The condo was listed as "ground floor" but you have to go downstairs to get to it and my husband has gout and his feet are not in good shape and my knees and back are bad. The smell upon walking in to this condo on the 1st day was horrendous, it smelled of pure mildew, like it was all closed up for quite a while with no ventilation. I know that we are in the islands and that there is going to be creepy crawly things but there was a bunch of cockroaches, geckos, and even centipedes made it in to the condo. In other condos that we stayed at had extra blankets but this condo has 1 set per bed. The shower can get really slippery and dangerous while showering and the shower curtain has mold on it. The parking is tight and it is a walk away from the condo and walking slightly up hill to it can be a struggle for elderly people and people that have other health issues. There was no broom for me to sweep the floor with and it drove me crazy with all the sand that got tracked in. The shower in the 2nd bathroom is really tiny (mentioned in the listing) and the shower curtain also had mold on it. The people upstairs are really loud, they were slamming stuff around at 7am, every day. The bottom of the sofa is falling apart, we lifted it to look for a roach that ran underneath it. I was thankful for all the fans, we didn't pay attention to where the listing said that there was "No AC!" it gets really warm and muggy here. Its quite a ways from downtown but in a great area.
This condo was disgusting. We moved to a different condo after 3 days of dealing with Grand Welcome (the management company).
The room our two young children stayed in smelled strongly of mold. The blankets and pillows were moldy, and the box spring mattresses on all three beds in the place had mold stains all over them. These had been conveniently covered by form-fitting, spotless bed skirts. By the end of our 3 days in this place all four of us had irritation coughs.
The property had a scheduled pesticide spray during the middle of our stay. They suggested we just leave the property for a couple hours that day rather than giving us the option to cancel the spraying. We had to work to get them to cancel it.
One of the towels on the rack when we arrived was wet (not damp) and smelled strongly of mold.
The microwave and dishwasher were both broken.
Many of the light and fan switches didn't work properly.
The blinds in all the rooms were broken: missing slats, severed pull cords, and all were dingy and stained.
There was a strong mold smell under then kitchen sink cabinet that transferred to the garbage bags and other items in the vicinity.
The shower in the master bathroom was dirty, with the drain plug broken, and mold creeping up the grout in the tiles and up the shower curtain.
There was NO cell signal in the unit.
Grand Welcome was reticent to provide any meaningful refund for our negative experience. Vrbo was unhelpful in this, too.
Great place beautiful view of golf course
Overall property was clean. Only thing that really stood out was that shower curtain had a pink and black algea/mold . Time to wash it.
Also not enough laundry soap. Ony 4 pods for a family of four for a week at the beach is not enough. Especially when its expected to do towels at end of stay.
Everything else was great.
Efficient, informative check in process!
We made good use of the beach equipment provided and even used the pool at the property. We would definitely rent this property again.
