The great room and kitchen are the heart of Pu'uhonua located on the 2nd floor featuring wrap around windows making it feel like you are experiencing the outside from within. This arrangement allows guests the option of making meals at home while still enjoying every part of Kauai's beauty. The amazingly grand lanai allows for outdoor dining under the stars providing a large gathering area, but Pu'uhonua also offers the privacy of three bedrooms (1 upstairs and 2 downstairs) each having their own complete bathroom and private tranquil lanai. Each room has its own ceiling fan for additional comfort with the cool tropical trade wind breeze. If you are interested in snorkeling, then Poipu beach can offer you a variable paradise of beautiful and exotic tropical fish. If you are more of a boogie boarding thrill seeker then Shipwrecks Beach is the place for you with some of the best surf on the island. The best part about all of this is that these beaches are simply a 15 minute walk on the green belt of Poipu Kai and we will provide everything you will need to enjoy a day at the beach including snorkel gear, boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers, beach chairs, mats, and beach towels!!!
If you need a break from the beach, this rental is also apart of the Poipu Kai Resort Complex allowing access to numerous amenities including resort pool, jacuzzi, and multiple tennis courts. If you are interested in taking a swing at Kauai's most prestigious golf courses than you need to look no further than Poipu. Our rental is down the road to the Poipu Bay Golf course, which is home to the illustrious PGA Grand Slam.
Historic Koloa Town, Poipu Shopping Center, and Kukui'ula Village Shopping Center are about 3 miles away from the rental offering a mixture of amazing restaurants (Keoki's and Roy's are amazing), unique shops, and convenient grocery stores. Poipu is ideally located on the sunny south side of the island with equal traveling distance between the lushly vibrant North Shore and the scenic 'West Side' with it's breathtaking Waimea Canyon (The Grand Canyon of the Pacific) and the spectacular shear cliffs of the Na Pali Coast all seen from Koke'e State Park.

The check-in process was so easy!! Communication back and forth with the owner was effortless. If I had a question, Heddy responded promptly without hesitation. Once we were checked in, we enjoyed getting to know more about the home and the area and island in a collection of notes and literature kept on the coffee table. We were over 5,000 miles away from home, yet we had the comforts of home. The kitchen had quite a few staples in terms of basic oils and seasonings and any kind of cookware or dishes you may need. I loved that we could have the convenience of cooking some meals at home. One of my favorite things about the home was how each bedroom had its own little private lanai. Everyone had their own space to get away from the group if needed or to read one of the many novels and books throughout the home. Our family also appreciated the on site laundry facilities and having access to numerous snorkel gear sets and boogie boards and beach chairs. Nothing beats the Poipu beaches. We were on the island for a family wedding and the location offered activities and things to do for a variety of age groups. We loved our stay and would love to come back here in the future!

This booking was a nightmare! We arrived for checkin a little after 5 as check in is not till that time. We were on a tight schedule as we had dinner to go to for a relatives birthday. We were shocked to arrive with nothing cleaned, beds not made, dirty linens on one of the beds, dirty towels, dirty sinks, cockroaches, ants, hair, dirty floors, dirty kleenex on bathroom counters, old food all in the fridge, others belongings and so much more! I pulled the dirty linens off of the main bed upstairs and there was grass all over the bed protector and even worse all the pillows had large yellow stains on them! We messaged this host but we got no response, we called VRBO who contacted the host and said she told them she got no messages which was false. We had to leave for dinner and it wasnt till another half hour later that she responded to the messages she claimed "she never got". We were upset and asked for a refund as we did not want to stay there with as filthy as it was and with what the actual bedding looked like. The host insisted this was fixable and was sending her cleaner while we were out to dinner. We got back and it was poorly cleaned! Same linen and same nasty bedding and pillows yet host insists on only a one night refund as she claims this was fixable and "we chose to leave" How can someone justify allowing guests to sleep on nasty bedding like that under those circumstances! We were fooled by previous reviews!!!! Would never recommend this place!

I stayed here with my husband, our 5 year old son and his 2 grandmas. It was the perfect location to our favorite beaches. This house was very comfortable and spacious, we would stay here again!

This house felt like our home! A great place to start off our day with a big hearty breakfast, and be able to come home at the end of our day exploring the island and make a delicious dinner in a short amount of time. The amenities were great and we had everything we needed - well stocked kitchen tools and dishes/cookware for cooking. Comfortable living and sleeping areas. Great location with a short walk to multiple beaches in the area. Enjoyed the use of the pool and hot tub not too far walking distance away.

This house was in a great location for all island activities--all within an hours drive. There was a large open kitchen, dinning, and living area with comfortable seating to watch movies (which we did every night after our busy daytime activities.) The house is in a safe neighborhood with access to a pool and jacuzzi and only about a ten minute walk to the beach--for the two young adults and about a 15 minute walk for the older generation. (There were five adults in our group--three parents and two adult children in their twenties.) Located in the garage and available for use, is everything a guest may need for a day at the beach. We used the towels, umbrella, snorkeling gear, body boards, foldable wagon, cooler on wheels, backpack cooler, and beach chairs. There are also items for use for small children and babies. The home was decorated with a personal, homey, island touch. (Not ABC Store touristy at all.) Each of the three bedrooms were very private and had their own lanai. When we were there, Poipu beach had 12 sea turtles on the beach and 1-2 sea lions basking/sleeping in the sun during the day. There are jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, board games provided for rainy day activities as well. (We had only a half day of rain and we decided to spend that time buying groceries at Costco and Walmart and eating at area restaurants.) We had an enjoyable time and would definitely stay here again!

This is a very nice home to stay in. The beds were very comfortable, the living area very spacious and the owners provided pretty much everything you would need for a vacation. We appreciated that they had several beach chairs, snorkeling equipment and beach towels. The place is very high tech with power curtains and fans operated by remote. We loved the location of the house as it was near Poipu Beach and a short drive to many local sights. Overall we were very pleased. The home has some age to it but that certainly isn’t a deterrent to our potentially returning there.

Four older family members stayed for a week. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Large well equipped kitchen and rec room. Many amenities provided including any beach equipment you could want. Walking distance to the beach. It is airy with lots of large windows and sliding doors and an upstairs wrap around porch. Access to a pool and Jacuzzi. I highly recommend. Our only complaint was the floors were not mopped and it could use some dusting. Otherwise an ideal property. Thanks to our hosts.
