Great property. In the middle of the east side of the island the location gives 30-45 minutes drive to the Princeville (north side) of the island or the south side. This unit was very clean. The resort is simple and not grand but relaxing. The view from the balcony and unit is just as it shows in the pictures. The air conditioning worked great. Only downside is while there is laundry it’s not in the unit, there is a shared laundry facility at 1.50 a load and the machines are a little dated. Not a grand resort but the location was great and this unit itself was VERY nice. We will rent again if we have the opportunity to return. Property is on the sunrise side of the island
Check in was easy. Recieved instructions from management company and grabbed pool keys and parking pass from registration desk.
Loved the location, clean unit, friendly tenants, great beaches and restaurants nearby.

Spectacular in every way! Location, location, location! Right in the heart of Kapaa and walkable to all points of interest. Being on the bike path was a definite plus. For those concerned with too much foot or bike traffic, it's not an issue. This was our 5th time on Kauai but first stay at Pono Kai. Spoiler alert - it won't be our last! This particular unit was very clean, spacious, and has everything you need for your stay. The master bedroom has unforgettable sunrises every morning. Do yourself a favor and don't hesitate to book this unit for your stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Pono Kai A201. This is a recently remodeled two bedroom two bathroom condo. Perfect for our family of four with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The balcony overlooks the ocean as does the master bedroom. And the location of the condo is protected from the high winds in Kapaa. We appreciated the split AC units during the night. Although there aren’t any laundry machines in the unit, they are nearby in the complex.Thank you!

This property was in a good location, on the beach, with a sidewalk along the beach. It was a short walk along the beach walking path to Kapaa restaurants and shops. Safeway was a short drive away, and Kapaa was a central location for exploring the island. The apartment rental was as advertised. Very comfortable. We could see the sun rise every morning from our balcony.

This condo is perfect for a Kapaa stay. The oceanfront view is spectacular and close enough to be lulled to sleep by the ocean yet far enough off the bike trail. The condo is extraordinarily clean, roomy and comfortable! Well appointed with great beach gear. Comfortable beds and the air was very nice to have on humid nights in August. Walking distance to food and sundries. The grounds are beautiful with lots to do there (pool, croquet, volleyball, fire pits, koi pond etc). The only thing we’d add would be a few basic spices for cooking!

Overall, the condo was very nice and clean. The only exception were the bathroom mats that were dirty. I had to use the towels as floor mats. The condo came with beach chairs, umbrella, towels, and few other items that we didn’t use. The view was nice and right off the boardwalk.

We had a great stay in this condo! Communication through Kauai Vacation Rentals was clear throughout the booking and payment process. Check in was easy. Condo was clean and beds were very comfortable. View was amazing! Location, steps from the beach and walking path along the shore was perfect for daily sunrise watching. A/C was nice to have, but not needed much due to island breeze. Appreciated beach chairs, cooler, and boogie boards in the unit!

Location was fabulous. Located on the East coast both the North and South shore were a short drive away. The bike path outside our unit provided a wonderful morning walk. With an ocean front condo we were disappointed with the obscure sliding glass door. We could only enjoy the views when the slider was fully open. Unfortunately we had stromy weather on two of our days and the rains were so strong along with a hole in our porch gutter, our porch flooded and flowed into our living room. Thus we were required to keep our slider close and our beautiful ocean view was completely obscured. What a bummer!

We had a wonderful experience going through Kauai Vacation rentals for our condo rental. Their communication was excellent and informed us every step of the way. The condo was exactly as presented on their website. Everything we needed for a very comfortable stay was provided. The oceanfront view was even more beautiful in person! One day we rented bikes (right on the bike path walking northbound about a half-mile) and the ride was one of my favorite days. You can ride southbound all the way to Lydgate Beach.
If you are a chocolate lover, explore the possibilities at the Lydgate Farm (a car drive).

If you love a beautiful ocean view and listening to the ocean and tradewinds, this is the place for you. A beautiful many-mile bike path along the east-side ocean separates you from a little-used beach that seems safer for swimming than other Kauai beaches. Listen to the wind and ocean all night in your ocean-front bedroom, and wake to the Kauai roosters. Unit needs updating, but was clean, spacious and met our needs. Unit has beach chairs and boogie boards and beach-goers can shower off sand, or pool and hot tub on property. Watch a few fishing boats leave from the river. Location, location, location says it all for us. Pono Kai in Kapaa town is a good central location for island visitors, ocean-front restaurants at Sam’s, the Oasis, Lava Lava, and Crooked Surf. Safeway groceries near by ....get a discount card. Kauai Vacation Rentals was a pleasure to deal with.
