Very nice calm property away from the tourist hotspots. Great beach front access and wonderful spot on the island.
Inside overall was nice and well maintained considering it's an historic property. Lack of air conditioning does take some getting used to but primary bedroom a/c made that room very comfortable. Kitchenware was clean and more than adequate for simple, fun meals on the 2nd floor lanai looking out to the ocean. Beds were very comfortable (real mattresses) for a great night's sleep. Beach chairs, umbrella, etc, made beach trips a breeze. Grounds and neighborhood, as well as proximity to beach were excellent. Mahalo!

This is a wonderful place for a family vacation (in my case, three generations). Very well stocked. Steps to a beautiful beach with very few people on it. Paradise!
After a few days of a non-stop family reunion around Waikiki, staying in Kailua was another world. The neighborhood is so peaceful and the beach is so beautiful. We were thinking things like, oh the sand is a bit too soft and the water a little too warm. The house is homey and comfortable, the location is super convenient. It really is just steps to the beach. Crystal makes everything easy, and is always available to answer questions. We were there during a tsunami evacuation and she checked in on us to make sure we were aware and were ok.It’s the perfect spot for a family with kids.
Great location and beautiful beach! Check-in/out were easy and no problems with access to the house. All bedrooms were roomy and nice with lots of bedding. Bathrooms were decent and large. Kitchen, living room, dining area and decking were great. Really appreciated having an outdoor shower with both cold and heated water.Only one bedroom had a window AC, the others only had ceiling fans. If they also had ACs, sleeping conditions would be better. Had to keep the windows fully open to make the ones with only fans more comfortable. Luckily, there usually were constant breezes from the ocean that helped.

My family and I stayed here and we had an amazing time. The house was clean and a great location, especially to watch the sunrise from the beach. Crystal was amazing and responsive with all our questions.

We three couples traveled to Oahu to attend a wedding in Kailua. We wanted a comfortable beach house to enjoy beautiful Kailua Beach and unwind around wedding events and some golf. This house was the perfect choice. The interior is older but clean and nicely maintained. Everything functioned as it should. The new deck is spacious and attractive. We spent cocktail hours reviewing the day and enjoying the wonderful breezes. The sea breeze provided ample air circulation and we all slept very comfortably. I highly recommend this delightful house for its comfort, proximity to the beach and Kailua restaurants and shopping, and responsive owner.
Crystal was very helpful. Great location and close to the beach. Lots of room and great view of the ocean and hearing of the ocean waves. Only AC in master suite not a problem at all. Windows open down stairs and patio door open upstairs provided for a nice breeze. Would most definitely book again. Mahalo.

The property is beautiful with amazing beach access. We loved Kailua and made amazing family memories. Found so many fantastic things to do and being in Kailua made everything so convenient.
checkin process was simple and efficient house was totally ready for us. When we arrived. Communication with the property owner was timely. The home itself is a lovely historic property near the ocean with easy beach access. We actually left some prescription glasses at the home which they are sending to us thankfully. All in all, we really enjoyed our week in Kailua.

On the surface the property was nice but between mildew on bed pillows, late responses to outside lighting issues, not enough trash bags for kitchen, lack of patio furniture for lounging, extensive dust in primary bedroom as well as dirty/worn chairs in bedrooms, pack and play mildewed…the location was conveniently located to beach area and outdoor shower made cleanup easy…
Host was excellent with responses and clearly conveying expectations. Property was very pretty and along the beach access our daughter normally uses to get to the beach. Kitchen well accessorized with cooking needs, spices, etc. Our space was shared by family of 2 older adults and 2 younger adults. Stayed for a week of enjoyment, both before and after the wedding.

First the listing says air conditioning, but it’s actually 1 unit in the upper bedroom and it barely put out cool air. My mother, age 75, was very hot in the room. The rest of the rooms had just fans and it was not enough to keep us comfortable, especially sleeping. Second, within minutes of arriving to the house with our dinner my sister found a cockroach in the silverware drawer so we had to head out to get traps to put all over the kitchen and rewash everything. Third, my mother used the upstairs shower and it would go back and forth from hot to cold and she almost scald herself when she first got in because she was not expecting it to do that nor were there any notes giving us any warning of any issues.
The house was in a nice quiet area with a nice path to the beach which was absolutely gorgeous and close to a lot of areas we went to, but we ended up leaving a day early and stayed in a hotel because the 4 of us were not getting any sleep due to the heat. There was not enough breeze coming in the windows to cool the rooms down. We were disappointed because the area was beautiful.
The house was not equipped with bbq ,a/c after a long day of activities came back to a oven house, had to buy fans because the ones they had didn’t work as well this property is not worth the 7,000 dollars I spent to bring my family there also we had to take the garbage cans out and do made work before we checked out.
Absolutely loved this property! Very clean and spacious home that comfortably accommodated my family of 4. The backyard and both patios served as a great reprieve from sun on the beach. Ocean views from second floor balcony and just steps from the beach which was wasn’t crowded at all-it felt like our own private oasis! Can’t wait to return!
Beautiful home that is steps from one of the most beautiful private beaches in Hawaii. It had an amazing back porch, grassy play area for our toddler grandson with beach toys included. Owner has thought of everything you need during your stay and even recommended restaurants and shopping. The cool ocean breeze off the water kept the home cool. You can see the water & beach from the upstairs lanai. We had an extraordinary week stay and will definitely be back again. We would highly recommend for a group/family stay.
We loved the historical nature of the house and the beach being so close. Unfortunately it wasn’t really well cared for. The beds and bedding were older and not very comfortable. The shower curtain was moldy and the pillows were old with some staining. There’s a big difference between a rental where they have thought about your comfort and go the extra mile and a rental like this that seems like an afterthought. I wouldn’t book this home again.
This property is very close to the beach but it is not waterfront as the listing implies. There is a house being constructed in front of it that impedes the view. Also, the house is NOT air conditioned even though the amenities list says it is. There is 1 ac unit in the 1 upstairs bedroom but none of the common spaces nor the 2 downstairs BRs have A/C. The house needs updating. I expected a lot more given the cost.
This property was absolutely what our family wanted for our Hawaiian Vacation. The layout was perfect for our multigenerational family offering everyone from the oldest (72) to the youngest (10) plenty of space. The location to the beach, shops, and town was exactly what we wanted. The lack of AC throughout the house was a shock to the system, but only for a bit. The position of the house offers great breezes. I was even grabbing a sweater at nights by the end of the trip. The house is full of character and charm, which we absolutely loved. It was also well stocked with a lot of those essential items you don’t want to have to pack including blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron, plenty of beach towels/chairs/toys and more. Great water pressure and hot water for our large family. Quick, easy communications with the property manager. My only comment that is not a complaint would be that this house is a historical island home with a lot of those neat touches, but also quirks and difficulties. However, the notes around the house were so helpful when getting your bearings in a new place. We honestly can’t wait to return one day!
The property is a few steps from Kailua Beach, a 2.5-mile beach that, except for some weekend days, has very few people. Staying here is like staying on an outer island but with the conveniences of Honolulu when you want them. Great for long, peaceful beach walks.
It is about 30 minutes from the airport. There are many nearby good restaurants for dine-in or take out. Grocery and other stores are convenient.
Family from New England visiting my family who lives in the north shore of Oahu. Perfect location.
The house is spacious, clean and right next to the beach. The beach is secluded and quiet. The amenities are all you need for a family vacation. I'll recommend this place all day!
