Having finished our 13th annual holiday to Maui including 9 stays in numerous units at this condo complex, we are very familiar with a broad cross-section of units in this project.
This unit is in serious need of overall cleaning and a significant facelift to address a broad range of shortcomings: unclean interior floors to the point we quickly got very dirty bare feet and decided to wear shoes inside, painted surface chips/wear/scratches/peeling, damaged/swollen/separating engineered flooring pieces, outdated/minimal interior decor, little artwork/decoration on walls, LR furniture absolutely worn out (all couch springs can be felt and padding provides literally zero support, requiring one to sit on and lean back on couch throw cushions to reduce discomfort-we do not have back issues but felt like we did after using couch), unsure if bed mattress is worn out, but overlay of cheap low quality foam top pad provides very little support, tv remote control down arrow did not work thus unable to use search function, exterior grounds and building exterior are very well looked after, location has excellent walkability and proximity to beach and stores/restaurants.
Next year we will choose from other units, as most would offer much better value and interior impression..
I really like this place. It was very comfortable
Quite nice. I enjoyed it. Only small complaints. The floors were sandy upon arrival. I had to vacuum them. Also the TV remotes were confusing. There were two and neither matched the photo instructions in the guest manual.
The location was great, maintained grounds, Kamaole Beaches across the street, close to shopping, and dining. The description is accurate and so are several of the reviews. Considering the time of year, we were very comfortable without ever touching the AC as the cross winds kept the condo cool when the slider and front door was open. However, would have liked the ability to control the bedroom ceiling fan separate from the light.
A few things to note regarding our stay: 1. Only one of the windows sections within the slider had a screen. 2. Had a big roach problem, which seemed to be limited to only the kitchen—the entire kitchen counters, dishwasher, and etc. After taking a close look throughout the kitchen, it almost appears as if they enter from the plumbing or under the rotting base cabinets. Given the climate, I could understand a few but nothing like this and in all our visits to the islands, this was the first. We had friends staying in the same building who did not have the same issue, nor did our neighbors. 3. Upon arrival, I had to use the tools supplied in the condo to reattach one of the shower doors to the track, which we still had an issue with throughout our stay. 4. Bath sink had a leak.
After about a week in the condo and taking our own action to try and control the roach problem (food was sealed in zip lock bags, stored in the refrigerator, dishes, and kitchen cleaned after each use), we noticed a leak under the bath sink, which was obvious that someone already knew about it as there was a bowl under the trap to catch the leaking water. We did not notice it when placing our TP and other items under the sink until it was too late. After contacting the management company, they apologized and quickly sent an exterminator and plumber to resolve both issues, and also provided some relief after our stay. Although the leak was resolved, we still saw a few roaches but not to the extent as during the first week.
The roach and plumbing issues are the only reason for not giving a 4- or 5-star review. Likewise, the customer service and professionalism of the management company definitely improved the rating. We come to the islands at least once a year and would consider staying here again on our next visit to Maui as long as we could be assured the roach issue is addressed regularly or have been resolved. I will say this, none and absolutely none of the above issues dampened our spirits or ruined our visit.
We had a few roaches, understandable in this climate but more than previous stays in the complex. Would have liked a separate switch for the ceiling fan from the light in the bedroom. Overall this is a nice place to stay, convenient to shopping and across the street from the beach. We would absolutely stay here again if the opportunity arises.
We had a great stay due to the location of the unit. The view is awesome and we spent hours whale watching. The beach equipment, chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, towels were an nice asset. The kitchen was well equipped and serviceable, refrigerator & stove were very nice. The bed was ok, but the waterproof cover on the mattress, (one also on the pullout matress- but not an issue there after the necessary inclusion of the 8” foam topper pad we found in the bedroom closet which made the pullout serviceable), was noisy, stiff and spoiled sleeping. The ceiling fans and upright fan, louvered windows, door and slider screens performed well and we didn’t use the airconditioning the entire ten days.
On the downside the couch and chair in the living room are dated and worn. The pullout coach, which our third used, and upholstered chair should be discarded. The foam pad provided to make the pullout bed servicable is soiled and torn. The porch furniture is too big to be comfortably usable. The floor under the couch by the sliding glass door has been damaged by moisture and warped in the past. The kitchen appliances were good, but the caninets are dated and cheap. The TV picture died our last night - sound & cable functionality, but no picture. Maintenance was called immediately and was professional, but unable to assist overnight.
Has a kitchen washer and dryer! By the pools it has a grilling station which we used in the evenings as well! Would probably stay again if we could get an earlier check in-otherwise would stay somewhere else! Has good views as well
The location across from Kam II beach, next to shopping and restaurants is great. However, the unit needs to be updated. The air conditioner is located in the living/dinning/kitchen and works great when you go during the hottest part of the year, but there is a wall blocking off the bedroom area and no air or breeze is able to reach that area. There is a pullout couch that you are able to sleep on in order to sleep in a cooler temperature, but the couch has to be from the 70s. The springs are incredibly hard if they aren't shot/broken. We saw roaches every day in the unit, the bathroom floor could be cleaner, and bring your own hand soap because they do not provide any.

Nice view from lanai. Adequately stocked kitchen and linens. Beach cooler with no handle was unusable. 10am checkout excessive. No sound system... Air conditioning could not make it through the nite without overflowing needs upgrade. Crazy to carry plastic tub with overflowing water trying not to spill. 2 fans would be smart idea. Stayed with my daughter and the pull out is dilapidated. Used the memory foam top on the pullout but still had to sleep with head at foot of the bed also was a struggle to operate . 1 pool key is unbelievable should be keyless with code. If you don’t want guests to use your towels on floors we recommend provide a basic mop for spills nothing elaborate required
The condo has a little problem with ants. The sofa bed was uncomfortable to sleep in. The shower door is unstable. However, condo was comfortable and it met our needs. Thanks!
