Yonelle & Keone were excellent hosts for our family vacation to Hilo. The home was well stocked with all the essentials we needed & we were welcomed with a sweet gift bag of goodies. The home was pristine & located in a lovely neighborhood. I especially appreciated the quick responses to any questions I had during our stay.
Ulu Wai served as a beautiful and excellent location for our 2-day stay to cheer our on niece/grand-daughter playing in the Hawaii Island Labor Day Classic volleyball tournament. The rental is very clean and thoughtfully well stocked with all the provisions we needed and more. It was spacious for our family of 6 adults, and we spent quality time together in between games. The owners were very communicative and thoughtful as they surprised and delighted us with a treat bag and a welcome note. We would love to return for a visit during the Merrie Monarch Festival and absolutely would recommend this lovely rental for anyone looking for a convenient, spacious and beautiful space to enjoy Hilo.

This location was perfect for everything we did in Hilo - zoo, volcano, dinner in Hilo town. The location is very convenient, quiet and has a nice family friendly vibe. The house itself was very clean and well kept. It had some toys and games to keep the toddler who accompanied us busy for a bit. The coqui frog noise wasn’t too bad at all. The only thing I’d comment on is that the fan in one of the bedrooms is quite loud. Otherwise everything was perfect for our short stay in Hilo.
We enjoyed our stay. We wish however, that we had know that there was no A/C. I know it was listed and we just assumed there would be. Most people assume there is a/c it would have been nice to have seen that on the listing
We loved our stay - beautiful, newer home with all the amenities we needed. The location was super convenient to visit family in the area, and the hosts were fantastic (and very understanding when we forgot to leave the garage door opener - luckily we got it back). We hope to return on a future trip. Highly recommended.
It was a very quiet neighborhood, peaceful and perfect for college roommates celebrating our 80th birthday this year. All we wanted to do was catch up, reminisce and spend time with each other.
The communication from the host was stellar. The home had 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. 2 king beds and one queen.The kitchen was outfitted with everything you could need. Enjoyable 2 night stay.Great hosts. Easy location. 2 car in-garage parking.When in Hilo, will definitely contact them again.They made the stay perfect.Way to do it! MAHALO!
The property was exactly as advertised. The check-in was easy and check out was even better. The owner allowed us to keep our bags in the garage after check out so we could explore more of Hilo since our flight was later in the day. I would recommend this home without hesitation.
Great house! Perfect size for our family of 5 adults. Very clean! Beautiful view of Mauna Kea. Excellent location for Volcanoes NP, waterfalls and adventures on the east side of the island. Would definitely stay here again
We traveled with our adult kids so we really enjoyed the space to spread out. This home is very nice. The beds were comfortable and even though we didn’t cook, the kitchen was very well equipped. We would definitely stay here again.
This was a great stay for my father and I on a trip to see the Volcanos and Mauna Kea. We were there for two nights and enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Very clean, very comfortable, very quiet place to stay. With the windows open, you could hear the birds which was nice when compared to a hotel. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay.
Restful stay in a beautiful home for our family of 4. Having a garage to park the car was an extra bonus. The house was conveniently located to go to Hawaii volcanoes national park and to shopping areas. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you!
This house was in good condition and met our expectations. We had a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) and had no issues. All appliances and amenities worked as expected. It's in a convenient location within Hilo. The owner was communicative and helpful.
The location of this house is perfect. It’s close to the waterfalls, lava tubes, and farmers market.

It was such a beautiful home. Our family really enjoyed staying there. It was close enough to town and a home away from home. Our hostess was great with communication and the house was very clean and well stocked , definitely will return!
We picked this property because it is close to family. Did not feel like a vacation rental. Newish home in a family neighborhood. No bells and whistles. Beds were just okay. Good for what we needed but would not rush to stay here again.

Thank you for a wonderful stay! The house is as described and more! After a busy day out sightseeing, it was always comforting to come back to a house that complemented our visit. We appreciated the usage of the garage with the garage door remote especially on those rainy Hilo days. The owners took much care and thought in making this house so welcoming! Just the little details such as a welcome gift and a dozen eggs from their backyard chicken coop was a sweet gesture. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer but we are looking forward to staying at this home again.
Everything you need for a great family stay in Hilo. Just be prepared for the coqui frogs. Bring your love of nature or your earplugs at night! The hosts are responsive and accommodating.
Beautiful home, centrally located to everything we wanted to see/do on the east side of the big island. No AC was not a problem as long as windows were open and fans were going. Only had to shut them all the first night after a rain as the frogs were out in abundance! Other nights were fine. Washer/dryer and other amenities were very useful.
Enjoyed the fresh eggs from the chickens in the coop as well as the snack package you left us. Thanks!
Our family was here for a memorial service and arrived from Georgia, Ohio, Washington DC and Maine (7 adults). UhiWai was the perfect gathering spot for us. We were warmly welcomed by Yonnell and Keone and their home was comfortable with room to spread out. Every possible amenity was thought of and provided. I would happily return.
You have a very beautiful home. Love the cool air and the location was near everything I needed especially eateries and family. Definitely highly recommending to family and friends. If anything, we would love to come back!

The property is a great little place located in a middle class neighborhood. The location was perfect for all the things we wanted to do on the Hilo side of the Big Island. Volcano National Park and lots of other hiking trails are within a 30 minute drive. There are several beaches/lagoons in close proximity which provide swimming and snorkeling opportunities. This place has all the amenities we needed. There is no AC which made some us a little nervous at first because you’ll want to keep the windows open at night to get the cool breeze, but we ended up liking it because you get to hear the frogs at night and the roosters in the morning which made us feel more connected to the area. We loved Hilo!
Good location to take advantage of the Hilo area and the east side of the Big Island. Very clean and safe. Beautiful home. Had just about everything we needed during our stay. We would stay here again, book with confidence. Left us a nice welcome package and included a dozen fresh eggs. Very much appreciated. One little thing, there is a gas grill, but if you use it there is an additional cleaning fee. That should have been disclosed in the property description.

My wife and I stayed to attend our daughter’s graduation from UH. The location was perfect, close to everything you need. The house was clean with an open concept. Everything you needed for a perfect stay was provided! Great communication with the owner, what more could one ask for. Mahalo!!!
