I’ll say that the house is beautiful and charming. We took advantage of the ocean views and loved having a pool. The AC units in all bedrooms were a bonus since it was warm even in the evenings most nights. The interaction with the host was ok, nothing special, but ok. While the team is nice when you speak with them, the overall feel is that they manage too many properties and are spread thin. The reason I say this is when we needed a cleaning, they said they were too busy to do it for us the day we needed it done, so we had to strip all beds and do the cleaning turn ourselves which was a bummer to have to do that. There were a lot of cockroaches in the home itself and while I don’t care about that much, the wife and kids didn’t love the idea of them crawling around all over in the home.
We were in town for a birthday celebration and really enjoyed out stay. The house is spacious and well appointed. The pool and view are amazing. Its a perfect house for a large family and we hope to return!
We had a lovely family getaway at this Mauna Kea residence. We come to the island a few times a year and are Mauna Kea-philes, but this was our first time staying at this home. The location was wonderful and view of the New Years Eve fireworks could not be better. The home is older and the owners are currently updating it; when the updates are completed, the home will be outstanding. The South Kohala management company was very responsive to any needs that we had during the stay. We will consider this home again on our future stays.
Over quite comfortable. Updating in master bathroom needed. A Spa for that price range would increase value. View magnificent!

A lovely vacation home with great views of the sunset and great location near Mauna Kea beach! The use of the Mauna Kea and Hapuna facilities is well worth the extra cost! South Kohala management group were great to work with. Any problems were handled promptly! We’ll be back
The property is beautiful and the views are amazing. We enjoyed lounging by the pool and cooling off during the warm days. Overall a very enjoyable place and great location.
