While we looked forward to our stay in Maui, our experience with this rental property was unfortunately marred by significant cleanliness issues and poor communication from the management company.To be fair, some of the most important surfaces were clean upon our arrival. The bedding was fresh, the bed itself was comfortable, and the bathroom floors and toilet were clean. The kitchen countertops were also wiped down.However, beyond these initial surfaces, the lack of deep cleaning was apparent and unsettling. In the bathroom, the fan vent was caked with thick dust, and the shower fixture had a very visible layer of mineral buildup. On the vanity, a fake flower scent diffuser was coated in dust and tangled with hair. The kitchen was no better; the container of utensils (tongs, spatulas, etc.) next to the stove was greasy and dusty, as was the side of the refrigerator.Our discomfort was amplified on the first day when we discovered German cockroaches in and around the oven. A rental company associate did come to spray, but the problem persisted throughout our stay. The presence of pests, combined with the other dirty areas, made us question the overall hygiene of the property and left us feeling uneasy.Compounding these issues was a complete lack of effective communication. We sent questions to the rental company via the VRBO chat and received no response. Furthermore, the information provided to us via email about fees was incorrect and misleading. We were told to expe
We had a great trip to Maui. The condo had everything we needed for our 13 day stay. King bed is comfortable, with a good mattress. Bathroom is dated but everything works well. It was missing a cooler to pack for the beach, but management brought a new one over the next day. Condo also has beach chairs which we used when we visited some other beaches in the area. The 2 Pools here are nice and clean with a lot of lounge chairs also each pool area has a clean hot tub. There is a restaurant on site, with a walk up bar from the outside. There is a food truck park right beside the resort, and other places to eat within walking distance. Overall we had a nice stay.
Excellent , room was nice and reasonably priced, I guess. Bed could be better, an electric kettle or Keurig would be an improvement. Patio doors need an upgrade to open, close, and lock. One chair should be replaced.
The property grounds are very clean. The room itself is dated, the oven was terrible, cooking supplies are very poor quality and the patio door was extremely difficult to open and close. Outside of all of that it was very roomy and comfortable ( the sofa bed needs updating). Loved all the extra items like beach chairs. It stated there was a cooler for use but we never found it and we did replace the broken beach umbrella we found so it is available for the next guest. There was enough laundry supplies for 8 loads which was plenty, we never ran out of trash bags or dishwashing supplies and the limited amount of spices was a nice find to have!

The online listing was exactly as they listed. Often the pictures are misleading. This one was exactly as indicates. We knew what to expect. The unit was what I would describe as "tired", due to the age of the resort. It did not hamper our stay. We came to Hawaii to be by the ocean and to enjoy the sunshine, not to stay in doors. The number one thing we look for in a resort is safety and convenience. This unit provided us with this. It is perfectly located close to grocery stores, food trucks, the beach, hotel lounges, the ocean front boardwalk, and so much more. With our current Canadian dollar, this unit is excellent value for the money. We appreciated how easy it was to deal with the management company and the resort. Our overall experience on our trip was perfect. We have come back to Canada relaxed, rested, and refocused. Thank you! We would like to recommend this unit as a budget friendly unit to anyone.

The room was spacious, clean and had what we needed. I appreciated the brita filter they provided. The people at the reception desk and other staff were helpful, friendly and kind. The pool was clean and nice and the trees providing shade by the ocean was divine. I wish we had more of a direct view to the ocean rather than the partial view. Otherwise, it was wonderful!
My wife and I stayed here for a few nights before realizing this place was infested with cockroaches. Since the windows and doorwalls don't fully seal, it's a nightmare. We ended up leaving partway through our stay and the property manager insisted this was a new problem despite several prior reviews mentioning these issues.
Do yourself a favor and don't book this place. We overlooked the reviews and (literally) paid the price for it.

Property was good, could use some updates but certainly fine for our need. The wing of the property we were in was under construction right next to us. That became a bit annoying day after day but we enjoyed our stay. Property staff was great, Managenement staff was great, location was great, not being in Minnesota in February was great.

Unit 422 has a cockroach infested kitchen. We had to keep all our food stored away in the fridge and microwave. Had them running around the coffee machine, up the sides of the stove, coming out of the burners and running under the fridge. Looking at other recent reviews they had the same experience. The property manager denied anyone bringing this up before, which is funny because the recent reviews prove otherwise... Some of the reviews they responded to. Ha. The property owner did manage to bring us ant traps. When we pulled clean plates out of the cabinet dead ants where between them. They attempted to fix the sliding door by putting some WD40 but it did not help, it whistles with any breeze of wind and is very difficult to open. Probably why there are bugs, no seal on the front or back door. They said they will buy any chemicals we want to kill to roaches .. just what we came on vacation for. Lastly, the bedding had an airport baggage sticker from a previous occupant. They sent us a new blanket. The unit could be nice if it was maintained. Highly recommend not booking this place unless you want to deal with what we did. We spent the first week of our honeymoon at a different property and it was very clean with no issues whatsoever. Avoid this place at all cost!!!!!!! **However I will note that other units with the actual hotel might be nice, this one is just owned by a rental property organization. The hotel grounds were nice and well maintained, the building is so close to a nice beach and walking.

Our stay was very nice, the place was clean, there were extra towels. The washer and dryer was a bonus. The only thing we didn’t like was a couple bugs would come out at night. Not sure what type, but looked like the roach family. The bed was big and comfortable and you can see the ocean from the room/balcony. We would definitely stay again.
Very nice location, but the condo was outdated and missing lots. The kitchen was missing essential utensils, and there was a cockroach on the counter. The condo did not many beach amenities (chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc..). It also did not have an instructional manual in the condo. We would stay at Kaanapali Shores again, but we will be choosing a different condo next time.
The showet did not drain well and the chairs on the balcony were very uncomfortable
The property was beautiful and the condo was very clean and welcoming. I will definitely inquire about staying here again next time I come to my paradise.
