Honu'ea (Hawksbill Turtle) is named after the endangered turtles that come and nest on the sandy shores in front of the property. Honu’ea is perfect for honeymooners or couples just wanting a unique tranquil getaway. The cottage is located on an acre of landscaped grounds with an unobstructed beachfront view of the Pacific Ocean. Just steps from the front door you can take long walks on miles of uncrowded sandy beach.
Honu’ea is a one bedroom, one bath Hawaiian style cottage. The cottage is located on the second story with its own private entrance. This cottage has a great open floor plan that allows for ocean views from almost every room. The master bedroom includes a king size bed, ample walk in closet for clothes and luggage, and a great view of the landscaped yard and ocean. The living space has an inviting sitting area with a relaxing sofa and chair and flat screen tv/dvd. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for all your cooking needs. The cottage also has an amazing beachfront lanai with outdoor seating and BBQ. For the really hot Maui summer days the cottage has a central air conditioning unit.
The cottage is centrally located so you’re only a short walk away from great local restaurants, grocery stores, and shops. The neighborhood is walkable and local bus service is available.

We had a wonderful stay with a very nice unit and great views, close to the beach, turtles on the beach, great little neighborhood close to stores and restaurants.

This was our first visit to Maui and this cottage was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Quiet, comfortable and tucked away. Bed was comfortable (for reference we sleep on a tempurpedic). I felt the cottage to be very neat and clean. Amber left a sweet little gift for us upon arrival. Also, had some cold waters in the fridge which we really appreciated because we arrived so late and didn’t have time to stop at the market. Views from the cottage were lovely. We walked the beach daily and took a dip a few of the days. Water is shallow but if you walk a little further down the beach you can find more swim-able depths. We saw turtles multiple days and even saw whales (ps we brought binoculars). Not sure why the other reviewer complained of the washer/ dryer. They worked well and weren’t especially noisy in my opinion. Plenty of glassware . We felt the couch to be comfortable for 2 people and enjoyed winding down with tv at night. This cottage created beautiful memories for us and we look forward to visiting again in the summer!

This was the perfect place to stay, private and quiet to spend a 25th anniversary. We absolutely loved it. We will highly recommend this place to anyone that goes to Maui.

This cottage is an absolute dream. The location, amenities and view all exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable and in close walking distance to many great restaurants and conveniences. Everything was just perfect!

Beautiful views of the Maui sunset in a perfect location! Just a few steps to the beach where we watched the sea turtles make their way in and out of the sea every night. The cottage had everything we needed and was in walking distance of local stores and restaurants.
If you’re a craft brew fan, Maui brewing and their beer garden is a must. Aloha!

The cottage was a perfect place to celebrate our 18th Anniversary. It came with everything we needed and more. Great experience, and the location in a quiet neighborhood was ideal. Even the turtles arrived each night!

We had the best time. Amber is a great host and everything was perfect. Beautifully decorated, comfy bed, amazing view, and close to the beach. We saw over a dozen turtles on the beach the night before we left! The location is excellent for walks to dinner and easy access to everything there is to do in Maui. We loved our little piece of heaven!

The view is 5 stars. Enjoyed the beach, seeing the turtles at night. Easy access to the beach from the yard. The studio was a 3.75. It was clean, no frills. The chair and sofa is not designed for relaxing and watching TV in the evening. Had leftover open condiments in the refrigerator, opened and unopened alcoholic beverages, and spices left by previous guests in the unit. Bathroom had no facial tissue, shampoo, grab bars. The bath rugs had no slip resistant backing. If you don’t rent a car you will miss a lot of the island to explore.
