The Honua Kai buildings, location and setting are just beautiful! We have stayed at Honua Kai twice and love it there.
This particular unit is large, with a lovely lanai, a view of the ocean and pools.
The bedrooms and living space are very comfortable.
The only thing about this unit that was a bit of a hassle was the kitchen was not stocked with any of the basics as far as spices, tupperware, foil, etc. There are plenty of dishes, utensils, a cook/bake ware.
The other issue we had was that the elevator closest to our unit was out of order for all 10 days that we were there. My husband is on crutches and having to deal with the stairs was a MAJOR challenge.
Even without the cooking basics, I would definitely stay here again!

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Honua Kai! Booking through KBM offered a discount versus booking directly through the result - and we got the same service. Both Alexis and Justin were friendly and helpful. The booking process was hassle-free and check-in is very easy with clear instructions about what to do.
The unit was the perfect size for our family and the location couldn't be beat. Having a BBQ on the lanai was awesome so you didn't have to worry about getting down to the BBQ's early to get a "space". The amenities at the resort are great and all staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.
We plan to visit Maui again (likely Honia Kai) and would book with KBM again.
The condo was perfect! The view from the lanai was overlooking one of the pools and could see the ocean. Having the private BBQ was very nice, which we used several times during our stay. The bedrooms are roomy as well as the rest of the living area. We would definitely rent this condo again!
KBM made our trip so easy to book, we will never go back to using a travel agency!
Beautiful 2 br. unit with amazing private balcony and private BBQ. Sunset / water view is great even if just on 2nd floor. Nice view of pools and well maintained gardens as well. Can watch over the kids playing at the pool from balcony. Would rent the same type of unit (beachfront) if we come back. Higher floor would probably be a bit nicer .. but also more $$ ... No issues with KBM. Very responsive onsite and provided a smooth experience.
We were extremely pleased with the great location, cleanliness, and beautiful condo and resort! Very family friendly! We had a great time at the pools. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Konea 201 was a fantastic unit in Honua Kai. The pool, resort and ocean views were amazing.
This condo was amazing. Perfect location, not too much noise, easy to get to via the stairs just a few feet from the entrance. Beds were comfortable, found cookware to be adequate. SO much room for a family of four-felt like we needed a few more people in it! The lanai is the best part-somewhat private but what a view!! We used the beach chairs and boogie boards the whole vacation.
Duke's was AMAZING every time we ate there. Highly recommend the takeout option, it was fast and easy. A'ina Market also had amazing food and the market on site, although expensive had a great selection.
Issues we had: 1) the showers had some mold in the grout and the shower heads need to be cleaned. 2) The listing said beach towels are provided with each KBM condo but ours had NONE. This was a pain since we did not bring any with us due to that description. 3) A condo this nice, at this price point should have smart TV's. Even the most basic hotel has smart TV's these days. The cable channels were terrible. 4) Often in VRBO's you find basics like foil, saran wrap, etc. perhaps left from prior guests. This unit had none of that. We had to buy saran wrap. I hope it was left for the next guests. 5) The faucet at the kitchen sink needs to be replaced. 6) Parking in the underground garage for Konea is non-existent after 8pm so be sure to get back to the hotel early if you are worried about parking. One night we returned at 9:15 and I had to park on the far side by the other building, which is not very close by.
Beautiful condo and very responsive team if we had questions or needed to make reservations. Highly recommend!
