A great lanai less than 50 feet from the ocean.The only real issue we would raise is the inside (not the outside) furniture. The couch and the recliner were both very uncomfortable Other furniture was good and beds were very comfortable.
Pros - great location, solid place and super helpful host. Cons - had to deal with some gnats/drain flies. Air conditioner didn’t cool the second bedroom so it was very warm.
Gorgeous condo very close to downtown Kona. Unbelievable sunsets from the lanai. Very clean and well appointed. Everything you need to cook if you want to make meals. Mike sent the most informative informational packet I have ever seen and was great about responding to the couple of questions I had. We loved the pool and being so central to everything. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. All of cabinets were well stocked with everything you would need, including beach supplies. Theres nothing better than waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the ocean and watching surfers. Bonus: the poke place that is basically on property is very tasty!
I can't say enough wonderful things about this property as a place to stay. All instructions were clearly emailed out so we had no reason to contact the owner. The place was clean and comfortable. It had all sorts of extras like snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach chairs that made it so easy to pack up for a beach day. The kitchen was well equipped. The lanai view and sound of the ocean waves was one of my favorite places and i will remember it fondly.Thank you for such a wonderful home, I really hope to be back!
this was truly the perfect place for my son and i during his spring break. right over the ocean, hearing the waves (if you want to -- you can close the very effective sliding glass doors), amazing sunsets, super well located (right next to poke shack!!!), and a good value. mike, the property manager, was super helpful and kind throughout. really loved it and can't wait to stay here again!
This condo was perfect for our family of 4 to explore and enjoy Kona. It is incredibly well-stocked, with everything you could need to enjoy a beach day (snorkel gear, chairs, boogie boards, umbrella) as well as ample kitchen items. We view from the balcony is just amazing--we loved sitting out there watching surfers, parasailers, and boats go by. The beach just outside the property has amazing tidepools--the kids loved exploring and seeing fish and even a turtle every day. We appreciated the air conditioning and the fans throughout the condo as well. The property is in a great location--minutes away from an awesome snorkel beach (Kahalu'u) and a short drive to many other beaches, restaurants, and sights. Highly recommend as a place to stay in Kona!
The location of this unit is perfect for enjoying the ocean and the sunset. We left our slider open throughout our stay. I'm watching the surfers as I write this. I highly recommend!

We stayed in the same condo in 2017, and when we came back in 2025, we went there again.Originally, we had planned for the trip in 2024, but we had to cancel that trip due to health concerns. We had a great time in 2025.From the balcony, you can see surfers at the nearby beach. However, if you want to photograph the surfers from the condo, you will need a longer lens. I captured a lot of surfer pictures that I need to reduce to a more manageable lot.Evidently the condo had A/C installed since we were there in 2017, but we didn't need it.The main bedroom opens up to the ocean, and you can use the screen door and hear the ocean lapping at night.The wifi in the unit was great. We did not watch TV, so I can't say what the channel selection the condo had.There were plenty of plugs, and at the desk and in the bedrooms there were power strips with extra plugs and USB chargers. I didn't use the USB chargers at the condo since I always carry my own, but they were available.When you check-in, it helps if is daylight, since the second entrance which goes to parking under the building is sort of hidden by bushes. The first entrance is easier to spot, but IMHO, you want to park under the building and not come to a hot car if you park outside in the sun.There were 3 luggage carts in the lobby to allow you to move suitcases in fewer trips. There is an elevator located in the middle of the complex so you can avoid the stairs. There are stairs near the unit.
Two weeks went by too fast! Everything was clean, in great order, and comfortable. Everything you might need had been thought of. Plenty of parking, elevator, fully equipped unit, large lanai , TV, comfortable beds. Beautiful sunsets every day! Called Mike about something and he was great and accommodating. Don't hesitate to stay and enjoy this condo. BTW. Found another great restaurant called Sunset Kai Launai. South of the condo at the shopping center. Incredible view, fantastic Mai Tai's and the best ribs ever.
We loved being on the 4th floor (top) of Kona Bali Kai. Unit is perfectly situated so that there’s a clear view of the sunsets, surfers, and tropical fish and turtles in the ocean with no palm trees blocking the view. Fridge and cupboards stocked with extras including coffee, coffee filters, condiments, paper towels, garbage bags, etc. Both bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner, clean towels and extra toilet paper. We appreciated the extra supplies in the closet including bug spray, lotion, sunscreen, etc. Washer and dryer are extra capacity and are extremely efficient. We LOVED the quietness of the air conditioning unit. Living room couch is different from what was pictured. It is a wicker sofa bed rather than a sectional couch and wasn’t the most comfortable to lounge on. However, the reclining chair was great. We had to read the instructions on how to work the TVs, a few remotes were missing batteries and would prefer if the TVs were SMART TVs. King bed in the primary bedroom was comfortable. We loved having dual sinks and quality towels in the primary bathroom. It would be nice not to have to deal with physical keys to enter the unit and use a keyless entry lock. Communication with the owner was wonderful including pre-trip notifications, binder of information found in the living room, and text messages during our stay. Owner even let us stay a few extra hours after check-out for free because it worked with the next booking.
Kona Bali Kai is amazing, this unit is perfectly stocked and beautiful. Watching the surfers was beautiful. Mike is an amazing host, he answered calls immediately and solved problems immediately.
The condo is lovely and a great location. Next to the best poke on the island. Magic Sands Beach a mile away, shops and restaurants two miles the other direction. Well equipped kitchen, loved the oils and spices. Boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers available. Mike was great to deal with.
Condo was as shown in the listing. Beautiful view and great location. The full-size Washer and Dryer was very nice! The view is great, you really can't get much closer to the ocean than this! Condo was clean and had everything you could need during your stay. Communication from the host was superb and we received several documents that helped plan our stay. They have a guest book that has tons of information about where to eat or what to do. I would most definitely stay here again!
Loved the ocean view but the outside noise was awful. Also the living room furniture was different from the pictures we saw and even though there were three fans in the bedroom with the twin beds it was awfully hot. Other than that we enjoyed our stay but the building needs a lot of work
We loved having a Lanai right on the ocean with beautiful views. Condo spacious, clean and comfortable. Location of condo was convenient for our day trips around the island. No A/C but didn't miss it. Host left instructions for keeping condo cool. With all the windows open we were to enjoy the soundtrack of crashing waves on the rocks below. I would recommend this condo.
This was the perfect vacation condo. The ocean breezes were so nice that we didn't even have to turn on the air conditioner, although we were glad we had that option. The condo had everything we needed. We loved using it as a base for our adventures or just sitting on the lanai and watching surfers, turtles, and even some fish. We would 100% stay here again if we had the chance.

This condo was the best! It was well-equipped, spotless, spacious and had many charming touches. The location was perfect for our first visit to The Big Island. We were able to easily get to beaches, to town and grocery stores. The sunsets from thelanai were breathtaking and the sound of the waves were wonderful to fall asleep and wake up to. We all especially loved watching the surfers. Check-in was a breeze and the hosts left a very detailed guide to the condo and the island. We can't wait to come back!!
Location is amazing! Right on the water! Every morning we drank coffee and watched the surfers and yellow tang in the ocean. The little beach next door is convenient too! We used the propane grill at the complex and it was super clean. Parking and access to condo was easy. On the weekends there is a fruit market next door with amazing Hawaiian grown veggies/fruits/flowers. Host was very responsive and quick to resolve any issues!
If you enjoy listening to the ocean waves and watching sunsets from your balcony, this condo is for you. Great location and spectacular views. Condo has good amenities as well. Would definitely stay here again.
This was a nice place while visiting the Kona side of the Big Island. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook in. New grills were being installed on the property while we were there. The best part is the balcony, the waves are right there. We ate breakfast every morning watching the surfers and every evening watching the sunset. The pool area looked nice even though we didn't use it. There is AC which is a must. Communication was very good. This isn't a fancy resort type of place but if you want a nice quiet place to stay this is it.

Our family of 4 had a lovely stay! And Mike was so easy to communicate with. This condo has just about anything you could need, from beach chairs to laundry detergent, and it was so fun waking up and watching the surfers from the lanai. Hope to be back in the future.
