The location in Kona and on the property was exceptional.
As soon as you walk in the door the smell of mildew was overwhelming. The property manager, who said “all the places at Kona Reef smell old”, delivered odor absorbers but it did nothing to to help. The condo was otherwise fine and the bed comfortable. The elevator was down our entire stay and the outside areas tiles had multiple holes with wires showing underneath. The pool area and BBQ was nice but we were locked out for a day when the pool locks were changed. Location of property was good being close to town. Condo overlooks park next door, a combination of morning yoga and homeless encampments.
Great location to walk to shops, restaurants, etc. Loved being able to step out and enjoy the water. There’s even a little beach area a few steps away. The place was clean and just as pictured.

We enjoyed our stay here. The place was well set up. My only complaint is the set up of the beedrooms. They are adjacent to walkways so anyone walking by and talking can wake you. But overall we found this a nice place to stay while in Kona.
We had an incredible stay at this Vrbo in Kona! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness, comfort, and stunning ocean views. The home was well-stocked with everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, beach gear, and comfortable furnishings.The location was perfect—just a short drive to beautiful beaches, restaurants, and local attractions. We especially loved relaxing on the lanai, enjoying the breathtaking sunsets and ocean breeze. The neighborhood was peaceful, making it a great spot to unwind after a day of exploring.Our host was fantastic—responsive, friendly, and provided great recommendations for things to do in the area. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Kona and would absolutely book again on our next visit. Highly recommend!
Unit was clean and organized. Location was convenient for walking to restaurants. Wonderful to have on sight parking. The park is well-used during the day with yoga and families playing in the sand. It was a bit disconcerting to have people sleeping in the park overnight but patio door was well secured.
The kitchen small appliances work but are old. The kettle on/off button needed to be taped down to stay on, not safe.The bathroom fan was very loud . The sofa was very uncomfortable .

We had a great stay...but it was too short! The unit was clean, nicely decorated but a little small. The beach is right out the sliding back door with great views. The place is Fine for two people but would have been cozy for four. We loved how well stocked the kitchen was...and there were even folding beach chairs and snorkeling gear. The only disappointment was the couch: uncomfortable to sit on...can’t imagine sleeping on it as a foldout bed.
Property was clean and set up well for us. We used it as a staging center for our day adventures. It had towels and plenty of beach gear, and the patio was perfect for gazing at the ocean and reading. I appreciated having air conditioning to take the edge off the afternoon sun. The bathroom fan is pretty noisy but that’s a minor inconvenience.
Overall excellent! Not too impressed with the homeless living in the beach next to the condos. Location is close to everything!
Excellent location. Condo needs a furniture upgrade and Lanai resurfaced. Better kitchen items would be appreciated.

A fantastic week at Kona Reef B7! This condo faces beautiful Honl’s Beach. The water is too rough and rocky for leisurely swimming but watching the locals boogie board and surf kept me entertained. Downtown is a short walk. The central location does come with some noise but the sound of the waves crashing is mostly what you hear. This condo is older but well maintained and the host is communicative. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful location and well stocked rental at Kona Reef. We spent a week at B7 and everything was clean and the unit had everything from boardgames, coolers, beach chairs and children's toys. Pool was wonderful and the view of the beach and sunset were amazing.

The location of the rental was nice and close to downtown coastal Kona. Great restaurants nearby as well. The rental is a bit older but had what we needed. The sofa bed was not too comfy but was fine for a week. Some of the doors and handles inside needed cleaning as there were dirty areas around and near the handles. Directions to locate the condo on property were a bit confusing. Driving directions were fine but trying tonfind building B needs more detail.
This is a great location that is also next to Honl's Beach. I love how the unit is on the ground floor, making it very convenient to walk out the patio and onto the beach. Highly recommended property
Great little place! It’s right next to a fun beach, and tide pools where we saw lots of turtles! It’s also a 5 minute walk to town where there is lots of food and shopping. I was a little worried about the kids sleeping on the hide-a-bed, but it worked out great! Overall it was a perfect hub for all of our adventures around the island, and perfect for stay at home days with meals on the patio overlooking the sea!

We had a great experience and felt the pictures and description on VRBO were accurate. The building was easy to find and the communication we received prior, during and after our stay was received and appreciated.The property was clean and maintained, we would recommend this condo to others and or rent again. We felt these items could be updated and that would be the utensils and silverware, as well as more plastic drinkware. Again, this would not deter me from recommending this unit.One other item we would comment on is there are signs everywhere saying no smoking in or around the building, (which we support), but many times throughout the day people were smoking marijuana on the property grounds. I feel that if you disallow smoking that should include marijuana as well. The proximity of the property is stellar, so easy to walk downtown and to many food/drink establishments, as well as activities. We did 2 activities while there and that was the Parasailing and Submarine. Would recommend.
Great place beauty of access to pool and beach . Reminder do not leave clothes over night on drying rack had two bathing suits and tshirt taken! Road is nice for walks and the trolley bus is close. Lots of restaurants and ABC stores. Farmers markets for all your souvenirs and fruit and veggies.

This was our fourth visit to Kona Reef, but our first visit to this unit. We were a bit apprehensive at first with it being a ground floor unit, but beyond pleased with the location and condition. We would definitely stay here again - the price point was very good.
