We were so fortunate in choosing Makena Surf for our vacation spot in Maui. It was perfect- location, beach access, snorkeling, views of the ocean and humpbacks and sunsets, and a very well staged condo with great kitchen accoutrements. Everting was first class-thanks for a wonderful visit!
Perfect overlooking the ocean. We loved the location not to mention we had the beach practically to ourselves. Such an amazing stay.

Absolutely outstanding condo and experience! First, the location is unbeatable. Away from crowds on one of the most beautiful parts of the island, right on one of the best beaches and reefs. Matter of fact, the snorkel boats pull up with their tours right in front of the property, but don't worry- they don't stay long. It was so great to walk one minute to the beach and swim with sea turtles every day. With three kids, the convenience of walking to the beach and snorkeling is invaluable. Rent gear from Snorkel Bob's just minutes away in Wailea.
The condo itself is beautiful, updated and well-stocked. Nice furniture, bathrooms and amenities. Management is extremely attentive, even calling to check on us the first day. No issues whatsoever- book it, you won't regret it!
The property is set between two of the best beaches in Hawaii. The grounds look like a botanical garden hosting a variety of beautiful flowers, birds and lizards. Colorful reefs border the property, providing a snorkeling paradise of sea life. We did not want to leave!
Great location, watch sunset from the balcony. Very comfortable accommodation. swim with the Turtles just off the point so easy swim from the beach.
2nd time staying at Makena Surf, best place In Wailea
This was a beautiful property, we could not have asked for a better location for our family. A few issues with communication with the rental company and the check in process.
The property was exactly as described - amazing views, we lived on the lanai when we were at the condo! The property management company made everything easy and provided great recommendations, and the location was outstanding - we love the Wailea/Makena area and the Makena Surf is a great complex - a wonderful beach is right outside your door with great snorkeling (we saw turtles every day!!), pool and grounds. We definitely will be coming back!
The condo was very nice; however, for the money, we expected it to be nicer. The lanai & view were great. The kitchen and bathes were very nice. However, the furniture & decor seemed very dated. It looked like it was the furniture from when the condo was first constructed 20 years ago. Our major complaint was the noise. We could hear every step - clomp, clomp, clomp - from the people staying in the condo above us. VERY annoying. We would not book this condo again.
Overall as usual Makena Surf property and unit were great. Ali’i Mgt was very very helpful, communication was excellent and we appreciated their support. Only negative was consistent loud foot traffic and furniture being moved in the unit above us- both weeks. Makena surf accommodations, facilities, beach and staff are all top notch, extremely high standards, friendly. Beaches are perfect.
