Overall we enjoyed our stay. The view can not be beat! 180 degree ocean view from the lanai. We spend every morning and sunset out there watching whales and just relaxing. The building is really showing its age however the finishes and furnishings in this unit are updated and in good condition. No noise from the street or neighbors, only the ocean! Well equipped kitchen. Great location in Poipu! We could walk to the beach. I think it was 1/3 of a mile. In the other direction was a fantastic walking path that runs up to the Hyatt. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning. Listing says it has AC but it’s only a tiny portable unit that doesn’t really do much unless you’re standing in front of it. It was requested that we leave the windows closed while out for the day so that means we came home to a roasting hot condo. Even in January, fans and ocean breezes don’t really cut it. Mornings were pleasant but after an entire day of south facing sun exposure, the afternoons, evenings, and nights were not very comfortable inside. But I must reiterate that the view and location are absolutely top notch!

The best view in Poipu. Absolutely gorgeous!Beautifully furnished, including the spacious lanai.Downsides: an occasional sewage smell emanating from outside of the property. The unit was too hot to sleep comfortably.

Great, quiet location in Poipu. Easy parking & access. Excellent service from Lucy & all! Office conveniently located. Spacious and comfortable layout for 2 couples. No privacy in the master bedroom (door). 2nd bedroom need a/c. No circulation. Also junky closet with all the beach gear. Showers are in bad shape. Needs deep cleaning in kitchen & bathrooms.

We have returned to this unit in the Kahili for over 30 years. The view is incomparable. The south shore never fails to please. This is our home away from home. This is not just a base to see the island. This is the reason we go, to stay in this unit.
The apartment was clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed. It's on the 5th floor (there's an elevator) and it's on the ocean corner of the apartment building. Awesome views!

501 offers a breathtaking view along with swaying palm trees and the sound and sights of crashing waves right below our Lana'i. The decor and amenities were lovely. The kitchen offered nice dishes and cooking ware. My 2 adult daughters & I have stayed at Sunset Kahili before and love the location. Kauai Vacation Rentals were great to work with.
I’m afraid to write too many nice things about this condo and then it won’t be affordable next time I visit Kauai. But the location is spectacular. The condo is clean and decorated so nicely. The complex is quiet and clean. I’ll only ever want to stay here every trip to Kauai.

We do love coming back to 501. The view is wonderful. We were disappointed that new ownership did not replace the screen doors. The tv stand is too bulky for the room. Shutters would have been a nice improvement.With such a large increase in rent, we would have expected new furniture. We still love the Kahili & 501, & will return again, but maybe not stay as long.

Our stay was lovely and we would love to come back but the price has become exorbitant. An extreme jump from $6600 to $9103 for the same amount of time is something we'd seriously have to consider.

Rainbows galore. Great response to service needed to figure out how to use the TV. Clean rooms. Large deck is terrific. Weather was so windy that whale spouts were very hard to see. But best weather in the island is on this side of the island.

Once more we returned to Kauai, Poipu, and the Sunset Kahili. We have been doing so since before Iniki. Some things have changed, but the view, the ocean and the shore line remains the same. It was good to be back where it was warm, even though it did rain. Kauai never disappoints.

We loved our stay at Sunset Kahili 501, we've been lucky to return to this property after such a long absence and enjoy each and every moment. Lucy and the Kaua'i Vacation Rentals team have always been so exceptional and professional with us. Aloha nui loa.
This is the best view on the island. Crashing waves, great sunset and panoramic views of the Pacific. Very peaceful with one caveat. There is a property manager there who obviously doesn't want renters. Most people own there. He gave us a hard time twice and I reported it to Kauai Vacation Rentals. They called me and I thought they were going to apologize but instead informed us we were getting fined for parking in the loading zone! They never read my email which told them ahead of time that friends had come to pick us up for dinner and they parked there for literally two minutes before this manager was banging on the door and threatening to have it towed. I thought KVR's was calling me to offer compensation and an apology. They should have just blown him off. I would still highly recommend this place and maybe you will not experience a problem there with him. But KVR did disappoint an otherwise lovely time.

We loved our vacation time in Sunset Kahili 501. Being an end unit on the top floor, the views and sounds of the ocean were amazing - beautiful, relaxing, and ever-changing. Every single day we could look down from our living room window, lanai, or steps and see Green Sea Turtles swimming near the shore. The unit was beautiful inside, with comfortable furnishings and a very handy full-sized washer and dryer tastefully tucked into a cabinet and closet. Very nice beach chairs, books, and games were available for our use. Kauai Vacation Rentals was so welcoming with a reusable tote which included yummy treats and a small cooler to use throughout our trip and beyond. Kauai Vacation rentals also worked hard to accommodate our needs. We were very pleased with their professional manner. We definitely hope to stay in 501 again!

We spent 2 weeks on Kauai in Sunset Kahili 501 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Being on the top floor and end unit we enjoyed sunrises from the east, almost 180 degrees of ocean view and sunsets in the west. Being on the top floor also ensured privacy. The unit was well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a rice cooker. Also supplied was a beach umbrella, snorkeling equipment and beach chairs. The pool was deliciously warm. We fell asleep each night to the ocean surf. A wonderful stay.

Our expectations were met since we've stayed at the this condo several times. We love the view. The sliding doors are a safety hazard and need replacing (the screens fell out of the track multiple times!). The master ceiling fan also needs replacing as it's a necessity without A/C. Property should supply more supplies like TP and garbage bags depending on length of stay. Property rules are too rigid and make you feel like you're staying in a retirement facility (pool hours 9-8!).

We were so grateful that we were able to make our annual return to 501. Despite there being new covid 19 virus related rules, we were able to come to Kauai. The unit had been prepared to be virus clean, and we appreociated that. We missed our friends who could not make it from the mainland, but the locals were so friendly, helpful and caring, they helped make up for those missing. We enjoyed our rest, but look forward to returning again, when more can enjoy the Aloha spirit of the Kahili and Kauai !!
