I give this five stars based on the location alone. It is in one of the Kamaole Sands buildings located closest to the beach, and it's almost quicker to walk to the beach than it is to the swimming pool. The view from the lanai is fantastic. Every day I sat there with my binoculars and saw dozens of whale spouts -- and sometimes the breaching whales themselves. The cleanliness of the place was up to luxury hotel standards. I noticed a bit of a musty smell in the bathroom, but I never figured out why because it was spotless. Like other reviewers, I had trouble figuring out the TV situation. Some instructions would help. Overall, this is a great spot next to a fantastic beach (Kamaole III) and close to more great beaches in both Kihei and in Wailea, which is just down the road.
We stayed in this unit Monday to Saturday and it was awesome. The location is fantastic with the beach right across the street and so many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The property is beautiful and the staff are so friendly. The unit itself was fabulous, we actually didn't even need to contact the owner for anything. The lanai is amazing for sunsets and whale watching, the bed was comfy and the bedroom stayed cool, the kitchen was great and the living space was comfortable and roomy. My only suggestions to the owner would be to provide travel cups and a beach umbrella but other than that this place was perfect and we would definitely stay here again!!

This unit is absolutely beautiful. Great location to take in the chill Hawaiian vibes. You can see the water perfectly from the balcony. Very quiet calm neighborhood and a few minute walk to the beach!

This is the second year we’ve stayed in the same condo. I would highly recommend a new television in the bedroom. It’s very hard to watch as it has lights shining through it and you can sometimes not see the picture. It was this way last year as well. Otherwise the condo is very nice.
This location was perfect and everyone we came in contact with was so welcoming and friendly. Definitely will look to stay here on our next trip! Mahalo!!

Good location and well stocked with beach chairs available for use. Clean and two AC units to keep the unit cool. Lanai looks over the parking lot but ocean views in distance. Quiet and comfortable place to stay for the week!

We haves stayed a Kamaole Sands several times at different units and this we our least favourite. The AC in the bedroom had only one speed which was high and noisy . We stayed for 9 nights and had very little sleep as AC at a deafening noise level during the night . The microwave hood fan also has only one speed which was high . Toaster was poor quality and didn’t toast well only burned. Kitchen is severely lacking - from utensils (4 large spoons and about 5 forks ) to dishes - three side plates , five mugs and about four dinner plates. As this unit can hold four people , you would have do do dishes after every meal. Can opener was rusted and no baking sheets. TV was hard to use , no instructions provided. Unit was clean and had ample towels for bathroom and beach . It also contained coolers and two beach chairs which was nice for trips to the beach. We paid for late check out for 10 pm but got locked out after 10 am . Thankfully we had cellphone with us to call property rental company to get new door code . Again annoying as late check out was pre- arranged and paid for. View from lanai was amazing but not worth the price we paid and subpar equipment.
Kamaole Sands is our favourite place to stay when visiting Maui but not in this unit. Kitchen was lacking in utensils, plates , mugs so we had to wash dishes after every meal. Can opener was cheap and rusted , no baking sheets and there was only one large unsharp knife for meal prep. The AC unit in the bedroom was uncomfortably loud and you cannot adjust the settings. We slept poorly for all nine nights as AC made so much noise at night but it was too hot to turn it off and use only the ceiling fan. Microwave hood fan only had one setting also - high . Toaster was cheap and only burned not toast. We pre-arranged and paid for late check out for 10 pm but got locked out at 10 am. Unit was clean with amazing view form the lanai . Lots of towels for both bathrooms and beach towels for beach or pool. I would not recommend this unit and it definitely put a hamper on our recent visit to Maui with the price we paid and the subpar equipment and supplies in this unit
