The space was clean, mostly updated, and fairly well appointed. Appreciated the beach equipment and towels, plus helpful kitchen items like Ziploc bags, Tupperware, etc.
The lanai is delightful, with a great view of the ocean and pool. The grounds are well kept.
The primary bedroom is small/challenging to navigate with suitcases, and the bed is very worn (uncomfortable). The AC unit in the bedroom is loud - way too loud for sleeping - and the glass door in that bedroom (a foot from the bed) leads directly to the outdoor hallway, so it's not desirable to open that for airflow either. so nights were warm and we were tired.
Overall a good stay, some changes would have made a big difference.
We are completely happy with this condo. I would recommend it to friends. The bedrooms were ok but the a/c in both were so very noisy! Other than that a great place for the family and so close to shopping, food trucks,great beaches!
This location was great! A short drive got us to various beaches for the kids and the amenities kept them busy when we were there. Very comfortable and beautiful grounds.
We had so much fun! The property was just as subscribed. Having beach chairs and boogie board available was amazing. Will be staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The closest beach is not swimmable but is pretty quiet if you just want to lounge. There seems to be alot of elderly people that stay here but our teenagers still had a good time. The condo was clean and it had beach gear (chairs, towels) which was really nice.
We only stayed for the weekend because we had a family event in Kahului. So while we didn’t take full advantage of the property amenities, the courtyard was beautiful and the unit itself was very nice and clean. We’ll be back in May, will check the Vrbo site if it will be available. Thanks!
We had a marvelous time at this beautiful property. There are so many amenities & great for families.
This was mine and my husband’s 5th stay at the Maui Sunset (1st time in this unit).
Pros: The Maui Sunset has beautiful grounds and pool area which is the main reason why we love it so much and continue coming back. This was our first trip with kids ages (5, 2 &1) and they also loved the pool, hot tub, shuffle board and running on the grass. It’s very family friendly and a great central location to a lot of the island activities and restaurants. The unit itself worked well for our family of 6, the kitchen is remodelled and has everything you need to prepare meals. The spare bedroom closet is stocked with beach chairs, umbrella, toys, cooler and even a stroller. The unit is located very close to the pool which was an added bonus to be able to watch my older kids in the pool from the patio while my youngest slept.
Cons: We only have one and that is the cleanliness of the unit. It is tidy and organized but we found it could really use a deep clean. If you walked around barefoot, your feet would be black with dirt. The bathrooms aren’t updated which is fine but they need something because they have a lot of grime and mildew in and around the shower and toilets. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, spatulas, tupperware etc but to be comfortable using them I had to really clean because they had leftover remnants from past use. It just gave an ick feeling.
Overall, We enjoyed our time and it worked for our family. I would consider staying at this condo again.
