Location is so convenient to the beach! BUT like the other reviews it is on the same side as the bar, two floors up. If the windows are open you can hear the conversations of the patrons on the bar patio. Also, pictures are quite misleading. The place is tiny and the furnishings are super dated. It was a blast to the 80s! There is zero counter space in the bathroom. One of the main window panels is broken and there is hardly any air flow in the unit, even with the patio door open (if you want to fall asleep to loud music until 2 am). The unit comes with several fans and an air conditioning unit that blows directly into the bedside table. The pool at the place is right next to a construction zone, has about 4 lounge chairs, is dirty, and doesn’t get much afternoon sun. All in all, we had a great trip visiting our college daughter and loved the proximity to the end of the strip. It was convenient to walk around Diamond Head every morning. However, for the price, we will not be booking again. So many cute studios and places that rent for the same price that have way more amenities and comfort.
This place is above”Hula’s” a gay bar. It was very clean.
You can't beat this location with such easy access to the beach, restaurants, shops, and good coffee! However, this room is just above a bar restaurant that cranks music late into the night and just off of a very busy street where buses stop and release their airbrakes. There was also a parking lot just across from the room that motorcycles used to hangout and see how loud the could get their exhausts to sound. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you.
Lovely, clean room so close to the beach! It was excellent
Great location to lots of fun things to do! Beach is just across the block! Very limited bathroom space was the only issue. No place to put bathroom items that are needed for self care.
This property was so awsome. Everything that you could imagine. Shops, restaurants, and beach only a few steps away. It was so relaxing to sit outside on the balcony to drink my ice coffee and listen to the zoo animals. We will definitely be staying here again!!
Sorry but I had broken one of the wine glasses
Enjoyed my stay very much. It was close to the venue where my conference was, and had everything I needed. I could hear the music from the night club 2 floors down, but not enough to cause loss of sleep, etc. I had a very minor issue with the TV, but the owner was on it immediately, and it was resolved. I would definitely return.
This room has a beautiful view of the zoo and ocean from the balcony. It is a small room but very clean and has a small kitchen and fridge. The location is perfect. Shopping and restaurants are all in walking distance. You can hear the sound of the bar in the building at night but I was so tired that I fell asleep in no time. The sound of the cars and trucks woke me up in the morning just when I wanted to get moving for the day. Overall my friend and I loved the place and would definitely comeback next visit.
We have stayed at the Grand Waikīkī 2 years ago and love the cleanliness of the building and the great location. The only problem for us was the street noise and the loud music from the bar on the 2nd floor.
Overall, it was nice to have beach chairs, a cooler, the kitchenette ready to go as needed. Saved us money to have coffee in the room and be able to have breakfast and light snacks. Everything was very nice and clean. Our only complaint was how loud it was at night. The windows are not sealed. They are slats like plantation shutters and all the loud cars, trucks, sirens can be heard. I had to wear ear plugs. Other than that the location was great for the price.
Great location with the exception of bus traffic early in the mornings and fumes. Loud music played from the bar 2 levels below us until 1am every morning. Could not close the vintage crank windows. But otherwise it was quite charming with all the amenities you would need for a few days in town.
This place is an excellent stay for the money. Yes, the night club plays music until late and one night it was extremely loud until after 1 am. Just run the AC to drown it out and the location can be loud with street noise but you are so close to beach and great eats. Super clean, so for the cost, it’s well worth it!
The property itself was great and we were well taken care of. Perfect location to get in and out of. Kitchenette made it easy to have meals in the room. The Bar on the 2nd floor went until 2 am every night and the walls vibrated until then....
This was advertised correctly. The reviews are also in line with our stay. The property is located at the end of Waikiki and by the zoo. Long walks to our favorite places but so enjoyable to people watch.
The one complaint is the noise from the restaurant located on the second floor. If we didn’t have air conditioning to help drown out the noise it would have been hard to sleep.
Perfect condo for two!!! View of Waikiki from the lanai 🏖️ Half a block from everything to do!!! Loved my stay and hopefully will return soon 🌺🌺🌺
We had a wonderful 30th wedding trip to this stress free spot. A great room/studio so well appointed, just bring your bathing attires, casual wear and open the door. Toiletries were there, view and location was super. Great ,friendly staff always there & greeting one. Julia was so easy to reach, we only had one little glitch & it was no problem. Our only minus was the very outdated air conditioning unit that was very noisy & unable to manage position of vents. Highly recommend the beautiful unit & view!
This property was exactly as listed and all we needed! It was the perfect location and close to everything. We were able to walk to everything in Waikiki. We did rent bikes, took a trolley, and used Uber for the locations further out. The check in process was easy, the host was available to chat even though it really wasn’t needed, check out was easy, and most of all we felt secure at this location. Would highly recommend this place!
The unit is nicely maintained and beautifully updated. The location is fantastic with great
Unit was just as described and the overall building and lobby were well taken care of, clean and safe. Front desk staff were friendly. The best hamburger stand of your life is literally downstairs and the beach a short walk. The unit is at the end of Waikiki Beach but super walkable to everything. We did not rent a car and our tours picked us up at the hotel. Because there were just 2 of us, we used an Uber to and from the airport and for further away spots as it was a better choice. The unit came with beach chairs and umbrella and boogie boards which was super helpful. Only 2 thingsI’d suggest is to stock the unit with beach towels, the ones provided were too thin. Lastly, there is a nightclub on the 2nd floor which runs into the wee morning hours. It is loud, but so is the traffic outside. Double pane windows would be amazing, lol, but until then remember you ARE in a city and there is noise. The AC drowns out nearly all of it. The unit is all around fantastic! Communication was smooth and prompt. I’m so grateful to have found it and will definitely recommend it.
Visiting Hawaii was a glorious experience for my wife and myself. So much to do and the weather was perfect every day. If I were to visit again, however,I would stay in a location that is less noisy and congested. There is a younger element that seems to pride itself on NOISE regardless of the time of day...booming sound systems, motorbikes, vehicle, etc. Aside from that the experience was very enjoyable!
We really enjoyed staying here during our time in Waikiki. The location is great and close to the beach. We utilized some of the free overnight parking at the park across the street. We would definitely stay here again if we come back!
I enjoyed our stay very much! The view was amazing and loved being so close to everything we needed, especially the beach. Can’t wait to come back.
Property was as described. Good location, fair price, clean, close to the beach. We would stay here again. Just a note, it does face a fairly busy street and their is a bar on the second floor (VRBO is 4th floor). You do experience road noise and noise from the bar. Not unreasonable, but it is present, so be aware. Thanks for a nice stay.
We stayed for 10 nights. The location was perfect...very close to the beach. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable, with nice linens. The kitchen was tiny but had everything we needed. We were happy to use the beach towels, boogie boards and beach chairs...a nice touch! We were disappointed with the hot water situation. It seemed you could have a warm shower in the morning or late evening. But when you got back from the beach mid-day, and wanted to take a shower, there was never any hot water. Our biggest complaint was the noise though. At about 10pm each night the electronic party music would start blasting from Hula's Bar 2 floors below. That would go on until 2am. Starting around 4am, loud refrigeration food delivery trucks would start pulling up on the street below, with loud engines rumbling for up to 45 minutes at a time. That would continue throughout the day at random times. There was also a crazy person living in a 5th floor suite just above and over from us. He would do loud random banging on the floor & walls, usually starting at around 4am every few days, followed by yelling out the window. I went down to the front desk one night at 4am, and Chuck (at the front desk) said the Catholic Charities houses him there, and they can't get him out. Apparently it's been going on for about 6 months! So, in conclusion, it's a great place to stay, but you probably won't get a good sleep. Bring earplugs, as you're going to need them!
