Mahalo!
Terrific location for a relaxing stay away from it all but close enough to shopping and restaurants for a balanced vacation. Wonderful home which is well stocked and maintained right next to the baby beach. Saw some amazing sea turtles and monk seals while there and our family enjoyed the hammock and hot tub frequently after hikes or a long day at the beach. Will definitely be returning in the future! Thanks for the wonderful stay!

What a wonderful stay we had at this beautiful vacation home. Perfect location. There were 6 adults, my husband and me, and our 2 daughters and their husband,/partner. The hot tub was a hit.2 things that I would recommend the third bedroom should have queen bed in it and more coffee mugs!

Pros:- fantastic views! Can't beat it. Lounge chairs and hammock in the backyard facing the ocean was a great addition.- fully stocked kitchen, good appliances, everything worked- great location- in general, mostly clean (save for a few dead cockroaches in hard to reach places)- easy to find and access the house, check in instructions were clearCons:- slow communication. Would text the rental company with issues (as instructed in their emails to me), but would take several hours to hear a reply back. I even called and left a voicemail to report an issue, but it took nearly 48 hours for them to call back. - found two dead roaches in one of the bedrooms. Found underneath the bed and back of closet. Seems like these harder to reach places were not cleaned very well.- conflicting instructions on garbage day (one document said Monday, another said Thursday).Overall, would recommend and would stay here again.
