The views from this recently remodeled and continuously upgraded third/top floor direct OCEANFRONT unit are spectacular, with the clear blue-green ocean vista and radiant sunsets over the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i. From the lanai, you are only 25 feet from the ocean where turtles feed in the rocks just steps from the Magic Beach! Located in the Kuleana resort with only seven 2-3 story buildings, enjoy the best of Hawaii with it’s tropical beauty and unsurpassed views. Kuleana is considered one of the most beautiful and impeccably maintained oceanfront properties in West Maui, offering luxurious living in a peaceful, serene setting. Seasonal humpback whale watching is available directly from our lanai using the spotting telescope or high power binoculars provided in this unit (or take an even closer look with a Pacific Whale Foundation cruise from Lahaina harbor). In addition to the multitude of sea turtles, other sea life such as dolphins, manta rays, eagle rays and monk seals can be seen right outside your door. The property has two beaches and a sea ladder, all providing easy entry into the crystal clear ocean for snorkeling in the private snorkel cove, surfing, paddle boarding, boogie boarding (yes, the waves are good!), kayaking or simply relaxing in the water. A coral reef exists straight out from the property, enhancing the snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, and boogie board activities.
This unit was purchased in June, 2015 and completely remodeled as our second home and vacation rental in paradise. All new tropical furniture and decorations have been added to compliment the softly colored walls and insure complete submersion in the Hawaiian experience, with careful attention given to comfort, safety and storage. The top of the line plush firm Cal King bed in the bedroom provides relaxing comfort and support while being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean. Although the ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom are usually sufficient to pull in the cooling trade winds and keep the unit comfortable, the bedroom has a new air conditioner that's large enough to cool the entire 510+ sq ft interior space on those few days in the summer when it's hot and/or humid. The bedroom has ample storage for personal belongings, with a large mirrored closet, mirrored dresser and 15 inch high bed frame to allow storage of large suitcases and extra linens under the bed. The view from the unit is out of this world.
If you like to wake up to the gentle sound of the waves on the rocks, then this unit may be right for you.
If you like to see turtles from the comfort of the lanai, then this unit may be right for you.
If you like to walk 15 feet to reach the beach for snorkeling, then this unit may be right for you.
Overall, we had one of the best vacations!

Beautiful views and great location to things we wanted to do. There was a stinky cooler we could not use, one of the Tommy Bahama chairs was broken, along with a leaky face mask and non working snorkel. We could not use those items offered in the description, other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

View could not be beat! Sunsets, waves and turtles! Love the tiki torches on the property at night and close access to the beach with great snorkeling. Everything you need is there and well organized. Owners are great and responsive. Only wish list item would an in-unit washer/dryer. Would 100% stay again!

This resort never disappoints us. Wonderful views from the lanai & overall we really enjoyed our stay in this unit. A couple of items that could be addressed. The towel bar in the bathroom was loose from the wall & the shade on the lanai could not be lowered by the crank as it was broken. We manually lowered it. The air conditioner in the bedroom works great but is very loud. The unit itself is very clean but just needs a little maintenance done. Note: the laundry room is no longer coin operated machines so be aware you need to download an app & load money onto the app or purchase a laundry card & load funds. A little confusing but we figured it out. We will return to Kuleana as we love the resort!

We had an amazing time at the Kuleana Resort! The lanai was phenomenal - best place to enjoy morning coffee while watching the turtles eating their breakfast below along on the rocks. Seeing the whales offshore with the amazing binoculars provided in the unit was an awesome experience each morning. The unit was comfortable for my family of four (two tween girls). We enjoyed hearing the ocean waves lulling us to sleep each night. Great neighborhood location. Definitely recommend this unit and resort - the turtles are amazing to watch and snorkel with! Thanks for a wonderful Christmas vacation!
