We had an amazing time at the room! It was a great space for our family of 5. An extra bonus was the items to use at the beach. Unfortunately, we had a problem with the sink but this was resolved eventually. The host was very communicable through this. Thank you for a lovely stay! We hope to return again!

This unit was just what my family was looking for. Location was awesome. Views of the ocean and Maui hills were beautiful. The unit was well equipped with all of the necessary items for a great time. Location was also a plus as it it close to a food truck park and other stores. Would highly recommend this unit!

Spacious condo with incredible views. There were so many in-unit amenities that I wish we had more time to enjoy. The property was perfect for families with easy access to pools, the beach, Dukes Restaurant and more. Would stay here time and time again.
This was such a great choice for our first stay in Maui. Perfect location. Lots of space in the condo. Great having the food trucks, beautiful beach and Duke's near the property. Even though the pool area was bustling, the resort and hallways were quiet. Would stay here again!

We recently stayed as a family of 5 and had a great time. The property manager was very responsive and check-in was a breeze. The unit itself was great and actually felt larger than it looks in the photos. Also, the view was fantastic (I was initially worried when booking that the ocean photo was a camera on a pole over the side). The views included the mountain side and a great view of the ocean from the Lanai. The only things that would have to be improved to be 5 stars across the board are: 1) The internet was extremely slow and it would often buffer when streaming and was slow to a crawl when 3 people were on it (3 IPADs). The fastest speed test I got was 25 mbps but it was most often below 3 mbps when more than one person was using the internet. Now, I will caveat that I did not address this with the property manager and perhaps they do have a higher speed subscription and maybe just needed to call their internet provider. 2) The pull out bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever felt. My 2 and 4 year old were ok on it but I don't think a teen or adult could sleep on it (and I am a retired soldier who has slept in horrible conditions).3)While the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking items, there were few actual dishes (I think 6 of each). So we had to run the dishwasher after every single meal so that we had dished for the next. While it's easy to run the dishwasher 3 times a day, I know it uses a lot of utilities so not ideal. I would stay again for sure

The resort has all you need. It’s beautiful and well maintained. Don’t sleep on the lattes in the general store.. Close to grocery and shopping. The condo was clean and spacious. Patio has great views. Well worth the cost, and the management was always accessible and friendly. Will definitely be back next year. definitely recommend !!!!!
We recently stayed at this property for 5 amazing nights. The property was spotless and included so many lovely touches. The kitchen was huge and fully stocked with everything we needed to cook awesome meals. Honua Kai is such a great resort and we surely will book this unit for all future trips.

We had a great time! Very clean, spacious, and well stocked…we loved having breakfast and dinner out on the lanai. And of course the pools are so much fun to hangout at all day!
Updates were frequent prior to arrival and continued all the way to check in. We arrived on an early flight prior to check in time. We asked the desk if we could go in and about 30 min later we were notified by text that our room was ready for us. This was great. The room is exactly as pictured and very clean. We will for sure be staying in this room again. This is a large room. big enough that our adult age kids could stay as well. Plenty of towels beach amenities and kitchen was fully stocked with all you need.
The unit was fully furnished and well stocked with towels, linens, kitchen ware, beach items, etc. Our unit was ready early on the day of check in and was extremely clean. The property manager was very prompt with all communications and provided very clear and informative instructions. The Honua Kai property is beautiful with many pools, beach front access, highly rated restaurant and close proximity to other resorts and Whalers Village (via beach walk). If you did want to leave the resort, thyoure close by to Napoli Bay and Kapula Bat. My family and I would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We had a couple of small issues which Hula Hideaways addressed immediately. Bed was super comfortable in the master and the pull out sofas were comfy as well (a rarity). The single bathroom is large but a bit hard to share as there is no divider for the shower or toilet. The view while not ocean front was lovely despite construction cranes blocking. To be clear this is not a two bedroom- the den does not close off. So there isn’t privacy outside of the Master bedroom but is a great choice for families. There was a grocery store directly behind the property as well as food trucks (expensive ones however). The pools and grounds were lovely. Would definitely book again.

I couldn’t say enough good things about our stay. We have stayed at Honua Kai several times, and it continues to be an excellent choice, especially for families with small children. The amenities are a huge plus and working with Hula Hideaway is always a pleasure. They are fast to respond and make sure you have everything you need. I highly recommend them and the resort.

Pools and hot tubs were not crowded, plenty of seating. Close to food trucks, restaurants, urgent care, and grocery.
The rental unit was beautiful and exactly as advertised with all the comforts of home (except a rice cooker for us island folk – we should have inquired before leaving home). Jill was a great host who responded quickly to all the questions we had. She gave us an early check in and a late check out. I would have given this review a 5 but there were a few things that did not go as planned, probably due to the Covid-19 situation.
We are a local family who live on Maui and our main reason for selecting this property was so that everyone, could enjoy the pools. Before booking, I called and asked if all the pools were open and was told it was. However, upon arrival on Friday afternoon, I was informed that the pool hours were changed from 6a-10pm to 9am-5pm, and that only 2 pools were open. One was a small pool by the villas with a maximum capacity of 30 people. And the other pool was called a “family pool” (which wasnʻt too much bigger than the 1st pool). What gave the pool situation a negative feel was that there were no umbrellas for shade by the family pool. Whereas all the surrounding pools that were closed had umbrellaʻs for shade. We asked a security guard if we could move the umbrellas and he said we should just go to the other pool. Our pool saga continued when on Saturday, after getting our family out of the pool by 5:00pm, we see people in the pool after 6:00pm and find that the hotel extended the time to 8:00pm without letting us know.
