Second time we have stayed at honua kai and the location is amazing. Super close to the store and steps away from the beach and pool. We will be back!
Perfect size for 2 people. We needed a home base for our Hawaii adventure. Having a kitchen, place to work from and a washer/dryer is a necessity when we travel. The condo was perfect. The lanai was awesome as it faced the morning sunshine so we could wake up and enjoy a few peaceful moments as the sun rose. The beds are very comfortable and the condo was well stocked with outdoor items needed for a day at the beach. We would definitely return.
This unit was great. Very clean. Nice view. Conveniently located to the pool and elevators.
I highly recommend staying at this property. The property managers were kind and attentive, they made our stay very convenient and pleasant. The condo was very clean and had every amenity we could ask for, including everything necessary to make my 18 month old son very comfortable and happy (high chair, sleeping cot and even a stroller).
Thr property is conveniently located on a resort with many amazing and beautiful pools, a great restaurant and beachfront access that is breathtaking. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
I've stayed with my family at the Honua Kai resort three times (pool, location, property amenities are wonderful). This specific unit is very well maintained with obvious investments in premium TVs, streaming services, gifts, etc. upon arrival to make the hosts stand out. I would stay there again and recommend their specific unit.

I had an amazing stay at Honua Kai with Hawaii Life! The check-in process was incredibly smooth, and communication with the host was fantastic both before and during my stay. The condo was spotless, with stylish decor that made it feel like a true home away from home. The condo had all of the amenities for us to cook with, and the wagon and beach chairs were an added bonus for the beach. Really nice touch with the thoughtful welcome gifts in the Condo when we arrived. The resort itself was fantastic, offering multiple pools to choose from, and the beach was absolutely stunning—its steps from the pools. Lots of beach towels available using the towel system in the resort, great sunsets with some live music from Duke’s. There is an Safeway about 10 mins away that had everything we needed for groceries. Overall, a perfect vacation spot that I would love to visit again. Highly recommended!
We loved our stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful, we loved being able to use all the pools, workout room and access to the beach. The condo was beautifully decorated, a quick elevator ride and walk to the pool or beach, cozy beds and plenty of room to rejuvenate for another day. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the lani as well as breakfast and lunch. Our family of 5 with 3 teens, two being girls especially liked the large bathroom and were able to make only having one work just fine. The wagon, chairs and beach toys were a wonderful addition!

My family (three adults and one 7 y/o), stayed at this condo for about a week, and we could not have been happier! It was very clean, and they provided ample stock of supplies. Beds were comfortable and the unit was quiet. The in-unit laundry was a must for us and very convenient. We used the kitchen often and it had all the utensils, pans, etc that we needed. We often ate on the balcony looking out at the well-maintained grounds and rainbows that would appear frequently toward the mountains. It is a quick walk to the pool(s), Duke's Restaurant (on property), and the beach. We used the provided beach chairs, umbrella, and wagon to haul our stuff nearly every day. The community BBQs near the pool are well maintained by the property staff. There is pretty good snorkeling at the beach nearby. We saw an array of beautiful fish, and even an occasional turtle. Black Rock and other well known snorkeling spots are not far away either. Parking is underground in the same building, and once we found the right elevator, was also easy and convenient. The property management was very responsive when we alerted them to a broken item--even promptly bringing over a replacement.
It's always a little nerve wracking for me to choose a place to stay, especially for a week or more, but we had no regrets on this property choice once we saw it and experienced it for ourselves.
The resort itself was very nice but we had some issues with the apartment. The AC didn't work very well so it was difficult to sleep at night.
Another frustrating thing was the rules said not to bring sand into the apartment or you lose your deposit (which is a significant amount of money). This was almost impossible to do since you're living close to the beach and we had little kids. So no matter how much or often we rinsed off before entering the apt, there was still sand in there. So we spent a lot of time sweeping the apt which was annoying considering it was a vacation.
I also reached out to the management for a recommendation for dinner reservations and nobody got back to me.
