Awesome spot close to pretty much all you can ask for when you want to have an awesome vacation (restaurant, beaches, shops, etc.)
Moreover, the resort has two different pools and the unit is basically right beside both of them.

I really enjoyed this property and the location of the condo complex. It is about 10 minutes drive south of Kailua Village. Pros: comfortable, clean unit. Free parking, mostly available. Very nice pools — One saltwater on the ocean’s edge. Cons: self check-in with no staff on site (i was traveling alone, so I would have welcomed staff — available by phone only). Ocean view was peak-a-view at best, some of the photos are out of date: floors have been updated and the bathtub removed (but shower is nice), no dining on site (but a convenient store for essentials fronts the property). Biggest annoyance was weekly water shut offs with only short notice (it fell on my check out day so I had to vacate the condo very early in the morning). Also, I had asked if there were beach chairs, umbrellas etc. I was told no because the management company is concerned about liability. So before I checked in I had purchased some items to use while I was there, only to find that there were indeed beach chairs and an umbrella. I would rather sign a hold-harmless agreement than be told that there is nothing available for me to use and have a needless expense. Bottom line, I would stay at this property again if not traveling alone, but I would choose a unit with a better view.

From the time we booked through to checkout, communication with the booking management team was excellent. The address is Ali’i Drive, but the complex is set well back and you would never know you were close to a busy road. Check-in was a breeze, the condo is really well-stocked and has ample cooking utensils, cutlery & dishes etc. even for people who don’t want to dine out. The covered patio has a view of the ocean and grounds, the communal barbecue area is well-lit, two pools and the sandy “beach” area immaculately maintained, there are ample outdoor shaded areas to socialize, and there is a very calm/quiet atmosphere about the entire complex. A perfect spot for people seeking a calm oasis, and for families with young children; perhaps not so much for people who vacation in ‘party hardy’ mode! Outstanding property management and communication, as well. The condo is 1.3 miles from the ‘downtown’ area with shops, restaurants, etc.; a trolley service runs along the length of Ali’i would make it quite do-able to stay without a vehicle. and easily get to restaurants and shops. The ONLY drawback for us was that we like to walk everywhere, but the only way to walk to the ‘downtown’ area is on a narrow walking lane marked on the busy road, and that didn’t feel safe to us.

Loved staying at Casa De Emdeko, convenient to downtown Kona and short drive to our favorite beaches and snorkeling spots. The condo was clean and had everything we needed.
