10/10 recommendation this place. The beach access right in front is unbeatable. Near the pool, clean, had the comfiest bed, very well stocked kitchen supplies. We stayed 7 nights and already booked another 9 next year. Joan is very responsive and really took care of us!
My husband and I stayed here for a week to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to the waves directly from the lanai. The unit had all the home necessities anyone would need for a week long stay as well as beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkels, umbrella and beach towels for beach time. There are multiple grills right next to the building that were cleaned daily. Several grocery store options close by. We cooked many meals and had no issues locating what we needed.We rented a jeep so that we had our own transportation. We did travel to Wailea and Kaanapali, but really spent most of our time in Kihei and relaxed. We packed way more clothing items than needed as we had never been to the island before. Fortunately the washer and dryer worked great so we could wash and re-wear many of our more casual clothes. The pool onsite is clean and requires a code so that not just anyone walking the beach can come and use it. It was clean and had lots of chairs. Too bad there wasn't an onsite bar/grill at the pool. Although, there is a sandwich shop within walking distance, across from the pool area in the courtyard. The grounds were very lush and groundskeepers were there daily to tend to the landscape. We felt safe and had no issues during our stay. We do plan to come back and would consider the same unit again as the proximity to everything was great! Also, the bed and linens were very comfortable.

The room was perfect, absolute gorgeous view right out the front slider, which opened wide. The condo had everything you could need. Bed was comfortable. Place was clean. I highly recommend it and I miss it already. Normally I don’t stay in ground level hotel rooms or condo condos but this one was different. It was just so private and it’s a corner so you can watch what’s going on at the pool which is right next-door. The beach right there is beautiful like I said I miss it already. Book it it’s well well well worth it.
Excellent rental. Location on the island and within the property was perfect. Has all the amenities you need. Great communication with property manager. Will definitely stay here again.
This corner unit condo was fabulous. It was very close to the pool and had the greatest view. I loved that the unit had AC as we are from the Midwest and get hot easily! My only suggestion would be to upgrade the hairdryer in the unit. There were 3 in the drawer. One didn’t turn on, the other smelled like it was going to catch on fire, and the third looked like it was from 1984. All other amenities were great. I appreciated the few k-cups of coffee and we made great use on the washer and dryer. I would stay there again

We stayed 2 nights. Great view, needs paint, shower doesn’t drain properly & the water backs up. Had all the amenities we needed. The bed was very comfortable & AC worked great. Mahalo

One of the best days we’ve had at Sugar Beach. Joan’s unit is perfectly set up! We appreciate the extra mattress in the cupboard for our little kid. And the nice beach chairs, and an umbrella and cooler! Location is perfect right next to the barbeques and we have the most wonderful weather. I love the layout of this unit. I have stayed in a few at Sugar Beach, but the island in the middle of the kitchen was very handy for preparing food/ kids eating “at the bar”. Kitchen was well stocked too! Beds very comfortable- pullout and main king bed. Will book again!
We enjoyed our stay and wished we had more time in Maui. It’s a well played out ground floor unit with the beach & pool right out the door. Communication was easy and staff was friendly. We would stay here again.
We had a great stay! It was so wonderful being on the 1st floor with everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable. I found this location to be very convenient to all areas of the island, as this was our first time we wanted to check everything out. highly recommend and would stay again if I'm back in Maui.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for a blissful three day stay.
Looking at the listing photo (looking towards the sliding glass door) now that we have returned home, my wife and I commented that it really IS that beautiful! Though I read the reviews about the location, I had not expected what we rented. Being on the ground floor at the corner of the building, allowed us to just open the doors and walk right out to watch the sunset. There was a grass area for sitting on recliner chairs directly beyond the lanai, and the beach was just beyond. Grills were within 30 feet of the condo. Truly wonderful.
Our only regret is that we spent only one night.
My partner and I spent a week at this property and couldn't be happier with the stay. The location was perfect and right on the beach. Being able to sit on the patio and listen to the ocean was amazing. AC worked great, space was great for 2 people, kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. Bed was very comfortable and check in process was very simple. Great communication from the owner. Would definitely stay here again!
Really nice place right on beach. Loved the sunsets and ability to walk right out onto the beach. Great pool and Dinah's Deli right in complex for sandwiches and beer wasalso a plus. The entire complex was so well maintained. Definitely would stay here again if we ever make it back to Maui. Really nice a/c which you definitely need in Hawaii to sleep at night.
Joan was incredible helpful and thoughtful when I told her what we were doing on Maui. The condo is steps from the beach. It is clean and updated with lots of amenities.

Wouldn't add a single thing to this cozy place. Will try my best to return to Maui and will definitely come back to this specific condo.

My husband and I are returning guests to this condominium. Every visit has been wonderful, and it is always clean, comfortable, relaxing and located right on a beautiful beach.
We were so excited about staying at this property but sadly when we arrived it had just been cleaned and the ceiling was covered in bugs (dead and alive). Smashed 1 spider in corner and another ran behind the baseboard. Not the cleanest property and we stayed for a few moments to voice concerns to VRBO and host and then we cancelled our stay and left.
The view is incredible. The property is older and needs some updating but all of the bugs were a no-go for us so we opted to not stay at all. Sad because the view and location was great.
Host was apologetic and refunded us as well as VRBO even though it was a longer process to communicate with VRBO than expected.
