There were no instructions for the TV, which was tiny and hard to work. AC in the bedroom wasn't working when we got there. Made a call and someone came to fix it. Condo was very close to a main street so heard traffic noise when on the balcony. Generally the place was a little shabby, worn- looking and not that clean. Corkscrew didn't work. Tub in bathroom needs refinishing. Best part was the pool, which was very nice.
We had several concerns after staying for 30 days. We advised Wendi of our concerns, with pictures, and hopefully they will be addressed. Looking forward to going back to this amazing complex in the future.
This place served as a good centrally located home base for us as we explored Maui. The unit itself was well furnished and had a pleasant interior look and feel. The beds were comfortable, and the fans and AC kept the temperature cool.
There were a few things that were less ideal too:
Check in was kind of tough for us, as you have to go to an office between 9-5 to get your parking pass. This led to some stress and many phone calls and emails as our schedule didn't allow for this the first several days we were there. Thankfully it turned out that the parking pass is actually optional, and the worst you can expect is a warning sticker on your window. It took me a while to figure that out, and I had to hear it from someone who didn't manage my unit.
Some of the dishes in the cabinet were not washed, and had been put away with food on them.
The neighborhood is extremely un-walkable, so expect to drive everywhere even if it's like 0.25mi away. Also tons of roosters, so expect to hear them every morning starting around 5am.
The AC unit takes a lot of getting used to because it's constantly revving up and turning off every 5ish minutes trying to maintain the temperature. And its just about five feet from your head as you sleep.
Finally, none of us could figure out how to turn off the ceiling fan in the main bedroom, so hopefully you like sleeping with a breeze. Thankfully we were ok with this, but it may bother some people. The fan in the living area didn't have this problem.

Maui
5 stars across the board! The ad was exactly as promised and then it exceeded my expectations! The unit itself is a "standard Maui condo": clean, comfortable and limited but pretty decent view of the ocean. But the facility itself is where it really exceeded my expectations: AMAZING manicured landscape/lawn that is like walking on clouds. Decent pool and hot tub. While we didn't participate, I could see the condo had working tennis/pickleball/shuffleboard/putting green/bocce ball. Very hospitable/friendly "full time" residents that always had a smile and "locals" tips. The beach access is great for sunsets. While it was possible to swim in the ocean at the access, there is a LOT of loose coral (expected for that end of Kihei) aqua shoes totally solve that. Saw good size sea turtles in the water and on the beach out front too! Beds and furniture were comfortable.
Patrick K's review in Jan 2019 of the bedframe size was spot on: "The new King bed is comfortable but the bed frame is too large for the room. Kept stubbing our toes on the frame's legs....."
PRO TIP: after hitting our toes a few times... I finally realized to wrap a towel around the leg.... it stopped being a problem after that, lol. You are a short walk to decent restaurants, fast food and grocery stores. Side notes: We met up with friends who own a place a couple of complexes down the street, while accommodation was almost the exact same, the landscaping/look/set up/parking was far superior at ours. I don't remember if it was promised: but the unit was well stocked with umbrella/beach chairs/beach toys/snorkel gear/coolers/etc. if not plenty of places to buy or rent very close.

We loved staying at Maui Sunset with it's great location. The condo was ok, a bit dated and we needed to clean the main floor as it had heavy dirt in the laminate floor.

There was an issue with cleanliness/housekeeper upon arrival but the property made it right. For the price and for what you get, it's a great deal and the location was awesome. I would recommend that the amount of essential amenities be double checked (toilet paper rolls, laundry pods) before each new customer checks in.
