We travel to Kona 3-4 times per year and have stayed in a different place every time. Eventually we’ll buy our own condo, but this helps us see what’s out there. So far this place has been our favorite. I wish it had A/C for the hottest months, but everything else was great. I loved the location, so close to one of our favorite Kona restaurants (Kai) that opened last year. Kona Ali’i is also right across the street from a small beach with stunning sunsets most every night. Just grab some chairs and chill with a beverage. So nice. The kitchen was small and I’m not a fan of tile countertops, but it was functional and worked fine for us. We left the windows and sliding glass doors open the whole time which kept the air flowing through the condo and made it mostly comfortable.
Only minor areas to improve/ distractions - the condo could use some updating (vinyl floors, countertops, etc), but it is comfortable and still nice as is. The furniture layout was a bit awkward. The couch is too far from the TV. We moved the couch closer and made it work. Some nights, like Friday nights, there was music playing at a nearby bar past 10pm. Not the condo’s fault, but without A/C, we had the windows open which made it really easy to hear and no way to turn it down. I was working remotely from the condo for two weeks sticking to the pacific time zone (5-6am Hawaii time work start) so I tried to be in bed before this music would be over. The gate to the beach and shopping area closed at 8pm, which is 2 hours too early. A couple times we had to walk all the way around through the Islander parking lot. Finally the smoke alarm near the kitchen was way too sensitive. It was going off just making scrambled eggs.
Aside from these minor distractions we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return or even buy a similar condo in the same plaza!

Exactly as posted, this property holds everything necessary to enjoy a tropical get-away. The balcony with view and sound of the ocean is spectacular. Only downside is the noise level at night.

As described. Right in the middle of Kona. Everything is walkable. Here to visit our daughter otherwise you really don’t need a car staying here unless you want to go further out. Be aware that this is in the middle of town so there is street noise. Not a big deal to us. Would stay here again

Everything about our stay was great. The condo had everything we needed, it was very clean (except the carpet, which is stained), the breeze was wonderful, the location was super. It was walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Covered parking was a bonus. Definitely recommend this place.
