Amazing location and property, the unit itself could use some tlc
We liked the unit and it's location, it hasn't been updated for some time. We reported a problem with the bathtub, water came out of both the shower and tub, the lever was stuck. It wasn't fixed while we were there. Blackout curtains are full of holes, cabinet hardware is broken. A few inexpensive updates would make the unit nicer.would make head same time,
We booked room 656 at the last minute. Staff were lovely as usual, but unit is in serious need of refurbishment. Great location toward front of tower on the 6th floor, but bathroom is in sad shape. Carpets need to be replaced or deep cleaned, kitchen cabinets are in need of repair. Unit is well stocked with supplied for living as well as for the beach. Just needs to be updated - a full remodel would not be out of place, but probably to expensive given the current economic climate. All in all, we DID enjoy our stay
We have stayed at the whalers several time, love the location, close to shopping and restaurants and the beautiful beach
I would recommend this unit to others and would stay here again. The views are amazing from the Lanai and unit is in a great location! Right next door to a number of restaurants and shopping, and the Luau we went to was just a short walk to the Sheraton at Black Rock. The unit itself was pretty dated and could use some cosmetic attention but we were comfortable. The bathtub didn't drain very well and the AC unit in the bedroom helped with airflow but wasn't pushing cold air. A few things that would have been nice to know before our stay (didn't see these things in the description) is that there is a washer and dryer inside the unit, along with some beach chairs/ umbrella and boogie boards and some sand toys for the kids- we ended up renting these items through our car rental on Turo, but they had some in the unit for use. There are also onsite beach equipment rentals and free-to-use beach chairs near the pool area. The pool was nothing fancy but a nice place to cool off, and the hot tub was nice at night. Our family of 4 didn't have any issues getting poolside chairs any of the days we were there, in other places we have stayed this was always a bit of a challenge. There aren't onsite food and beverage services but you are allowed to bring your own to the pool, just nothing in glass. They also have BBQ areas on both sides of the pool. Something to know if you are bringing kids, the pool is 5-6 feet deep throughout. The staff and beach at the Whaler were great!

The Whaler is a wonderful facility, great location & we will happily stay there again. However, I strongly advise booking through different management. This unit is represented by Chase N Rainbows & our experience could not have gone much worse.
We were scheduled to stay 11/28-12/3. We were told that "There may be times during the day that lanai may not be accessible" this proved untrue. Our unit was under construction & we learned from on site personnel there would be work on our unit & the lanai would be inaccessible for the entirety of our stay with the view blocked. In addition, they would be grinding, spalling, sealing & painting the concrete roof of the lanai, as well as the exterior, which would result in off gassing. We were scheduled to stay there with our 1 & 3 year old, & the check in staff advised us not to expose our children to the work. The listing was misrepresented, as was the scope of work.
I emailed property management immediately with pictures. No response. I called later that day, they did not follow up. I offered alternate solutions, they were inflexible & stated that any cancellation would result in zero refund. I had to find alternate accommodations on the same day, which cost my family a full day of vacation.
The staff at The Whaler itself could not have been nicer & they even tried to find us an alternative & communicated directly with Chase N Rainbows. We will definitely stay at The Whaler again, but never through Chase N Rainbows
Great 1 bedroom condo with a breath taking view.
From the balcony(lanai) you can see the ocean, beach, black rock, and 2 islands Lanai and Molokai. Furnishings are older but well kept. Condo could use some minor repairs. But still cozy and comfortable. It also had beach chairs and toys for the sand. Full kitchen and flatware, plates, cups, glasses pots and pans.
The property was more than adequate with a stunning view from the lanai. Overall the property is a little dated, mainly in hard floors and carpet. Trim and doors need some paint also. Other aspects of the condo such as bedding, towels, etc. were fine. Spent 7 nights here and were happy with our stay.
Four girls stayed here and we loved everything about it! The location is unbeatable the view is beautiful, it’s right next to the best beach witch is also good for snorkeling (so many fish and turtles by the rock). Having whalers village just steps away and full of so many shops and restaurants was a huge bonus! The condo was clean, there was 8 towels and the kitchen was full of all the essentials for cooking. The space is bigger than it looks in pictures and everything worked great! There is a hole in the shower ceiling but it’s not a deal breaker. We loved our stay and will for sure be looking forward to coming back!
Beautiful house with all the amenities included with laundry, beach chairs. We loved it.
