We love the location of The Whaler. The views are amazing. You can walk to snorkeling, dining, surfing, etc. The condo itself was fine. The beds felt outdated. The sofa sleeper was very bumpy. The oven didn’t work. There is no laundry in the unit. The internet was down. Housekeeping said it would charge extra for an extra set of sheets for a blow up mattress that was in the unit. We’ve stayed in the Whaler before in better units with better management.
One of the nicest condominiums we have ever stayed at. Very clean well appointed has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Bed is comfortable. Two bathrooms are a huge bonus, and the views are out of this world. There is work going on the outside of building one, but don’t let that stop you. It didn’t bother us at all. I would recommend this property to anybody going to Maui specifically kind of Holly Beach and we will be returning.
We always stay at the Whaler. It is a perfect location on Kaanapalii. The condo was nice. Very clean and well kept. The property management team was very receptive . They fixed a problem in the shower the next day. However check in was a hassle. The room wasn’t ready at 3:00 pm as promised. Staff at the property was indifferent. As many times I have stayed at the Whaler checking in was the worst.
We loved it! Wonderful view of beach and mountains. Staff was friendly. Everything we needed for a week’s stay. Will be coming back!
This unit is a good value for double sided views of the west Maui mountains and the ocean/Black Rock. It's right in the middle of Kaanapali Beach with easy access to shops, restaurants, and a great walking path. The condo is equipped with everything you'd need for a week's vacation like we had.

We love this corner unit at The Whaler because it has 2 bathrooms and an awesome view of the mountains, beach & ocean! The unit is spacious for the 4 of us. It is equipped like a regular condo. There were beach chairs/umbrellas and blow up mattresses in the closet. It’s nice that each floor has a complimentary laundry room and trash chute.
The complex is nicely landscaped and conveniently located next to Whaler’s Village with nice shops & restaurants and 2 resorts over to Black Rock beach. Water excursions are offered right on the beach front.
The management company was professional, accommodating, and quick in response.
One thing to note, the water in the bathrooms take a few minutes to heat up.
We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this unit again.

Loved this place and location. Had everything we needed and great views. Would stay again. Recommend that a new mattress be but based for the king as it is sagging and the ac unit from next door is notable but everything else is just amazing!

Aloha! We had a fantastic time staying at 1124 West orchid. We had stayed at the whaler before, but the views from this room were outstanding. We really loved staying here. We have a teenage daughter and sleeping on the pull out couch was no problem, she said that it was very comfortable! Probably one of the best vacations we’ve ever been on in Maui!! We have been to Maui quite a few times, and we didn’t rent a car on this visit or our last visit. The bus system on the island is fantastic :-) So, we just hung out around Lahaina and Ka’annapali beach area and it was very relaxing. Although, the bus system goes over most of the island and that’s how we got around most of the time. This unit was perfect for us, nicely decorated, and very pragmatic. It’s a very nice rental unit. Anyway, being directly on Ka’annapali and being able to grill your own food or cook in the kitchen is a great way to go if you are wanting to be frugal. Of course, we did go out for dinners and some happy hours, but it was nice to be able to grill on the ocean front in the evenings with a good group of people down there it became fun like a little party :-) All being said, we hope to possibly be fortunate enough to rent this unit again. We had a blast!! I want to add that all of the staff, and the groundskeeper’s keep the place looking outstanding!! Everyone at the whaler goes above and beyond and they worked very hard!
We would definitely stay here again. We loved the unit and the views with the huge corner balcony.

No Matter where we looked, it was sheer beauty!! The Ocean, the Mountain, the beautiful Condo interior. The staff was helpful and excellent. Our stay was delightful. I would be back in a moment.
