Kaleialoha 406 is a beautiful 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom condo with a direct ocean view from your private lanai and living room. This condo has all the comforts of home with a recently remodeled kitchen. Enjoy your morning coffee out on your lanai while you take in the island breeze and look for sea turtles swimming in the distance.

Initially, the rental seemed fine. It had all the amenities it stated, and the view was gorgeous. Check in was simple and straightforward. However, in a few short hours after arrival, we found ourselves surrounded by dozens of cockroaches. I can’t even describe how many bugs appeared throughout the rental. I understand maybe coming in contact with a couple since it is a subtropical climate, but this was not the case. We were not given an opportunity to relocate that night and were told to wait until morning so someone could come spray the bugs and set out bait. That night was awful, we were killing cockroaches and bugs the whole night and barely slept since the pests were in the bedroom too. The next day they sprayed a whole can of raid and set out about 12 bait packs. We did not feel comfortable staying there after everything and we moved out to a different place. Management offered one of their other locations which was a studio. Seeing as we originally paid more for a one bedroom, we expected an equivalent alternative so we found an entirely different listing. It took quite a bit of back and forth communication to try and get our money back. Management wanted to still charge us a cleaning fee and overnight stay when the place wasn’t even clean to begin with. Finally after a few days of emailing and sending in pictures of the infestation, management agreed to refund our charges. This was a disappointing experience as the place would have been great otherwise.

We stayed here for 10 days about day 4 one of the neighbors come up to my door and starts yelling at me that my AC is dripping to her balcony 2 floors down! I explained I was a renter and was going to let Maui Property Management know. I called and they stopped by and nothing was done about it. I was without AC the rest of my stay, not to mentioned the place is full of roaches and the next door neighbor left us notes on our door on daily basis. I will never stay at this resort again or any other that Maui property management manages.

Ok…..first of all, We enjoyed our stay in Maui. Ten years is too long😁
The first night we discovered that the AC does not reach into the bedroom at all. Way too warm, even when we opened the windows. One window did not have a screen so at 3 am I was awakened by a four inch Lind praying mantis crawling across my face……
No….I didn’t scream…..though a few choice cuss words were heard in the building.🤬
The next night the smoke alarms went off at 1am…dead batteries. I removed them and went back to sleep. An hour or so later they started chirping..I disconnected them from the 120v wiring and looked for an installation date….no one filled the sticker in☹️
When you do use the barely working AC it blows directly onto the couch and only recliner….we bought blankets to cover ourselves☹️
The AC only works on low and the core loads up with ice occasionally requiring you to shut it off and thaw it out.
The roaches were few and tolerable. Just be sure to clean and put everything away each night.
Cooler was broken. Chairs were functional but corroded. Slider door was hard to open and close due to the track weather stripping combining apart and jamming the rail.
This place has great potential, but is in need of repairs.

Wonderful stay! We watched sea turtles feed every day from our lanai- even saw eels and whales! Quiet, comfortable - would definitely stay here again.

We were totally dismayed when we found out how unkept this property was. The picture on the website obviously old and deceiving. The bedding wasn’t even fresh! And when trying to open the drapes in the bedroom, there was a cloud of dust. Who knows when they were last cleaned? We have pictures to prove the dirt in this place and contacted Maui properties who arranged for a total clean. The table on the lanai is crumbling granite and that pineapple ornament on top was dangerously sharp and rusted out. Fans were covered in a layer of dirt and arm chairs also. Coffee pot was rusted and all but one mug were chipped. It’s one thing to charge the those big$ but you must give value and the homes should be
immaculate. There was more but this gives you the picture. Someone needs to look after things here.

Turtles at sight from the place we stayed at. Beautiful sunsets and views every day. Comfortable and close to everything we went for and wanted to do. Thanks again for everything!! Mahalo.

They are doing a major plumbing project on this property and the noise next to us was unbearable. Water was shut off each Wednesday. We should have been made aware of this at the time we made our reservation. I think we should receive some prorated refund for this inconvenience.

Overall renting this property has been a 10/10 experience.
The pros:
Location - great food/coffee/cafe spots just a short walking distance. Also a very short drive to Whalers Village and Front St. where all of the restaurants/bars/shopping is located.
Views- the most spectacular view from the lanai. We enjoyed eating as many meals as we could from our balcony. The sunsets that we witnessed were incredible.
Cleanliness- the place was spotless and the towels and bedding were also well kept up.
Supplies- everything to get us through our week stay was provided. (Paper towels, trash bags, laundry pods, dish soap etc.)
Beach gear - 2 beach towels, 2 nice Tommy Bahama chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler was provided.
Kitchen- coffee maker, toaster, blender, upgraded amenities provided. Every pot/pan/utensil we needed for our stay was provided.
Beach access- this depends on the time of the year, but luckily for us there was a small sandy beach in front of the building where we swam and snorkeled. We saw a few sea turtles swim by everyday and colorful fish.
AC- the previous reviews had me a little worried about the AC but we stayed in hot 85-90 degree weather during august and the AC unit in the front room worked great to cool the place down. There was also multiple ceiling fans throughout. Extra fans were in the bedroom as well which worked great. We were always comfortable to get a good nights sleep.
The cons (very minimal)
- the cooler handle was broken so it was difficult to take to the beach
- no umbrella or floatation devices were provided. We had to rent an umbrella and buy noodles.
- the water was shut off from 9 am - 4pm on Wednesday. The management company was not aware of this so it was not their fault that the building was being maintained.
- the WiFi was extremely weak. Do not plan to use this. We had to use our hotspot to get the smart tv to connect to any apps (Netflix, Hulu)
Overall the cons were very minimal and did not affect our stay. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this to any couple looking for a great quiet spot. 10/10.
