Great, clean house with 4 bathrooms, great kitchen. Large tables inside and out for a crew. But the property is dated. I acknowledge that upkeep near Hawaii shoreline is a challenge. The pool interior is ready for redo...but kids will not care and easy to monitor from comfortable locations. The pool water was clean since it recycles every day. This is a large, roomy house for group, but HOT bedrooms on main floor, since AC is not centrally located. The dryer vents into the laundry/twin bedroom, making it a sauna. House is in a wonderful location to drive to many rocky swim areas with many small fish and several sea turtles in January. Most have showers/foot washers. The road toward Hilo turns into a crazy busy highway, if trying to bike into downtown Hilo. Location was good for driving to groceries, sites and the Farmers Market.The neighborhood was quiet with a few cars parking for Chock's beach. It was a loud military flight path for a few nights.Well stocked house cook wear, dishes, good appliances. lots of towels. Grill worked well.

We are not resortish people and this was a great alternative. everything we needed was in walking distance or short drive. Nights were peaceful and we enjoyed the privacy of the pool and hot tub. The odd plane flying over when the winds were rarely in that direction was actually quite a site rather than annoyance. Jomo looked after a couple of requests immediately. Thanks for a great stay.
This house was a quirky place with a mix of luxury and quaintness. The pool was a bit disappointing, as it needed cleaning, but the beach was not far away. Once you found the right light switches, everything worked as it should. AC was good in most of the house except the kitchen and adjacent bedrooms. It never really cools down in there. We would stay here again.
Great property for family stay. Lots of beds, bathrooms, sofas, table and chairs, and pool/hot tub. Air conditioners upstairs kept upstairs nice and cool. Owner was very responsive to any questions. Private beach at end of cul de sac was great for snorkeling and sunsets.
Only thing I would suggest is to put an A/C unit in one of the bedrooms by the pool; this would also help cool the kitchen area which stays very warm.
Robert was communicative and helpful.
Overall, we loved it and everything was as good as advertised accept two things:
1. it might be helpful to know is the disproportionate size of the Master bedroom suite (which was huge) compared to the rest of the rooms.
2. The room with two beds is tiny and has the washer and dryer in it, so depending on who is staying there, it could be an inconvenience.
Came to have a memorial for a family member. It was a great place to stay and reconnect. Eight of us stayed here and had plenty of room and didn’t feel cramped. Close to secret beach and a very central location. Enjoyed it very much!!!
Awesome house. Relaxing in the pool every day for 10 days. What a location. So beautiful. Robert is an awesome host and it was a privilege to stay in his beautiful home!
