This property was perfect for my visit to Maui. I had stayed at this property back in January 2023 and was very happy to be able to stay once again. The condos location makes it convenient for activities. The gentleman in charge of maintaining the everyday maintenance of the complex worked hard to ensure the grounds were clean and accessible. I would highly recommend staying at this property.

Wow! This property was such a hidden gem and my family and I loved staying here for 15 nights over Christmas and New Years. The condo is located on a quiet street right by the Maalaea Harbor and the complex is well taken care of. Compliments to the gentleman who cleaned the pool area and the grills every morning. The listing was very accurate and the price was right!
Positives: This is our second time visiting Maui and we absolutely loved this location. Access to the west and south beaches took anywhere from 10-45 minutes and it was awesome to be able to check the weather report and pick our beach accordingly. The kitchen and fridge were small, but well stocked and had everything we needed to cook our meals. The unit had 3 beach chairs and a beach umbrella, which was an added bonus. The coolest part about this unit though was the snorkeling spot we found about 200 yards away from shore, complete with a turtle washing station!
Negatives: Maalaea was very breezy every day. The couch/hide-bed was not comfortable or adequate for four. Only three of us could sit on the couch at a time and there wasn't another cushioned chair for the fourth person. We only had 3 beach towels. We were wishing the unit had a hanging system on the lanai to dry towels and some hooks for the wetsuits.
If you are looking for a comfortable condo with a great location to everything, this is the place for you!

We had a great time spending our 45th wedding anniversity in Maui. Weather was great despite being very windy the first two days. Accomendations were very nice and everyone was very friendly and helpful.
We love Maalaea Bay and have stayed next door at Milowai several times but we actually liked Maalaea Kai even better! Great view from the lanai. Watching the cute sea turtles 🐢 from the grounds and the lanai is so much fun. The pool is awesome! And grilling out by the ocean is incredible. We'll be back!!!
We had a beautiful stay at this property! The ocean breeze and sound of the waves coming in through the sliding door was so healing, so relaxing, the condo was so comfy and homey, and we loved every minute of it! This condo has pros & cons. Pro - amazing view, location. Super clean.
Con- everything is basic and i don't think anything has been upgraded in years. No wine glasses, pans we're super beat up, couch is very uncomfortable.
I'd only stay in this complex again, but not this condo unit.

Our family booked the stay through VRBO. The mgt information for this unit was accurate and we were able to see turtles from our balcony as advertised! The view was very good also for sunrise and sunset. No direct sunlight, which is nice since then it gets too hot. The facility has been well taken care of and linens, kitchen, bathroom were in very good condition and clean upon arrival. I would have given this a 5 star for general condition, but there was a slight (very light brownish walk track from the tiled kitchen floor to the balcony). I vacuumed two times with the provided unit vacuum just in case there was sand from previous use & since we take off our shoes upon entering (did not want bare feet/socks getting dirty), but it was just a light brownish tint (no sand) compared to the rest of the newer carpet. Just from general use & prev cleaning was 'clean'. Nothing that a bissel steam vac couldn't get out in 5 to 10 minutes. Again not a big deal. We would stay again in this unit for sure. Walking dist to aquarium & ships harbor too! A beach was within walking dist too. Probably the best one we were at for the whole island due to proximity, privacy and swimming with a turtle!
This condo was as described. It had a comfortable bed and everything you might need for a beach vacation. The location was great for driving to all locations in the island. One thing to be sure to notice is that there is no air conditioning which is listed in the description , I just didn’t realize. There are great cross breezes, though and some fans to help if it gets warm. The evenings were comfortable but it got a bit warm during the day. We were gone most of that time so it didn’t matter. You cannot swim here, but there are nice beaches all over. The setting is beautiful.

This was our second time renting this unit at Maalaea Kai. We love the unit and the location. It's nice to be away from the crowds you find at the large resorts. Unit was clean and we like renting through Hawaii Life Real Estate. We pretty much stayed on Pacific Time so that we could be up every morning to watch the sunrise from here. A great place to see them. It's also relaxing to sit on your lanai deck or down on the grounds and watch the boats go in and out of Maalaea harbor. We will definitely rent this unit again on any future visits we have to Maui. Gret central location - Drive to Kihea or Lahania is about same distance. Only a 10 minute drive from the airport

The best you could do is open the screen door in the window, but then the drapes on the window would blow open and there would be no privacy. This place is the reason I hate Vrbo. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money and go stay at a hotel on a beach and enjoy Hawaii.

This was an excellent mid island. Location with 10 to 20 minute access anywhere. The best location for viewing whales and turtles right offshore of the condo. Loved the tradewinds to keep things cool. We will definitely return to Ma’Alaea Kai

Cannot beat the view and wake up to the sound of waves hitting the shore. In a good pocket of Maui where everything is somewhat close. Great place to come and relax.

Outstanding condo, awesome view from the lanai, quiet, good parking, nice pool, great amenities in the room. I really enjoyed the camera tripod to borrow and take pictures and sunset pictures. Beach chairs could use an upgrade. Property manager was awesome and provided quick response getting us a couple of much needed box fans. Made a world of distance. Great fun looking for and seeing literally hundreds of turtles on the beach wall out in front. Friendly and helpful condo maintenance personnel. Excellent and well organized recycling area, reduced garbage a lot. Good to see.

We were very happy with the condo location and the condo itself. It was very clean and well supplied with beach equipment. Although the unit has no A/C, the trade winds blow right through the unit keeping it well ventilated. The only unfortunate thing was a scheduled yard maintenance spread manure over the entire lawn while we were there which caused the whole area to smell and make the pool/lawn unusable for a couple of days. Although unavoidable, our rental agent was supposed to inform us about it but did not. Even still, I would stay there again without hesitation.

We had a great time as usual but after 30 years of visiting Maui, we are calling this our last trip. Becoming too far and too expensive. Our stay at Maalaea Kai 316 was OK we missed a dishwasher, and the carpets were kind of dirty. My wife also picked up some bites on her ankles and dont know where the came from. Still bothered by them as of 3/8/20 We left Maui on 2/19/20.

Our stay at Maalaea Kai was simply put, wonderful. The facility, condo, grounds, pool, lawn, day and nighttime views, laissez-faire way of being, safe surroundings, and central "quiet corner" location gave us everything we wanted for our vacation "headquarters". We stayed there and rested, circumnavigated the island for 2 days, swam in the pool and the local beach park, hiked the long beach south and played visual tag with the scores of sea turtles. For skywatchers, we saw several meteors decorate the night as we ate candlelight dinners out on our balcony. MAHALO to all who delivered this to us.
