We love Molokai Shores, and were so happy to stay again for the first time since 2019. This unit was great, but looked like it had been sitting since being cleaned so there was a layer of dirt in the loft bedroom area and in the closets. The main bedroom, kitchen and showers were clean as were the sheets. We will still return, just wanted to be honest about our stay.
Do not get me wrong everything worked out just fine.....But We rented a unit with 2 bedrooms and a loft, (4 adults, 2 children) what We got was a 2 bedroom with a roll out bed and a blow up mattress that we had to set up in the living room (a pain to have to set up and take down every day) they Did refund some days for this inconvenience (they said that the owner was remodeling and did not get finished in time (someone else said they had this happen also)) the staff and grounds keepers where wonderful and did a great Job! the place is in a great location, with a beautiful view, beds were fairly comfortable (no air condition) but the Fans worked good except the guest bedroom fan sounds like the bearings are going out.
Stayed for a week and the property was well maintained, nice pool and great location.
We had an email that our check out was at 12 noon on Sunday and didn't bother to read the booklet in the room so we were a bit surprised when the housekeeping were at our door from 8 AM
So I booked this unit because of the views and sunsets from inside and from the large deck. They were beyond awesome. The unit was described as worn and in need of updating. I totally agree. It was very worn, dirty and minimally furnished. They tried to have me stay in another unit that was updated but the views were not as good at the road noise was bad. Staff was very nice. The buildings and grounds well maintained. Very friendly folks. This could be the best unit if it was fixed up.
We enjoyed our room. The roosters were a little noisy but not a big deal. Enjoyed the experience.
WE WERE APPROVED FOR, AND PAID FOR TOP UNIT OF BLDG "C" ON THE EAST END OF THE BLDG. THREE OR SO DAYS BEFORE WE WERE TO DEPART FOR OUR TRIP WE LEARNED THAT WE WERE ASSIGNED TO APT 317 OF BLDG "B" WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS UNIT WAS SO MUCH "BETTER" THAN THE ONE WE SELECTED IN BULDING "C" . THE UNIT IN BLDG B WAS DISGUSTINLY FILTHY. THE TILE FLOORS HAVE NEVER BEEN STEAMED CLEANED, THE COUCH WAS FILTHY, NO LAMP FOR READING IN THE LIVING ROOM, SEATS ON DECK CHAIRS WERE ITERALLY FALLING APART. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. VERY POOR REPRESENTATION. I EXPECTED MORE BY USING VRBO.
Don’t be fooled by the shiny photos. This place is worn out to the point of breakage. Doorknobs falling off, cabinet doors that won’t shut, drawers that fall out unless care is taken. Lots of water damage in bathrooms (tho’ toilets are new- phew!)Major cobwebs in the rafters. The saving graces of this place 1: a million dollar view from the comfortable lanai- thrilled with the whale watching and the sunsets. 2: great Castle Rock staff. Sent someone over -twice- to remedy the blown fuse/lack of power upon our arrival, and the staff that retrieved my husbands lost Crocs. Oh and 3: beautiful grounds and an awesome pool. So if you don’t plan on spending a lot of awake hours in the Condo, it’s a 4!
The location here can't be beat and the condo has great bones. Unfortunately, it it also has numerous repairs that need to be made and is lacking some essentials that's you'd typically get in a vacation rental.

Still a very nice place to stay. Loved the outdoor amenities such as pool and grills. Staff and other guests/owners are very nice.
