Instructions to access the property was ready and property manager communicated very well and promptly.
Convenient location to all. Nice little beach across the street. Great sushi 2 min away. None of the other reviews address the fact that the end unit is next to the 30 making sleeping with open windows impractical. That coupled with a 6 hour timer on the AC made sleeping a challenge.
First, the positives. The location and view were great! We also thought the two beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, the rest of the unit was really disappointing. The biggest issue was the AC. The ad says there are two units, which was a big reason we chose this place, but you have to manually crank them on every 6 hours and one knob was broken! So inconvenient and frustrating. We never would have booked this place if we knew that, someone had to get up in the night to turn it back on and the primary/living space never got very cool. If we were gone longer than 6 hours the whole place was so hot and miserable when we returned. Also, the hallway bathtub wouldn’t plug and was rusting. The walls were covered in dirt and handprints/marks and the baseboards were extremely dusty. I don’t know what the cleaning fee goes towards because we also found dark curly hairs in the towels and couch.Oh, another huge issue is the front door doesn’t have a deadbolt and our 3 year old was able to open it and get out anytime of day/night.We arrived and the pool key was missing, I had to call multiple times and was told a different story, even lied to and told it was in the unit but after searching everywhere she admitted that wasn’t true and they’d have to bring it to us… so we went 2 of our vacation days without access to a pool, and had a very disappointed kiddo.I wanted to make sure we gave an honest review, I wish I had seen one beforehand!
Despite that this is 2bed/2bath, the larger master bedroom w/a 2-sink bathroom is a loft which the photos take great pains to hide. There are only two mini splits for the unit instead of three. So the master bedroom unit must also cool the downstairs living room. Both AC are on a six hour timer and can't be adjusted. We had mild mid-70's weather; in the 80's it would have been super unbearable. The unit was clean & decent. But there were marks on the walls, unpainted/missing moldings, and the front door had a big chunk ripped out at the bottom allowing the strong winds to whistle loudly inside. The biggest letdown was that the tenant two doors down was completing a remodel with raucous drilling/sanding/pounding/moving sounds even past midnight. After five days w/o letup, I complained to guest services who was kind and responsive. They said the mgr hadn't been informed & offered a tiny refund. As we are Kama'aina, I requested the locals discount instead and the mgr did give us a refund. For a family with kids, it's decent as there is a nice pool, it's a few minutes walk to the beach and there are beach chairs, but not full snorkeling gear. Still, it won't work well for two couples or other adults wanting privacy. The tv has multiple remotes (batteries are in a kitchen cupboard) and the instructions for use aren't accurate making it a real challenge.Lastly, the home owners behind the unit (beach view) have dogs that bark or howl quite often.
What an awesome location! The Condo was spotless and well stocked.
