The unit was nicely appointed however sparsely equipped for rental.
Cleanliness left something to be desired as a towel and facecloth still had makeup on them and towels were all damp. There was no kettle and some silverware still had food on it and was placed in the drawer. The cleaning fee was reimbursed.
There was salt and pepper flakes as the only condiments.
Information provided upon checkin regarding the internet was incorrect however fortunately the owner had the correct info on what appeared to be a second modem.
The biggest issue we had was the charge for the room which wasn’t noticed until the final payment. The unit had been advertised as $529 CDN/night which was a premium from an equivalent unit we had moved from. Regardless I booked it to be close to friends who were also staying in the building. Instead we were billed $529 US/night which became $700 US or nearly $1000 CDN which is astronomical for Kihei.
It took some doing but it was finally straightened out with VRBO.
The pluses - once the fee was sorted out - it is a nice unit in a well maintained complex. The cleaning however was poor and needed to be remedied. The unit also could use some more supplies considering what it is being rented out at.

The description of unit A-103 states “newly remodeled,” but this is either an outright lie or the cheapest material and labor was used. My family and I have been to Maui over half a dozen times and stay at Maui Kamaole every time. This is the only time I’ve been very disappointed with the unit we reserved. We arrived to find the floors and counters covered in filth and had to call management to have someone come in to mop and clean up crumbs, coffee grounds, and stains. The sofa and armchairs were dated and stained. Everything just looked old and plain. There was also beach equipment in a closet but a few things (umbrella and a kid’s boogie board) were broken. The only bright side is that this unit had a very great ocean view from the lanai.

Too expensive for what we got furniture needs to be replaced . Fridge was all rusty on the front door looks terrible! They show a lounger on deck not there?!! Bathroom needs to be updated leak by the toilet I was not impressed at all with this unit!! Woolf not recommend it !!

Unit location is great. Have stayed in this unit a number of times. However, some of the furnishings need to be upgraded and the unit needs a deep cleaning. The Fridge should be replaced - ice maker doesn’t work and it doesn’t maintain a proper temp. Kitchen utensils lacking ie no cookie sheet or baking pan - which we bought and left there.
The location can’t be beat, and the property was clean, comfortable, and and welcoming! Would stay again.

This rental agency was great...very responsive to questions and concerns. The unit itself did not measure up to my expectations. The furniture is worn, some stained, and a very uncomfortable couch. The mattress is likewise in need of replacing...lumpy and uncomfortable.There was an ample supply of bath towels, but only one beach towel and one useable beach chair. There was a broken beach chair that really ought to be discarded. The photos show a lounge chair on the patio, but there isnt one. Photos should be updated or find the lounge!There were enough dishes for the unit, but an oddly mismatched jumble of kinds (some glass, mismatched TV setup is difficult—I had to call for assistance to get it to work. I was surprised there was no TV in the bedroom.The view is wonderful, but there are similar units on the property with similar views. I would definitely stay at Maui Kamaole again, but not in unit A-103. Not sure what parts of this condo were “newly remodeled—-possibly tile work in the bathrooms?

It was AWESOME! The view from the front room nad patio are unbeatable!Our ONLY issue was that the TV was not very usable. I finally figured out how to get free movies online, but nothing else really worked. Overall, a wonderful experience. Loved the pool, reserved parking spot, location, A/C. The bed was comfy. We'll be back!
