The property was as pictured. It was clean and comfortable. No surprises. I messaged the owner prior to our arrival with a special (but easy) request and he made sure it happened. We would definitely stay here again.

Super clean room with a nice welcome of treats and a closet full of fun stuff we could use at the pool and beach. Modern coastal and renovated. Beautiful mountain view! Just right for our family of four. We would definitely stay in this unit again!
Maui wowie! This was an incredible space. Such nice furniture and view of West Maui Mountains. Honua Kai is a fantastic resort! So many pools to swim in and generous space. Duke’s poolside service was an absolute must.This is a beautifully decorated space, with great tvs, kitchen supplies, and beach necessities. Even the shampoo, soap, and hair dryer were top notch! The sunrise view is breathtaking over the mountains for breakfast but the curtains inside are perfect for protecting from heat during the day.Walking distance to Papi’s O’hana was great! Snorkeling was also fantastic! Many sea turtles were seen, even without snorkels and goggles! Clear views of Lana’i and Moloka’i on a pristine beach. The only things we would improve to our stay would be improved grill utensils. There were metal tongs supplied but other supplies would have been great with the very nice grills near the poolside (we grilled at sunset- highly recommend). The porch door was hard to close. Also the pillows were not our preference but otherwise an absolutely perfect stay to enjoy the very best of Maui. We definitely plan to come back!

We stay at Honua Kai often and love this resort. This room has been completely redone with a beachy vibe. You will want for nothing when you rent this room. It has everything you will need from kitchen items to bathroom and laundry items. This unit was very clean and well maintained. If we ever come without our kids again I will check this rooms availability first.

My 17 year old son and I stayed in Joe's condo for 4 nights in June. It was perfect! The condo was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The garden view was lovely and we had full rainbow views every afternoon. The location at the north end of Kanaapali Beach was great. It was centrally located but the beach never felt too crowded. There is a small market on site and Duke's Restaurant was terrific. We loved our stay and highly recommend these accommodations. We will be back for sure!

The perfect size for two people with a great fully equipped kitchen. We used the grills on property and cooked most nights!Dukes is right there and the beach is absolutely stunning.
We had a fantastic stay. Joe was quick to respond as we had a couple of questions leading into the trip. Check in was easy and parking was free and convenient. The room was clean, updated, and as listed. The facilities were great for my little kids. Their favorites were the water slide and lazy river like pool, which had splash pads that were great for my 1 year old. We would love to stay here again!
We absolutely loved this property—especially this unit! It had everything we needed and more. The thoughtful touches made all the difference, from the delicious guava cookies to the refreshing bottle of cold water waiting for us after a long flight. The owner was incredibly responsive and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. We can’t wait to return!
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was a perfect home base for our babymoon adventures. Joe gave very clear instructions for checking in. The condo was very clean and newly remodeled. The kitchen was well-stocked for making breakfast, though we didn’t try making any larger meals. The room came with beach towels, pool noodles, a cooler bag plus a couple ice packs (though we froze water bottles for extra ice), and beach chairs which were perfect for stargazing at Haleakala’s summit. We were initially worried about the proximity of the room to the elevator but it wasn’t a problem for noise at all and ended up being a bonus when hauling bags to and from the car. We liked that the room faced the mountains instead of towards one of the neighboring buildings or towards the courtyard because it felt very quiet and private and the balcony was shaded in the afternoons. The room was also high enough that street and outside noise wasn’t a problem. The pools were not overly crowded and we were always able to find a quiet spot. We also liked that we could easily walk the boardwalk along the coast. I’d highly recommend this condo and resort for any couples or small families looking for a peaceful stay and more amenities than a standard hotel room!
It was perfect for our family of 5! The resort was family friendly and the unit was comfortable and provided everything you may need to prepare meals. They even had 2 sets of snorkel gear, beach chairs and some toiletries. The washer and dryer was a plus!
The condo unit was well updated, clean and had everything a family would need for a worry free stay. We have been to honua kai many times and this was our best stay! When we return to Maui in the future, we will definitely stay here again.

I’ve stayed at this resort many times and this unit is by far the nicest 1 bedroom! It’s newly updated and super cozy. This unit is equipped with everything you need for your stay. The check in was seamless and Joe is very responsive.I would definitely stay here again. Mahalo

We couldn't have asked for a better First Maui VRBO experience.Thank you Joe! Midway through the trip we made the connection that Disney's Lilo & Stitch movie has a reference to 626. :) We thought it was fun, so our talented 14 year old artist drew Stitch in the Guestbook.The unit has all the comforts of home that a 1-bedroom unit can offer. We added an Air Fryer to the unit along with some air fryer liners, to make preparing meals that much easier for us and for future guests. You're welcome. :)Waking up to the sunrise over the West Maui Mountains was delightful. It took us a few tries but we finally found out the best place to park our vehicle in the underground parking garage (nearest the entrance). The onsite restaurant (Duke's) was a great place to grab takeout from --- the steak tacos and burger were yummy.We enjoyed the pools and hot tub afterdark (tip: they close at 10) and enjoyed some stargazing on the beach, taking in the nightsky after our eyes were adjusted to tiki torch lit walkways.Having 3 beach chairs in the unit with a beach umbrella was a nice touch. These items are used and show their age --- so adjust your expectations.Overall we were very happy staying there and looked forward to coming home each time. Until next time!

We had an excellent stay. Room was nicely remodeled and clean. We really appreciated the beach gear that was provided in the room. Property manager was super responsive when we had a minor issue with the dryer. We hope to be returning guests in the near future.
We spent a week in this property and couldn’t be happier. The place was beautiful and clean. The beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed for the week. The resort is so so good. The pools are amazing and the beach is right there. The views of the mountain were great and we loved having breakfast and dinner often on the balcony. Would definitely stay here again.
This condo and the property are fantastic! The condo is beautifully decorated and spotless. We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Loved all the pools, dukes and of course the beaches. I have only good things to say about the property and Joe. Would love to come back and wished we could have stayed longer.
