Wonderful 2-bedroom unit on the side of owner's house. We had complete quiet and privacy, and owners were helpful when needed. Located in the hills above Kona, so it's cooler than down at the beach, but only a short drive to town and the beaches. You feel like you are "living in Kona," not staying in a hotel in Kona. Beach chairs and umbrella were onsite.
The hosts, Sandy and Brad made the checking process a breeze. They communicate well and are very friendly and accommodating. The accommodation is very nice and well stocked. Even though the owner lives at the other end of the house, the unit and lanai are very private. We hardly saw anyone. And never heard anyone. The chickens and the cat are adorable. We highly recommend it and would stay again. The next time the big island we will look here first.
We stayed at this property for two weeks - we were so lucky it was available when we needed it unexpectedly and last minute. It was a gem. It is in a quiet residential area higher up a volcano slope and as such is cooler during the day and night than the lower Kona area making it much easier to have a comfortable sleep. It is a very short drive to the airport as well as some main shopping areas. It is close to two of the main highways/belt roads, so navigating is easy. The house itself is beautifully decorated and very well stocked. They have thought of everything you would need including little things like sticky notes and pen, spices, little creamers for coffee and a few coffee pods to get you started, reusable shopping bags, bamboo beach mats, beach chairs, beach towels, large cooler, boogie boards...the kitchen has a slow cooker, dutch oven, rice cooker, cookie sheets and parchment paper, blender, leftover food containers, pots and pans, etc. We cooked all our meals there for 2 weeks and never needed anything. The master bedroom is spacious and comfortable and our son loved having his own room. The shower was always warm and is large. The living room is great for relaxing and you can choose to eat inside or outside. Brad and Sandi, the hosts, are very kind and generous and we loved meeting them and staying at their place. We miss it already!!!
Sandi and Brad's property was just what we were looking for! We stayed 8 nights there. It was charming and cosy.
They had everything from beach towel and chairs to k-cup coffee. Room was clean and charming. We could use bbq pit in yard if we had more time there.
Sandi and Brad were very attentive and friendly.
And location was just perfect! It took only 15min. to Kona airport. Easy commute and great ocean view from street.
I definitely recommend this place. It is much more prettier than pictures. This doesn’t happen often.

The Ohana was just right for our family of four. The kitchen had everything we needed including filtered drinking water, the bedrooms were great, living room was comfy and yay laundry! The washer and dryer were clutch as we packed ~4 outfits over our 9 day stay.
The property was cute, we ate at the outside picnic table one evening and opened the umbrella when it started to rain.
The hosts were really nice and put out some beach chairs and umbrellas to borrow as well!

This place was perfect for our family!! Sandi and Brad were amazing hosts and answered any and all questions we had. Our kids loved having their own bedroom instead of having to sleep on a sleeper sofa in the livingroom like most places. I loved that we didn't have to park in a parking garage all the time. Staying in a house in a neighborhood was perfect! It made the trip more relaxing for sure. The location was great too. We were within 15-20 minutes of a lot of the calmer snorkeling beaches. We will absolutely stay here again when we go back to the big island! Thank you Sandi and Brad!
This is a fantastic property to make your Hawaiian vacation even better!! Sandi and Brad are great hosts that have equipped the home with everything you need to make all your meals with ease. It is 16 minute drive from downtown Kona, however if you truly want to enjoy the Big Island you need to drive everywhere, so the 16 mins seems close. It is a such a lovely quiet retreat that you can recharge your batteries at the end of a busy day exploring and swimming. Our family will be back fore sure in the future!!
This apartment is perfectly clean and spacious. The highlight for us was the lovely outdoor space on a residential property. Fed chickens wandering the neighborhood, enjoyed the song of coqui frogs at night. So much better than a high-rise condo! Highly recommend. Thank you to wonderful hosts, Sandi and Brad!
We loved our stay with Sandi and Brad! They were so welcoming and communication was easy &!awesome.
The rental was easy to find and close to Kona airport. The ramp made it easy to get into and out of the rental. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with enough space for all of us to spread out! They had fresh cold water bottles in the fridge and a dispenser that we could do refills from, it was such a welcome surprise that most places don't have; absolutely loved that!
We didn't spend time cooking, but kitchen was well appointed with pots/pans, utensils, instapot, toaster, keriug, and a variety of spices.
Shower was always hot when needed and enough fans all around to keep us cool! thanks for an awesome stay :)

Beautifully kept little house in Kona. The owners live in a unit attached to the rental so if you ever need anything they are right there. They are both very friendly and hospitable. The house is well stocked and very clean. I would have given 5 stars but the washer and dryer they list as available to renters isn’t really accessible. Trying to dry towels by hanging them doesn’t really work in Hawaii. All in all it was lovely and worth staying there, we had a wonderful time!❤️

Sandi was a very generous host. Our arrival was delayed by 2 days, due to weather, and she was very understanding and volunteered to refund a part of the stay, which she did. Very kind.
The place is lovely. Neat and tidy and well stocked. We took full advantage of the welcome basket as we had been flying all day and arrived late, so had no food. Thank goodness for Sandi's gift basket! The unfortunate part is we could only stay one night and did not get a chance to explore the area or enjoy the cottage more.

Sandy is an amazing hostess! She and her husband provided us a beautiful home for four days. Situated in a lovely, peaceful, tropical neighborhood, we were a short drive into Kailiua-Kona, and only a half hour from our preferred A-Bay beach. (Google A-Bay, Kona to see what I mean!)
The ohana guest house is beautifully furnished with everything you might need. Sparkllng clean, the apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was a bit small for providing meals, but who wants to spend time in the kitchen while on vacation?!? The beds are very comfortable. The windows look out on natural tropical beauty in all directions. There is a long porch for rest and reflection. Truly, we could not have asked for better accommodations. Hated to leave, but will forever enjoy the memories of such a lovely spot. Wish we could return one day.

The unit was very clean and airy, with good towels and lots of beach gear, including a cooler and beach towels. It's easy to get to Kona or to the east side of the island from here. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked. Sandi is very pleasant and helpful. We had a great stay.
