Unfortunately, our stay at this property was disappointing and did not meet even basic expectations.The beach accessories provided were all broken or damaged beyond use—nothing was in functional condition. Beach towels were stained and threadbare, which made it feel like cleanliness and guest comfort were not a priority.Inside, there were no bath mats in the bathrooms and no tea towels in the kitchen, which made things inconvenient and uncomfortable. The kitchen itself was not well-maintained—cutting boards were extremely dirty and felt unsanitary to use. Minimal utensils. Knives that have seen much better days, some have large chunks missing from them. Also two rolls of toilet paper for three guest for one week is not enough. The most concerning issue was the bed. The pull out mattress and protector had visible yellow stains, which was not only off-putting but also raised serious hygiene concerns. The first set of sheets we found folded in the closet appeared to be stained and not washed. We did find a new set of sheets that we washed and used instead. The pillow shams in the primary bedroom also appeared dirty so we washed them as well. Instructions for using the tv could use a refresh as it was not very clear and took us awhile to navigate. This property has potential, but it clearly hasn’t been properly maintained or cared for. There were no shade umbrellas at the pool like there was before. Made it very uncomfortable to spend any time at the pool. The property itself has gone downhill since our previous stays. This is our third time staying at this complex and this for sure was the worst stay. We were also informed at check-in that on the day that we are checking out the water to the whole complex would be shut off all day. All we received was a “sorry about that” no offer to discount our stay for the inconvenience. I honestly don’t think we will stay at this complex again.
Happy with the condo, accurately described with a great view. Some vehicle noise was expected due to location, but the views made up for it. Reasonable price (and we booked the same week as the trip). Would rent again in the future! Mahalo!
AC throughout would have been nice, only in Bedrm. No wash clothes. Microwave died, got replaced by Nick, within 1 day!! Great person & service!

Positives - Comfortable bed, clean, great view. Write up was accurate and the office staff was very friendly. Negative - Loud street noise. Once we plugged in the fan from the closet that helped to provide white noise. There were no hand towels in the bathroom and only 1 tea towel. The outside furniture had black mold growing on the bottom of the chair straps. I wonder if there was black mold in the air conditioner as I felt ill the 2 nights it was turned on. It had 4 beach chairs, cooler, snorkel fins, 1 umbrella and boogie boards. We purchased/donated a 2nd beach umbrella.Recommend - If possible someone from maintenance could turn on their air conditioner before arrival that would be helpful. Our first night was quite hot. Also, the baseboards needed a thorough scrubbing. Our favourite restaurant was Coconuts and loved the 30 min walk to Starbucks each morning (60 min round trip). We enjoyed meals at Freds' Taco and Fat Daddy's Smoke House. The beach across the street was fantastic and we loved watching the sun set from the grassy area. Do your big shop and gas up at Costco and smaller shops at Times (more reasonable than Safeway and Foodland). Maui Brewing has good beer (Coconut Hiwa) but don't eat there. We found it was sunnier at the Condo than at Makenna Beach.

Noise! Noise! Noise! Property is near to the ongoing traffic street, while day and night you can hear the vehicle noises clearly, there is not enough sound protection in property. If you decide to sit outside, you will hear noise. On top of that the AC that is fitted in property make loud noises too.

Unit needs work. Towels are gross (white and stained/discolored), silverware in kitchen is horrible, old, knives don’t cut, no large spoons; no dishcloths; only 1 tea towel for drying; outside carpet rolls up, outdoor table, chairs need replacing; indoor carpet all stained; cleaning questionable ...baseboards dirty, fan blades black on ends, floors not washed, feet get black. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UNIT TO ANYONE TO STAY AT

I've stayed in 3 different units at Hale Kamaole. This is a great location being across from Kamaole III beach. Was a bit unsure about being on the ground floor but ended up liking it - super easy access. 177 is clean and appears to have been updated since much of what others complained about I did not see. Would definitely stay in 177 again.

We had a downstairs unit and it was perfect for our family of 4. It was stocked with everything we needed. We had a view of the sunset each night and the BBQ and pool in the middle of the condos were a great place to meet up with all of our family every night. On the busline and across the street from a good beach. Easy walking to some stores and restaurants.

Had to buy beach chairs and umbrella kitchen items old and lacking
Walk across street, across park, to beach (5min).
Patio Closet has beach stuff but needs to be cleaned out. (Key on or next to Refrigerator)
Pool is good but tile bottom is slippery.
Overall very wonderful location, office had a grocery store card (store one gave good discounts/they offer senior/veteran discounts)
Wish they provided enough trash bags to make it the time of stay.
Overall very awesome location, everything within 10 miles. Recommend bringing a Costco card if ya got one. (It’s by the Airport)
