The view! The view! The view! This is not just an ocean view. You are on the ocean. You can throw a macadamia nut off the lanai and hit the ocean. The sunsets were spectacular. You can walk to all the major shops and restaurants from the condo.The condo was clean and very livable with all the appliances and well stocked with pots and pans, basic spices, oil/butter and condiments.The AC kept the living room/kitchen cool but it was tough to get the cool air around the corner into the bedroom. But we were fine by just sleeping with the sheet and the ceiling fan on high.The washer and dryer was very appreciated in that it let us wash our clothes in the middle of the week and therefore only bring carry on luggage. The condo is perfect size for a couple. Adding another couple or of a couple kids will require creativity such as an air mattress or sleeping bags on the floor in the living room. But it's doable.Alex the host, called several times and gave us tips on beaches, snorkeling locations and the best restaurants. We ran out of TP halfway through our stay but Alex got us restocked quickly. Great host. Best view we have ever had.
My husband and I stayed at this property from May 20th - June 5th, 2 weeks plus! We have been staying in Alex and Michele's Condo since 2012! The location is perfect, close to shops, restaurants and entertainment.We like the well appointed kitchen for all the cooking and barbecuing we do. The beach chairs and coolers are very convenient for day trips. So go enjoy we will be going back to take in the nightly sunsets and sounds of the waves crashing on the shores!

Meticulously clean and well appointed condo in a great location! Ocean, soothing waves, and beautiful sunsets are right there your 2nd story lanai. Walking distance to all the restaurants/bars you need! Alex was great to work with before, during, and after our stay… will definitely be back!
Awesome oceanfront condo. The view is amazing! We had to force ourselves to leave the condo. All we wanted to do is sit there on the lanai and watch the waves. It’s within walking distance of downtown and a 20min drive from the airport. Can’t speak highly enough about the location and the view. Alex the owner was extremely helpful too! Great experience all around.
Alex and Michelle are fantastic hosts. Their communication before our visit was so helpful! Their condo has been beautifully updated and everything we could have possibly needed was provided. We loved relaxing on their lanai and watching the surfers and boogie boarders. The views and sunsets were stunning. The location is perfect. We walked to dinner every evening. We also enjoyed the pool and bbq area. We loved their condo so much that we have booked another stay in their gorgeous home!
This is an ideal place to stay. The property, Kona Reef Resort condominium, is perfectly located as it is close to many shopping centers on one side but also evenly positioned to visit beaches to the north or to the south from it. The view from the room is gorgeous as you are looking at waves right in front of your eyes. Condo is very clean and convenient. Alex, the property owner, is very thorough in explaining everything that is very helpful especially for people who come there for the first time. The entire process of renting was very smooth and easy. Special thanks to Alex for directly communicating with us and setting up everything needed for arrival way in advance and not within 3 days before the rental period. We will return to the same place next year - this is our decision that says all one need to know.
The condo we rented in Kona was absolutely beautiful. The location was stunning! Communication with Alex went above and beyond. His hospitality was phenomenal. He recommended many things to do in the local area, which was very helpful. His condo is stocked with everything you would need for a nice day. The resort itself is in a nice location with easy walking to shops, restaurants, and everything you would need. I highly recommend this kind of accommodation in Hawaii! It was fantastic.
We had an amazing time staying at this VRBO on the Big Island. The location couldn’t have been better—literally steps from the ocean, with stunning views and the sound of the waves creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing vacation.The home was exactly as described, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great stay. What really stood out, though, was the host. They were incredibly helpful and responsive, checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly and offering local tips throughout our trip.Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a peaceful, oceanfront getaway with a great host. We would absolutely stay here again!
This condo was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our week long stay. Alex is a very attentive owner who goes beyond the usual to make sure his guests feel welcome and appreciated. We had one small problem when we arrived but Alex made sure it was quickly remedied. The comfortable and immaculate waterfront unit is recently and beautifully updated. Proprietor Alex --- eho is always available by phone or text -- has made certain it contains just about anything you might need for your stay, the beach, and snorkeling. The Kona Reef complex is meat, clean and has a wonderful oceanfront swimming pool and grassy frontage. Ideal location, great kitchen, cozy king bed with plenty of closet space. You can't askbfor better. We'll be back.
We enjoyed everything about this condo. It is very comfortable, well equipped and nicely updated. We like the unit’s walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The owner is very responsive and makes check-in very easy. We highly recommend this condo.
We adored our stay at this beautiful Condo. The ocean view is perfection. Hosts were super communicative and gave excellent recommendations for dining and shopping on the island. We will absolutely book again and recommend this spot to our friends and family!

We love the Kona Reef and this is by far the best of the three condo's we've stayed in there. We have already booked our next reservation. Some of the little things we appreciated include the comfortable lounge chair on the lanai, the Brita filter in the fridg so we didn't have to buy bottled water, and the living room lighting being good enough for reading! Alex stayed in close touch with us to make sure that all our needs were met.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! The views and the sounds of the ocean were relaxing and the location was highly desirable. The sunsets every evening were beautiful.
Communication with the host was excellent! Alex was always willing to help and offer suggestions and advice.

"Wow" is all we could say when we walked in this condo. This condo has everything you can think of, a well stocked kitchen for cooking, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, a cooler, and snorkel gear. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, with high quality sheets and an extra blanket if needed. The view is just amazing, the lanai has high quality, very comfortable patio furniture with views of the beautiful sunsets as well as great entertainment watching the surfers and boogie boarders ride the waves. The owner was very good at communicating, providing great restaurant recommendations, answering questions about the condo, and the island itself. The owners have an exceptional place here, it is very clean, had everything we needed and more. They take pride in this home and it shows, we could not have picked a better place!! A huge Mahalo for your hospitality!
My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this well appointed condo for two weeks. You will never find a cleaner, more comfortable, convenient to everything rental on the Big Island. Alex and Michele, the hosts, have thought of everything to make your stay memorable. They provide valuable information about dining, tours, driving directions, food trucks, etc. I could go on and on. And, they are always available if you have questions. The views from the lanai are incredible! We woke up to cruise ships right in front of us a few mornings and surfers riding huge waves other mornings. It was always a delight. Walking to town took five minutes if we wanted to shop or have lunch or dinner. I can's say enough about this condo. If I could, I would give it ten stars!!!!
We have rented vacation rentals at the Kona Reef many times before, but this was the best experience we have encountered. The owner of the condo. Alex Douglas was very helpful in making our stay a pleasurable experience. Whenever we had a question we were able to contact him imediately for an answer. First of all words cannot describe the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea and the beauty of Kona. This condo is a haven with all of that and more including whale watching from the Lanai ( balcony) and glorious sunsets. Wait before you get outdoor supplies as there are matts, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and scuba gear. Everything in the condo was clean and in working order. The communication with Alex was as easy as communication with a good friend, always available with caring and excellent suggestions. Best vacation ever. Thank you Alex & Michele! Maxine & Bruce

We loved our stay here at Alex and Michele’s condo. It’s located overlooking the shore and provides perfect views of sunsets. It’s quiet, yet conveniently located near all the action in downtown Kona. The kitchen is well equipped, especially for BarBQing on the grills near the pool. We like to eat in most of the time, so we appreciated having all the tools to cook in the condo kitchen.
We also appreciated having more than one luggage rack to unpack our suitcases. Their condo has three! Anything that you need for a trip to the beach is also provided.
Most of all, we appreciated having Alex check in with us to make sure everything was ok and to give helpful suggestions about things to do. Can’t wait to get back to this great place again in the future!
Awesome Condo! Alex makes sure you have everything you need. The ocean is about 10 feet away and you have a perfect view of the sunset every night. Restaurants and shops are just a couple of minute walk away. It is the perfect home base for your Big Island Adventures! We have stayed here multiple times. It’s my wife and I’s favorite!
The condo was perfect. Alex’s communication was great from the very start. He made sure everything was ready and easy to access. Parking our rental was easy and when we didn’t want to drive the local restaurants and shopping was about a 10 minute walk away. We loved listening to the ocean because it was literally about 15 feet away. Our first morning dolphins swam by. Great view of sunsets too! Neighbors were quiet. I can’t say enough good things about the condo. If fact the next time we visit the Big Island we are going to make sure it’s available again!
