SUPER CHARMING - Hawaiian Vintage styled Cottage..Close to beaches and natural pool. Fully upgraded with lots of amenities. All new comfy furniture to kick back and watch a movie.
Free high speed wireless Internet,
Hana is commonly known as the “Last Hawaiian Place.” Step back into the charm and casual elegance of old Hawai’i in an authentic, meticulously renovated plantation owners home in Hana.
Once used to house managers from the sugar cane plantation days, this home, named Hale Ulu Lulu, underwent a major rebuilding (completed in early 2020 and constantly maintained) and is now completely restored with attention to historic detail, while providing every modern convenience. We There is an open and airy layout with ocean and pastoral views , elegantly detailed, vintage style bath with dual-sided claw foot tub (great for romantic baths for two), granite kitchen counters with reclaimed Koa wood bar/counter and trim accents. A sliding panel of framed Tapa cloth between the bedroom and living area allows you to relax in bed to the incredible view or, when closed, to have complete privacy from the rest of the house.
The furnishings are comfortable and upgraded with a plush leather couch and chair. We have designed the cottage with warm tropical colors, original local artwork, Hawaiian antiques and Polynesian exotica. Though the house has a tasteful and elegant décor, you can still put your feet on the furniture and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. You will arrive to rooms filled with brilliant tropical flowers and orchids, 100% cotton, high thread count, quality linens and towels and quality soaps as well as coffee and green tea to start off your first day with us – fine details on par with the finest luxury hotel at a fraction of comparable prices.
Hale Ulu Lulu is part of a sprawling two-acre property surrounded by gracious lawns and verdant foliage.
We are located just three miles south of Hana Town in the Maka’alae district, which is considered the most highly desired area of Hana. You are sure to fall in love with the picturesque and pastoral landscape, the ever-changing ocean colors and the gentle sound of the waves lulling you to sleep at night. Walk 20 minutes to the world famous Hamoa Beach (or a 4 minute drive) or 20 minutes in the other direction to the Venus pool- two of Hana’s most desired attractions – practically in our back yard!

This charming cottage in Hana takes one back in time to another era where life was a little less complicated. It's a good example of how a seemingly simple little home that is nicely cared for can be all one needs. The home and grounds exemplify Feng shui, in perfect alignment with neighbouring pastures and the nearby ocean. One looks forward to returning after a full day of exploring and just being. The home does have some critters like a couple geckos and the odd spider that somehow sneak in past the screens. The signs of life are a welcome sign, I'm grateful the owners don't spray the place to death like other rentals. The property is on the "highway" but it's barely noticeable. The home is very quiet and peaceful, except for the sounds of nature (like crickets at night). The location can not be beat. You're just slightly out of town in an absolutely beautiful area, but 3 minutes from the beach. If you're considering staying in Hana, you'll be delighted with this choice. Don't make the mistake of staying for too short a period. Hana has so much to enjoy.

Stay here!Note that food in town can run out at The food trucks by early evening and there’s only one restaurant. Limited grocery so next we will shop before arriving.food yea

The cottage is lovely, the location is beautiful and a short hike the the Venus pool. The quiet and peacefulness of the area, great hikes and beaches, the management tram even checked in to see if we needed something from the other side of the island. Mahalo!

The location is great. Right on the Hana Highway. The sunrise is lovely. The owners have put great effort into restoring an old house. However my experience was not great. There were no blinds on the glass door. So we really felt exposed. We told the host. They recognized that it was a miss on their part. Bear in the mind, the house is old. So taps were chipping off. The utensils were not clean. We were traveling with an infant so had to clean everything twice. We had to change plans and check out early.Well we hope you have a better experience than us.

We loved our stay at Hala Ulu Lulu. If you want a more authentic Hawaiian stay, this is it! The cottage sits far back from the road and was absolutely charming. We loved the Hawaiian decor and interesting artwork through the space. We loved the relaxed feeling of the neighborhood and were spoiled by the gorgeous sunrise and sunset. The location was perfect and close to the National Park and Pīpīwai Trail- Waimoku Falls. We took a morning stroll out the front door to Waioka Pond (the "Venus Pools") which was jaw dropping gorgeous. Our last day we explored Wai'anapanapa State Park which is one of our favorite spots. You can’t go wrong with Hale Ulu Lulu!Only problem was an ant invasion with some of our food. We kept all food all in the fridge. It is a real gem!pools to a breathtaking

It was perfect! We loved Hāna, the bungalow, the people, the location. Truly magical! The property managers were fantastic, helped with navigating the area. It’s so perfect you don’t want it to get spoiled. Hana is special, and the bungalow was perfect!

The property was a gem. The directions provided was so helpful. The location is right off the Hana Highway and the locale was so beautiful, and near to lots of main attractions that Hana is known for.
Our property was clean and nicely setup for our welcome. Lots of facility was available if needed.
In all, an awesome place to stay at Hana. Highly recommended.

This cottage is just right for two people. My husband and I wanted a quiet and comfortable place to relax, and this cottage delivered. We enjoyed the birds, the sunrise, and three chickens that quietly roamed the expansive front yard. We cooked our main meals in the well supplied kitchen and also took advantage of the grill. Quiet Hana town isn't far, and we were able to walk 20 mins to a nearby beach. There's plenty of privacy from the neighboring house on the property.
The property manager provided a helpful packet of some places in the area to explore, although we found some of the information needs updating. For example, the hotel mentioned in the packet regarding live Hawaiian music has changed hands and no longer provides live music, and we didn't find fresh fish until we went to the farmer's market. The rest of the packet is spot on with good information. Nearby Haleakala National Park has a couple of great hikes - this is not to be confused with the summit access to Haleakala that's popular among many tourists for sunrise viewing.
We loved our stay here in this cottage and would book again.
