I know it is my fault but I assumed these nice places in Princeville had air-conditioning.
This is our 5th time back to the island. Our trip was for celebrating our daughters wedding. There were several parties with us of which 2 groups stayed at the Plantation. The ability to be close with the others was perfect. North shore is our favorite and when we return again in a couple years, the Plantation will be first of choice for accommodations.

We found the rental to be as advertised and very clean, the location was easy access from the main highway, located closely to various stores for food and sundry's. We had one small glich and upon notifying the mgmt co, it was immediately remedied. great job done

My number one concern is always the cleanliness of where we stay. Immediately upon entering I could tell it was very clean. Except the carpet. It was clean but very stained. Which was fine but I hope they replace the carpet soon, maybe with a darker color. We did have an issue with the dryer not drying well. When I contacted them about it they were quick to respond and had a repair man there the next day. At least I think they did because the dryer never worked any better, we just learned to add lots of extra drying time for our clothes. But, that was really our only issue during our stay. The location was great and the provided amenities were perfect. We even had enough pots and pans to cook our Thanksgiving dinner. There were plenty of towels, a cooler, beach chairs and some beach toys. It was nice to have a garage to park in as well. Overall it was a fantastic place to stay and I would recommend it.

Wonderful vacation spot and beautiful weather while we were there. We did have problems with the air conditioner. It was difficult to figure out how to use it and it leaked when it was running. Some instructions on use of the a/c would be helpful.
We stayed at the beginning of August. I agreed with one of the other reviewer. The property needs some updating. A few items were not in working condition. My biggest issue was the Air conditioning. Yes I read the property description and it stated clearly that like other property in Kauai, the unit does not have AC. I find that to be untrue. The unit itself does have a AC unit, but for some reason, perhaps it is not working and owner doesnt want to fix it, it was not available to rental. There are plenty of other properties in Kauai that offers AC unit. Our two other groups who rented other properties in Kauai had AC and their rental price was alot lower than what we paid for at this property. We didnt think it was a problem at first but we were wrong. It was very unpleasant to walk in a humid, stuffy house after a day of hiking/outing and having to quickly open up 10 windows to get some air in. And it is also a hassle to make sure all 10 windows are closed and locked when we leave the house each morning. On top of that, leaving the windows open at night to hear the next door AC going off and on in the middle of the night is another problem. It's not extremely loud, but its loud enough to wake you up and wonder what the noise is. Then there are the early birds who wakes up early to get an head start on their days, you'll be hearing them get in the car, start the car and drive off.
Now on to property management - they are quick to response but that's pretty much it. We reported that the front screen door was broken and right away they responded, but no repairman was done, even after the 7 days we were there. Same thing with the garage door not opening, yes there's a attached garage but door doesnt open. The toilet handle was broken one night and it took them 48 hours to fix, leaving 7 of us sharing one toilet.
The shower head in the master was slow dripping, master bed is lumpy, bed sheet were worn out and rough, kitchen is bare minimal. No ingredients. Be prepare and buy all your ingredients like salt, pepper, sugar, oil, etc. Most rental places we rented before include some of these ingredients.
Cleanliness -- upon check in, there were sands in the kitchen, rather than wait , we took out the vacuum and took care of it asap.
With all these issues, I would not recommend this place until these are resolved. Other properties in the area are less expensive and offer more. Sometime perfect pictures aren't as perfect.
