turtles, whales, spinner dolphins. crashing waves and spray is spectacular. property is very well equipped and organized. owners are experienced and always helpful and accomodating.
Spent a week in this beautiful update condo. Slept with the windows open and loved the sound of the surf on the ricks below. Breakfast lunch, cocktails and dinner on the deck over looking the vast ocean of whales, turtles below and dolphins. One of the nicest units we have ever stayed in. Did not have enough to do everything we wanted to on Kaui and will be back. Parish is a great property company to work with and did a great job communicating before, during, and after our stay.
Loved the location. Plenty to do and nice walk along the water.
Our favorite part of the day was to sit on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the crashing waves and the turtles come and go. Most days we were graced with dolphins and rainbows as well. The unit had everything we needed and was quiet and clean. The property itself is older but this did not bother us at all. The pool is small but was never crowded when we were there. Everyone we met was very friendly so chatting at the pool was nice. It was a short walk or drive if you had gear to Poipu or shipwreck beach. We had a great stay and would recommend the unit for a small family.
This great beachfront corner wrap around lanai location was just the spot for watching the humpback whales, sea turtles and colorful sunsets. This condo also has huge windows all around. The unit was spotlessly clean and very spacious. It is a very short walk from Poipu and Shipwreck Beaches. Highly recommended.
The perfect place to stay on Kauai!
Gorgeous and tastefully decorated, spacious condo with unparalleled views of crashing waves, sea turtles and vibrant sunsets! We even saw whales and dolphins in the distance. Close to the beach and some great meals at nearby restaurants (Eating House, Red Salt, food trucks in neighboring towns). Loved the proximity to Waimea Canyon, Port Henry (Boating tours launch here), Botanical Gardens, Spouting Horn, Old Koloa, Etc). Spent many parts of our day just watching the waves crash and spotting sea turtles. Although this is in a development of condos, it is very quiet and this particular condo feels isolated from any other vacationers.. a true getaway! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
Fantastic condo - location, only a few steps away from the ocean and the waves washing up against the rocks below is so relaxing.
The lanai is unbelievably wide, providing amazing views in any direction, the kitchen, living room and bedrooms are very spacious and have all the amenities you will require….
The Makahuena complex in general could be challenging for those older and looking to avoid steps in accessing units, however there are a few areas where ramps may help.
We had a fantastic time in Kauai, can’t wait to return.
Right on the water, watching the waves break, this unit has a stunning view. Nice big common area, glass windows and doors in 2 directions, there was no reason to leave. Would definitely return.
We loved our time back at The Makahuena in Po’Ipu! From watching sea turtles in the surf to whales breaching further out to beautiful southwest views of the sunset, this property offers so much just from the lanai.
The unit was clean. Kitchen clean and well stocked with plenty of counter space for food prep. Spacious dining and living room area as part of the open kitchen/dining/living room floor plan.
Property mgmt was responsive to inquiries and requests.
Property is conveniently located to nearby restaurants, stores, and attractions. My partner got a beautiful bouquet of tropical flowers at a very reasonable price from The Blue Orchid to add a little extra to this already perfect space.
We enjoyed our 11 nights back on Kauai and highly recommend this property.
