Auntie Kali's Cottage is a gem rental on Maui. Located around Kihei, it is a perfect central location to explore the island, but far enough off the beaten track to provide the kind of privacy we preferred during our stay. Carrie was a wonderful host and made sure we lacked for nothing. She attended to any issue we had with speed and dedication. We knew we were in good care the whole time.The cottage itself, with its two quaint bedrooms and baths, was perfect for our needs. The beds were both spacious and comfortable. The kitchen provided all the modern convince anyone could want, plus a wide array of cookware to use.Grill Masters, be prepared for one of the best gas-grill experiences you can imagine.The real lure (and rightfully so) of the property is the private pool and bar area. The pool is a nice size for general swim, with a solid hot tub attached. The slanted, "beach entry," was very convenient. Behind the pool, the full-size bar had any tool you would need to create a mean cocktail.My favorite part of the stay was the outdoor shower. Provided with privacy and incredible vistas. I felt like I was in another world, perhaps Oz. I highly recommend anyone who wants a unique, private experience on Maui to consider Auntie Kali's Cottage. It is a first-rate experience for any traveler.
My husband and I visited in September for our anniversary. This is an absolutely stunning property with everything you need and more. The pool and hot tub are glorious and the tiki bar, outdoor shower, grill, and fire pit made you not want to leave the property! Great care has been taken to make sure guests are comfortable here. Please note that Maui county requires the property manager to be onsite, so you are on the hosts' property. While you have doors leading to your property, you are asked to not lock them meaning the owner can and will walk in at any time. We were a bit taken aback by this as it's not something we've ever experienced with hosts before (usually they will call and ask if they need to access your space while you are there). So, as a result, it never felt quite private to us, but the beauty and comfort of this property made up for it. We highly recommend!
First off, what an absolutely beautiful place. Carrie thought of everything, and the cottage was literally perfect for us and the kids. The pool was outstanding, as were the tradewinds off the ocean. OH! And the stars at night…WOW.The grill…the pool…the fire pit…all amazing. Plus, she set us up with the most relaxing Thai massages and with a snorkeling charter where we swam with sea turtles and a monk seal. We are absolutely coming back again next year!
Auntie Kali's cottage is magical. Plain and simple. I knew it would be special just looking at the pictures, but even those can't capture just how wonderful it is. It is a private oasis; we found it hard to leave and explore Maui on any given day! Of course the pool is incredible, and we enjoyed using the grill and fire pit to make s'mores. The home is so incredibly comfortable, with quite literally anything you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. We arrived to an abundance of fruit (some grown right on the property!), homemade banana bread, and such wonderful hospitality from Carrie, the owner. It is located close to beaches, shopping, and restaurants, but when you're behind those doors, it is as if you are far, far away in your own special resort that is 100% yours! There is no doubt...this place is very special.

Our family of 4 stayed for a week and a half and I can’t say enough good things about our time there. The property is so much better than the photos can convey, it really is a little piece of paradise. We enjoyed the privacy of having the pool and outdoor kitchen/bar, the view of the ocean and Molokini, and the house itself had everything we needed and more. Truly a special place! Highly recommend staying here!!
Everything about the cottage is perfect, you won't even want to leave. The backyard is your private oasis and is perfect for kids. Everything was clean, well cared for, and a great host.

Auntie Carrie's cottage is as close to heaven on earth as you can find. We stayed with our best friends for eight amazing days. The cottage pictures look great online but don't do it proper justice.Carrie was wonderful and we were fortunate enough to get to know her a bit during our stay. Love this cottage property, it’s your own private paradise with pool, hot tub, BBQ & Tiki Bar all to yourself. It’s even better in-person & perfect for a getaway, it’s close to beach, restaurants, sights & resorts. It has everything you need & then some, we highly recommend it. Carrie is a great Host and so responsive. We stay at Auntie Kali’s Cottage every time we get away to Maui! Thanks for another relaxing, fun stay in Maui!
We booked this stay expecting a lot based on the previous reviews. Believe me when I tell you we got even more than we expected! This cottage and the surrounding pool area are perfection!! Carrie has absolutely everything you need to stay. She even has yoga mats and robes!
Carrie and Danny were so accommodating and helpful! She even had fresh fruit from her yard waiting for us. Her home is located right by many shops,restaurants and beaches. It’s just a quick drive to everything. My family will absolutely stay here again if we get back to Maui!
When I booked Aunty Kali's Cottage, I never imagined that paradise would be ours for a week. I'll tell you that the pictures really don't do it justice. The views of the ocean at sunset, the beautiful native plants and flowers, and even the wildlife (mongooses and all!). Having a pool and bar even made the cottage the Happy Hour spot for our family to come to before dinner.
Aunty Kali was also amazing, greeting us with a warm smile and a delicious homemade banana bread. She was so attentive and hospitable and we will, without doubt, be returning time and time again.

Our family loves the private outdoor area and pool - it makes you feel like you have your own tropical oasis. The owner is kind, caring and responsive.
