Property was great! My only complaint is that there was not an elevator. So, I had 4 flights of stairs up and down anytime I went anywhere. This was difficult.
This little condo was great !! My wife and i loved it simple yet had everything we needed for our stay. The bed being in the living room was awesome!
This is an old resort. The place has been updated the best it could be. There are no elevators so we had to haul everything up 3 flights of stairs. We’re 70 so that wasn’t great. The place was clean and charming but very small. There is no stove or dishwasher and the unit had 2 towels, 2 washcloths and one hand towel. Had to wait in line for the washing machine. This is probably ok for someone younger.
Unit satisfied all of our needs. Was clean and well supplied. Was well located in town, close to all the shops and restaurants so that we could walk to a lot which was good since parking was limited.
Very nice remodel, but 3 flights of stairs made it very hard on me who has had 4 knee surgeries. Carrying groceries was a chore for a 64 year old man that I am.
There isn’t a stove/burner here, but we only use the microwave for heating and eat fresh. This charming unit has what we needed. Coldwell Vacations advertised one night free. We were here 10 nights and they did not honor it. They only offered a refund for 101 for this. Check in is 4pm. This is when they clse! I had a problem with the television. I emailed and called. No one called or emailed back. We have owned vacation rentals 20 years. This is the worst service I have experienced.
We loved our stay! The location is amazing! Close to everything! A few steps to the ocean. The pool was great to have when you wanted some downtime. We loved staying at this property!
Perfect location to catch Ironman inspired swims, view the sunset, wine and dine and go to the market. Responsive management to questions and when A/C was leaking. Nice starter packs on all amenities, water filter and ice maker, fun bicycle to go down Ali'i Drive (though I think I'd been the only one who used it due to rust, tires needing air). Respectful neighbors. Would rent again.
Very good for the position (few steps from the center of Kailua), very quite, all you need in the kitchenette, new furniture, wifi top.
This condo unit (341 in Kona Islander Inn) was super cute, with a decent kitchenette (no stove), plenty of dishes and kitchen supplies, clean sheets and towels. It's right in the heart of Kona. It's an absolutely great location!! There's about 50 restaurants within willing distance and lots of little shops.
Condo conveniently located near shops, restaurants.
It was centrally located which was good. Close to the beach. Room 341 needs some comfortable dining chairs. Although there was no
Stove,we managed to cook with the appliances we had. Broken skille, was replaced with another one the next day. Thank you all in all it was ok.
I have stayed at the Kona Islander 2 other times, and liked the layout of this studio the best. It had nice large living area and separate kitchenette. Enjoyed my morning coffee on the balcony.
The place was exactly as we expected, and was a perfect place to stay at while being busy on the island! Would definitely consider staying again if we come back!
Unit was very clean, well stocked with about everything one could need. Right in the heart of Kona, walking distance to restaurants, shopping, no need for a car.
There is a toaster oven, air fryer, coffee, pot, anything anyone would need if you wanted to make food. Personally, I don’t go on vacation and cook. Of course there’s no stove because they’re against it, but there’s plenty. There’s a large screen TV, with cable, and streaming.
I thought it was very sweet that there was a small bag of coffee for one serving in the morning left in the refrigerator, and one bottle of water. Really made my day, so that I didn’t have to go out and start shopping immediately. All in all, it’s a very nice unit in the heart of Kona, I highly recommend it. I come to Kona several times a year, my daughter is a WYAM student, and I always stay at the Islander, it’s the best.
We stayed for 4 weeks and would have liked to empty our suitcases so we could feel like we were at home. The closet space was full of misc. No dresser or place to hang clothing.
Lighting by the bed to read would have been a plus as we did not utilize the sofa sleeper where the lighting was. The TV was useless as were the directions. Would have appreciated a laundry exchange instead of laundering the sheets myself(and paying to do so). The bedding is worn and does not fit well. Not sure if the carpet was cleaned as it was so stained! Poor lighting and different types of bulbs in each light. Back screen door torn. Many tiny ants and occasional cockroach! Tiny kitchenette with little counter space.
The resort property is well cared for and the staff are very nice and helpful. The pool is not heated but clean and refreshing on a warm day. The complex is downtown and close to shops and many places to eat.
We loved the body boards and sand toys. The kids were happy with the pull out couch and bed was good. The kitchen area was well stocked with appliances. We did run out of garbage bags, but were stayed the in the room for 11 nights. With the Kona Islander all the rooms are the same size, so for two adults and two kids it was small with bags. So pack as light as possible. The kids loved the size of the TV. The lani was a little small with the owners storage box, but for two people it was perfect.
Great location, walk to dinner spots. Parking was a little crowded at times
This is the second time we have stayed at the Kona Islanded. Very convenient access to Ali’i where a lot of the restaurant and tourist shops are located. The suite was beautifully updated, clean and included a separate sink in the bathroom which was a huge benefit. This is great for two occupants but for the four of us it was rather “cozy”. The kitchen was well equipped to make simple meals but would be more challenging if you wanted to make something more substantival. Parking on site is very challenging and is first come first serve. Good luck trying to get a spot after 6pm! If we were to stay at the KI, I’d looked to see if this unit would be available first.
Con-Tiny kitchen, difficult to repair food.
Pros- it was pleasant to eat out on the porch
Great little place and close to down town we walked a Tina me the property staff is amazing and very friendly!would do again !!!
This property is located right in downtown Kona. Walk out the property gate and you are on Alii drive walking distance to so many great restaurants and shopping. It is a beautiful garden setting. We stayed on the third floor and there is no elevator but we were fine with that. Parking can be tough but we did find a spot each night.
