The view is unbeatable - you are literally feet from the ocean with an entertaining view of the crabs below, crashing waves in the evening and a sunrise view. We liked being away from the hustle of Honolulu and instead having a quiet neighborhood. Beach access is just one house down to get to the rocky area below. The cottage is showing wear from the climate, such as cracked/bubbled/peeling walls, rust, etc. but those are cosmetic. Everything is functional and as described. The A/C unit dehumidifier cannot keep up with the heat and humidity, so don’t expect it to function like central air. We appreciated having laundry on site and Duane was helpful and responsive to any questions/concerns. North Shore Taco across the street is great as well as Seven Brothers burgers further up North Shore. Thank you for giving us a great getaway!
Perfect little get away for our Hawaii trip. Great location, quiet neighborhood, and wonderful views. Perfect side of the island for local goods and snorkeling.
We enjoyed our stay in Hauula. This little rental was clean and cute. The bed was comfortable and the hosts were very responsive. A few things you’ll want to know: this little beach cottage is right on the ocean and waves splash the two main windows looking out over the ocean. Luckily there is air-conditioning so you don’t have to have those windows open to cool the place down (or everything would be wet). The location was great for us. It’s in a nice little neighborhood and the neighbors are friendly. It was so convenient to have a washer and dryer to use. They also provided folding chairs we could take to the beach! We were happy at this rental.
Beautiful location! Very peaceful! The studio was very humid and the AC wasn’t enough.

We loved our time at Mai Tide - it's a perfect waterfront 'home base' from which to explore Oahu. The unit has everything you need and is bright, clean and tidy. The kitchen is perfect for cooking meals and we loved enjoying morning coffee and evening drinks out on the waterfront deck (spotted a turtle one evening!). It is in a nice, quiet neighbourhood filled with friendly neighbours.
The unit matched the listing pictures perfectly, and was actually better than we expected. The off-site property manager Duane was exceedingly prompt and helpful, as was owner Tracey.
By way of warning: this property is on the windward side of the island, so we had fairly strong 'on-shore' winds pretty much constantly - however it wasn't really an issue (the 'leeward' side is also only a 20min drive away) and I'm guessing the winds are calmer at other times of year.
All in all a place I would recommend to couples looking to visit the north shore without paying exorbitant prices for a waterfront place to stay.
We absolutely loved our stay at this comfy cottage!! The location was perfect and so convenient to everything. Very comfortable bed and pillows! We had everything we needed to have a perfect vacation! The property manager was very prompt with responding to my questions and very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend this rental and already have to several of my friends looking to stay on the island.
