This property is one of the nicest clean and inviting place I have stayed. Check in was easy, location was great and the management was easy to work with. I would highly recommend this property to any travelers.
This property is amazing! The unit had the most amazing view, was spacious, clean, and within walking distance to restaurants and the ocean. Being able to enjoy my morning coffee or an evening glass of wine overlooking the ocean was perfection! This unit was perfect for our group of 5 and could easily accommodate a few more guests. Parking was very convenient and having a washer and dryer were also very useful. One of my favorite things about this place was swimming with sea turtles in the evenings. We saw so many of them! We would definitely return here again!

The condo was beautiful, clean and had everything we need to have a wonderful vacation.
We were so looking forward to this stay, especially after an 8 hour flight delay, but we arrived late at night to roaches in the kitchen. They ranged from large, to small, to tiny baby ones. We instantly knew there was a roach problem. I sent a video to the owner and didn’t receive a response until the next day after I re-initiated a conversation. Her first response was- “you can’t get a refund for bugs, it’s in the rental agreement”. I took her word and felt defeated that we’d have to risk bringing roaches home. She did offer to bring pest control in, which they said they did, but that didn’t make it better, they also offered another unit, but that one also had roaches. After pest control we continued seeing roaches on the counters, black splash, coming out from under the oven. It was disgusting and we chose not to really cook there and avoided the kitchen as much as we could. Mind you we did have Littles so there were times we washed everything with hot water and soap to use what we needed. It was an extreme dent to our trip. I wish I advocated more and fought for a refund and honestly just left after the first night because we weren’t comfortable. Coming home from our trip, we left all our baggage wrapped in bags and ended up washing all our clothes at a laundromat to prevent any roaches coming into our house. I wish they took necessary steps to fumigate the building before allowing guests to stay. We saved up for this vacay 5 years and find it unfair to host families.
We had a total of 5 families of different sizes and age ranges vacationing together. We rented two units in this same building and it was the perfect spot for us! There was plenty of space inside the units to accommodate everyone. Plenty of seating inside and outside and you just can’t beat the views and how close the beach is. I also loved the neighborhood feel of this location versus being in a more resort-like setting. We had all of the same accommodations with a much more private feel.
Our stay at Makani Sands was wonderful! The unit was very nicely remodeled and decorated. Everything we needed was available. The view was AMAZING!!! Would absolutely stay here again!!!

This was our 1st trip to Maui and it was the best vacation we have ever had. The condo was very clean, updated and comfortable. I could not believe all of the ammenities. The owner thought of everything to make us feel comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. It was very difficult to leave.I have all ready shared the information with friends and family. Overall, the location and condo worked perfectly for our family of five (all adults). Check-in was easy, plenty of parking, quiet area, rooms and bathrooms were clean, bbq grill was easy to use, checkout was easy and the condo was right off the beach.
This rental is in a great location which isn’t too far from a grocery store, gas station and other restaurants.
We would definitely book this same condo in the future.

We arrived and found the unit clean and ready for our 7 night stay. The view looking out to the Ocean is the best! We enjoyed visiting with those that live in the complex and those also enjoying their vacation. The evening blowing of the Chonch was an experience we enjoyed. The proximity to all of our adventures we took was a bonus. I would recommend staying here to anyone and would come back.

Once again, Makani Sands was an enjoyable place to stay. This was our 5th visit/stay. We enjoy the location, the friendly staff, and the nice comfortable rooms. This was our first time visiting in December/January. Saw lots of whales, turtles, and other marine life. The weather was awesome, no rain! Just sunshine and beautiful skies. We were truly sadden by the damage due to the fires in Lahaina and supported businesses as much as we could. Prayers go out to ALL people of Maui as they rebuild their lives and homes. Looking forward to our next vacation!
There were stains on blankets and the shower in one of bathrooms did not work from the first day. We contacted to the host and management team of this property through emails, calls, and knocking their office but nothing was reachable. It was horrible experience since our group share only one shower room during the stays. We tried to contact VRBO and this property office to talk about it. There is no action except creating an issue ticket from VRBO.
