Great house with the family. Loved the pod layout. We used the pool every day. Very thoughtful touches throughout. Kitchen set up for cooking in with a large group which we appreciated. Owners very responsive and easy to work with. Would definitely come back!
Amazing property. Beautiful inside and out. Literally everything one could possibly need from the kitchen to the pool. Everyone in our nine person group had a fabulous time, even just hanging out in the houses or the by pool and hot tub. Works perfectly for those who want to stay together but not "too together." Didn't end up with pics of the inside of the home but it is gorgeous!
The property was stunning. We had the pleasure of staying here for 1 week. Family of 4, with 2 teen boys, each had their own personal "pod"--so for starters, those that have teens know that already this place was a hit! It really is beautiful, and amazingly private as well. We went from here to Maui--and already I'm missing the privacy that Hale Mele offered. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils, cutting boards, etc. Ample seating indoors and out--this property has so much to offer. It was a great home base for the various activities the island has to offer as well.
Ample room and space for multiple families. The house is well appointed and comfortable.
Stayed with my kids and grandkids. Loved location and the pool along with each family having private space (bedroom pods) and shared space (house and pool). Location is very convenient and the golf cart is a hit. Recommend. Hosts are very responsive and will try to stay with them again in the future.
Just wow … what an incredible place this is!! I have stayed at many high-end VRBO’s and this is the best yet. The owner, Peter, is very quick to respond to questions and spent time on the phone with me before my vacation telling me great places to go and things to do. This was a family vacation of a lifetime for my family of 8. Everyone was so impressed with the place and already asking to go back. The house was so clean and had everything you needed .. and a kitchen stocked with everything a chef would love! Can’t wait to go back!! 10 stars on this property and owner!!!
Wonderful home for our extended family. The hale style home worked perfectly for our group of grandparents, parents, teens, and kids with different wake up times and bedtimes! The house was stunning. Our favorite spot (other than the hot tub) was the tower overlooking Palm trees with views out to the ocean. Would stay here again. 10/10!
I was a little worried driving the quick 30 minutes from the airport because the landscape was mostly lava fields with great views. but we turned into the gated community, which was a lush, tropical paradise. Very convenient to mountain hikes to the north, Kona activities to the south, and Hilo a short hour to the east, where we saw beautiful waterfalls.The house was incredible. Each of our children had a wing to themselves, including one for our grandchildren and their parents.what impressed me were the details. The shower liquids were all topped off to the brim. golf cart and E bikes fully charged. we enjoyed the hot tub and pool when we weren’t out exploring. we had a question about the air conditioning, and it was solved within a couple minutes by calling the host, who can monitor the electronics from afar. strong Internet signal when we needed it.we worried that birds were accidentally flying in through the large doors when they were opened until we realized they knew what they were doing. We noticed they would wait nearby and fly in when the door opened, look for crumbs and quickly fly back out.The 10 of us had so much room than it never felt busy or crowded. The stove... I would love to cook on something like that every day.The area has almost too many things to do. One could easily stay in the community and go to one of several beaches where we were mostly alone. but it is also a great place to launch from.
From the host communication, home amenities and location, this is an excellent property for a relaxing big island vacation.
We had an amazing time staying at Hale Mele. Great for large families. Peter was super communicative and helped us with everything we needed. We hope to come back again soon!

The hosts were incredible and the home served as paradise for my 8 friends and me to celebrate my 50th. Don’t hesitate - this home is perfection.
There were a couple of small hiccups that were resolved within minutes by the owners, and were gracious enough to offer a gift to one of my friends for the tiniest inconvenience…really beyond amazing in terms of what we’d ever dream an owner would do to make us all enjoy our visit.
An absolutely amazing and beautifully appointed retreat for our family's vacation. Master Suites are exquisite and luxurious with both indoor and outdoor showers. Kitchen had everything we needed to make gourmet dinners and dining room was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our group of 10. All beds were super comfortable. Grounds are beautifully manicured and the pool and hot tub were crystal clean and our regular hangout. But the best part for me was the elevated covered seating area or "The Perch" (as we called it) where we would enjoy our coffee watching the sun rise. The pictures do not do this property justice, it is an absolute gem and we cannot wait to return.
Everything about this home was top notch. The grounds were spectacular and the rooms were spacious and well appointed. The location was perfect . I can’t begin to describe how wonderful our stay was.
This was the perfect property for our 4 families to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. Every family got their own suite and the shared living spaces were all so inviting and open. Hosts responded quickly to all questions about where things were located and the amenities quickly and professionally. Would 10000% stay here again!
The house was perfect for our extended family. The separate pod areas worked great for the separate families and children. The pool was a hit with everyone as were the trips to Mauna Lani beach in the golf cart.
Peter was very helpful and always responded quickly to our questions.
We would highly recommend the house and hopefully we will be able to return soon.
Brought my wife, 2 children, and parents for a dream vacation. The property was amazing, from the location to the amenities, we wanted for nothing. Celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary and 2 birthdays during our stay. Would be humbled to stay here again and give the highest recommendation to anyone considering this property. AMAZING
Hale Mele was a perfect location for our family vacation/celebration. The property is beautiful, clean, and well provisioned. Great amenities and a very communicative host. The pods are great for privacy and the common areas are wonderful gathering places. We will definitely book again.
We had an amazing stay at Hale Mele. The house was clean and beautiful with all the amenities we could possibly need. We loved the pod style of the home, which was exactly what we needed with teens and a friend staying with us. The location was perfect, and the access to the beach club was a huge bonus. We would definitely stay at this home again! Thank you Peter for sharing your home with us!
This was a birthday celebration for three family members and a Christmas gift for my parents. 6 adults. There was plenty of room for privacy. The owners even left a beautiful birthday bouquet for us. While we didn’t have any real issues, when we did, the owner was prompt at responding. The pool was wonderful. The beach is not too far away either. We spent our water time at the pool instead. The only real negative thing I could say about the house is that the bedroom doors did not have coverings over them, so if the landscaper or pool person were to go by and you were in the room, they see right in the room. In one of the rooms, if you were showering in the indoor shower, anyone could see you in all your glory. The simple fix was to shower in the outdoor shower, which was wonderful. I highly recommend it. It was also difficult to sleep due to street lights on the road behind the house. I’d bring a sleep mask.
As a side note, the landscaper is there some days during the week and the pool person also comes. They are nice people, but feels a bit intrusive. It would not prevent me from going here again.
We were a party of 8 adults staying at Hale Mele. The house and grounds was beyond what we expected. So well taken care of. The house was well stock for all of our needs. We loved everything about the house like the pool, hot tub, electric bikes, electric scooter and all the seating around the patio for dinner and drinks. Peter is a great host and is well prepared to answer any your questions or needs. This is a must stay place if you’re coming to the Big Island.

This was such a wonderful place to stay. We loved 😍 everything about it. Already recommending it to friends and family.
We had a group of 9 staying at Hale Mele, 7 adults and 2 kids (8 & 11). The property is beautiful and the most well-stocked VRBO we’ve stayed at (garbage bags, soap, shampoo, kitchen items, pool/beach things, etc). The spacious layout was great for us to be together or find somewhere to relax away from everyone. The pool area was perfect and where we spent most of our time. The beach club was convenient and nice to visit, too.
Peter, the host, was very responsive and answered any questions promptly. His arrival instructions were on point and arrival/departure was a breeze. Definitely treat yourself to a stay at Hale Mele, I’m glad we did!
We love a pod style home with its own pool/hot tub and many other amenities. Great visit, communication, and wonderful property. Only wish we could have stayed longer....
